Something else I just realized, they gave JP servers a way to technically buy 30,000 MGP. Yeah they have to buy a few drinks, but how much do drinks go for in Japanese convenience stores? If it's like their US or EU counterparts, not that much. >x>

Oh god please don't make it all Japan exclusive that's an extremely bad look for your game, I would VERY much love to get this outfit I don't even care that's its a maids outfit i just really really want this game to have more dresses available and making all of these items only obtainable if your living in Japan is a massive middle finger to everyone else who doesn't, Please re-think this.

I believe you can purchase triple triad card-packs with MGP. It would give a slight advantage since it's essentially paying RL money for the cards in-game. This doesn't have anything to do with actual dungeons or raids, but it still gives an advantage to a section of the game that people invest a lot of time in, especially if you consider Triple Triad Tournaments. The definition of P2W is a bit different for every person. Personally, I think something like this is getting pretty close, if not directly right on the line for P2W.

All in all though, I think people are just upset that they have to have good luck (cactpots,lottery) or spend a lot of time grinding out triple triad for the MGP to purchase cardpacks and whatnot, but here it's possible to just spend money and get those much easier. With the maid/butler outfits and the mount, it's available to JP players first whereas the rest of the world has to wait even though we're all playing the same game. This is assuming they will release it to us after the campaign is over, or when they manage to do something in NA/EU with international companies, which would take even longer. It just seems a bit unfair some players have to wait while some don't just because of region.

as someone else who doesnt live on NA or EU, yeah, why not just put all the exclusive stuff on the mogstation? and give the money directly to SE without any of those hassles of thinking on how to implement them outside of japan?

Aw man. I really really wanted this gear. Was saving MGP because I thought it would be gold saucer. Hopefully they add it some other way soon...

Honestly, the amount of whining and entitlement in this thread is pretty sickening. People that have been playing this game now threaten to cancel their subs. Reason? They can't have 30k MGP or a maid outfit. The real kicker is the aetheryte tickets though. How dare they not give everyone free (not actually free, as they have to be bought in a promotion) event!

Everyone needs to calm down. Chill. They are discussing how to bring these items over. Nothing is set in stone, yet people are overreacting like this is some crazy attack against their home country. If they can't secure some off the wall gas station or convenience store, I'm sure they'll probably throw them up on the mog station for the cost of a drink. Or drinks since it's like a stamp ticket type thing.

The fact they have to even discuss how to bring them over is ridiculous IMO. Should be a no brainer.

It could be because, oh I don't know, that this was announced on a JP Live Letter as a fun announcement to engage their JP community. Boost some subs. Typical marketing strats.

Maybe it'll be announced on a Western letter in the future. I mean it will have to happen. With the amount of pitchforks going up in this thread, they will have to say something that will cater to the masses.

I'm actually really excited males are finally getting legitimate, traditional Butler attire for glamour. I always found it odd my gals had a nice choice with the Valentione's gear, but guys really never had a real, decent equivalent (the Bestman's set for manservants didn't cut it for me and let's not talk about the Culinary AF body recolor). The Weaver Body was the only thing that came close, but was, of course, locked.

As an american I want my region specific mount to be a bald eagle playing an electric guitar that plays the national anthem when ridden. Im also mad because I wanted that maid uniform and who knows when its coming over.



Also it is ironic that the fat chocobo mount requires the purchase of like 30 sodas altogether

Are you serious? That seriously sucks. I was looking forward to the maid uniform. I hope NA/EU gets it soon. I could understand the Chinese exclusive stuff but Japanese? I love this game but that seriously hurts.

While that would be preferred, it's extremely unlikely considering how the Japanese player base has to unlock it. Thematically they fit in with the usual Gold Saucer rewards, and the Gold Saucer is extremely lacking in rewards...

The moment they include ANY region specific anything, of COURSE people are going to get upset and want it. Honestly, wtf are they thinking? I'm also disappointed that the first thought regarding this is to stick it in the Mog Station. Hello more 15$ outfits, which is honestly way too expensive in a month-sub MMO. >.>

[EDIT] Since these outfits are from a real world thing, I can understand putting this set in the Mog Station. People in JP are paying irl money for this, so we should as well. But outfits released in the game, for free, shouldn't require irl money to obtain.

[EDIT2] If they do bring it over here, I would hate for it to be a 7/11 event here as well. I live in a very, very, very small town in Canada. The nearest 7/11 to me is a 6 hour drive and I don't think they even get promotions like this. The nearest big city to me is a 10 hour drive. But that's a personal thing. Just wanted to include it. QwQ

If EU and NA wont get this item, then this will be the start of Japan only items, I fear for what is going to come.

Well, the biggest one that I can think of is that the personal housing was going to be "Separate and cheaper" than FC housing. Instead, it was exactly like FC housing...
There's also the SMN glamours. They hyped them to the point of frenzied SMN, and only now are we hearing about them other than "Please look forward to it."
There's the promises to work on their system, to make it so we could actually have Addons and ways to alleviate the inventory issue, which became "Buy more retainers for real money."

And that's just off the top of my head.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but most of those seem like quality of life changes that take time and resources to work on and have no impact on the game whatsoever. Housing isn't really that expensive or very hard at all to obtain the gil required to buy a house. Simply play the markets or sell popular items for a quick profit and wait for the inevitable Ishgardian housing.

You don't need summoner glamours to get by in the game just like you don't need Sleipnir or Minfillia's costume; they are creating content to add more customization. The fact that we get items in the mog station is giving the consumer the option to buy what they need and know their limits. I don't care about buying metallic dye or those Magitek mounts which is why I haven't bought them, however, I did buy the Odin horse because it's cool and I had extra funds to get it. I got a cool Cait Sith minion for being one of the nilla 2.0 preorders as a bonus, but you don't see other people freaking out about owning a timed exclusive like that. Except if I just opened a new can of worms. That would really suck. I don't go crazy about owning every single thing that's FFXIV related.

As far as inventory space goes, they actually responded to that today. I present a quote in a quote since I'm not hardcore enough to know how to link to official dev responses.

As far as this event is concerned, the JP players are getting a recolored Fat Chocobo, the same Chocobo collector's edition players and commendation achievers already have. They are getting a chance at getting MGP. They are getting a maid/butler outfit. This event is far more blown out over its importance than it needs to be, and impacts current players in no way.
