No. I'm so sick of dual wielding. We finally get a weapon type that primarily uses one hand and you want to ruin that by adding a second weapon.

I think you should quit while you're behind. I also said "primarily uses one hand." You're ignoring all the 2-handed weapons. You're ignoring that Monks fight with two fist weapons. You're ignoring that Shields are a weapon, not an armor, wielded on the off-hand. And you're ignoring Grimoires and Star Globes both being operated with two hands.
I forgot monks existed for a minute. Also you missed the point entirely this is about MCH not every other class in existence I'll withdraw my statement any just cause I do not feel like hearing some unneeded complaining. Btw, Duel weilding is using two things in both hands, not using two hands to handle one thing, or holding one big thing in two hands so...Only two dual wielding classes still.
The real questions are:
- Why are you so sick of dual wielding when only 2 classes "dual wield"? (In reality no classes dual wield)
- What is your opinion on the Gauss Barrel on the Armageddon?
Back on the subject of Gauss Barrel and Armageddon. I'd really like to see the attachment centered....
Well what I REALLY want to see is either A) Ability to turn Gauss Barrel off visually or B) Have custom Gauss Barrels for each gun that better fits each weapon's style.
Customized GB and aetheroconverter pack will be great! Similar to BRDs arrows/quiver holder and AST deck holder.
If they really wanna be lazy they can atleast make color of the GB and pack match the color combo of the gun. They should be capable of that at least since dyeable guns do the same thing.
I find myself sticking to my law weapon as glamour since the silver pack is getting quite annoying to look at
Gauss Barrel in general is a bad looking add-on.
As far as Gauss Barrel on Armageddon is concerned, I frankly don't notice the off-centered position unless I'm specifically making a screenshot of the weapon. It doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
Even Ninja and Monk are not true dual-wielding classes, since it's purely a cosmetic difference. You can't equip either hand with different weapons, and there's still only one auto-attack instead of two per delay period. For all intents and purposes everyone is two-hand except PLD, sort of.
Option "B" is really what should happen, just like how Bards have bow-specific quivers. It might take a bit more time, but it wouldn't be so bad if they had done it from the beginning. Now that they'd have to play catch-up, I don't think they'll ever do this.
That'd be nice too, but I'd think that if each gauss barrel were custom designed for each gun, we wouldn't want to hide it because it'd be awesome. :D
Arise from the grave, thread !
So yeah I'm wondering if I get a machinist for my third class, given that we won't likely get a gun-based class in a very long time (if ever), which is what I wanted for my character (corsair/musketeer).
But all I have is shitfaced lunchbox-toting mechadildo-summoning failinist over there. I returned recently to the game and saw this nice-ass anima gatling gun so I was like "hmmm at least this'll be a cool glamour". Then I saw this thread.
Did they fix the Gauss Barrel alignment on the gun or does it still look like aids in a box ?
No alignment fix has been implemented.
You can however turn GB off for your own client with a text command. /gbarrel or /gaussbarrel
This will turn it invisible just for you. Others can still see it.
It changes form back to a double barreled design when you upgrade it to i240. The Gauss Barrel stays the same, but now you can hide it so that you personally don't see it (but others still will)
Yeah I don't plan on upgrading any further than the base Armageddon anyway, it's just for glamour and i'm not about to farm 465748414464 components for the next quests, I mean getting the base anima is long enough. I guess that toggle off command is enough then, but what if others type in /gbarrel as well ? Do they still see my thing or not ?
Thanks for the info I guess i'll be levelling archer to 34 and then machinist. When I play it i'll just go "harr harr avast me mateys" and pretend it's a corsair, smh. FeelsBadMan
Use /gbarrel so you won't see the gauss barrel yourself. Only others will see it.
Mch is my dps main and that ugly gauss barrel needs to go......let us glamour it like yoiu're letting summoner glamour egi
I have say it again but is it really that hard to do?
That solves nothing, imagine if glamour was only seen by ourselves. Or imagine if egi glamour was only for ourselves.
It solves nothing that way.
If you guys thought that Gbarrel was bad imagine it attached to this
I hope in Stormblood, they just scrap the actual graphic and make it a stance. "Gauss Mode" can easily be indicated by the light on our aetherometer turning a different color, or glowing, or adding more lights to it (similar to how our turrets glow when hypercharged), and there's always the obvious stance marker if SE is concerned about players not being able to visibly tell if it's being used or not.
TBH I don't even mind the gauss barrel visual, I just wish it was properly aligned with the damn anima weapon, because I really like the triple barrel gatling gun with the cool rotating animations and shit, but damn that misaligned GB looks ugly. And yeah since the /gbarrel works only for you it doesn't really solve the problem, but it's nice that it's there at lest.
I ended up levelling a DRK instead lel.
Most MCH would disagree. These threads died off almost instantly once /gbarrel was added to the game. It was a satisfactory solution for almost all involved. Heck, even the guy who resurrected this dead thread did so because they didn't know about /gbarrel.
Seriously, the only people who care about how drone alignment looks on other people's guns, care only because they want to make sure that that drone is actually on there, and that the MCH is not a scrub trying to play without Gauss Barrel because of the way it limits movement.
Honestly, if Egi-glamours, too, had been client-side only, it, too, would have satisfied most Summoners. Other players care about Summoners' Egi only so far as to make sure they're not using Titan, and no further.
What are icons?
Warrior doesn't equip 2 axes to show that they're on defiance. Same with cleric stance/diurnal/nocturnal/enochain/fists of fire. I could list almost all classes.
It's not glam, though. It's an ability effect. And I can turn off ability effects from other players and I don't see them complaining. The only situation I'm imagining is: another player saying, "man, your glam is awesome except for that terrible Gauss barrel". Is that something MCH's deal with? I wouldn't know, I haven't leveled it that high yet.
Problem is GB isn't like any other ability effect. Abilities with persistent visual effects usually have a duration. On the other side most abilities that do not have duration like tank/damage stances for tanks, cleric stance, even bards version of this ability, all except GB don't have a persistent visual effect.
And yes GB can throw off a glamour especially when your going for a look that includes the look of your weapon, which lots of players do.
Not really sure if this is all that relevant, but the new Garo PvP MCH gun and Gauss Barrel... They don't go together very well

The thing is bigger than the gun and not even hanging around anywhere near it.
I didn't even know this was a thing. /gbarrel command works wonders. Thanks! Now my pistol can look like a pistol. lol
Nightmare.
Ha, I was wondering how this would look. I really hope they eventually let you toggle gbarrel off for everyone
