will we see items in the future with much larger gains at the expense of something else?
example: food with +STR, DEX, MND, or INT but reduces PIE, VIT, or defense
will we see items in the future with much larger gains at the expense of something else?

can ( ) potions of Vitality heal the hp they increase like thrill of battle?
will stats such as blunt, slash, piercing resist start appearing ever?
Can we get 3 potions per craft on Draconian potions?
Will there be an overhaul to the glamour system? It seems a waste to have so many grades of prisms - and if inventory is at a premium, it makes sense to overhaul this somehow.
This is a loaded question... What does your work involve? What are some things that we might not know about that you have to consider when creating or working with certain items?
will level 60 enfeeble potions be added?
Will drop rates be increased on rare primal items? (kingly whisker, inferno horn, etc.)
will we see sub weapon slot items for jobs that do not use shields? such as ammo for brd/mch which adds a chance to infict an enfeeble but does not add additional damage
can non-pvp tp restoration medicine be added?
will fights requiring specific medicines ever be a thing? such as 1.0 darnus hard or ffxi ultima/omega with ccb polymer pumps
what is the reason for monk and ninja to have separate eauipment due to str and dex no longer doing anything to parry? seems like they could be merged into one piece and conserve chest drop space.
It would be nice to implement a total achievement points reward system. Currently, achievement points serve no purpose.
Any plans for Final Fantasy 14 Piano collections?
Is there any plan to expand item's inventory or add another "free" retainer?
With the expansion there are so many new items and its hard to keep some of them with the current inventory and just 2 retainers.
Other mmos have playable instruments. Players even band together and do events around the feature alone.
Will similar items ever be added?
When are we getting interesting stats on our armor?
Inventory space is a recurring question.
I think it's safe to assume that most of our inventory space is being taken by old glamour items that aren't really useful anymore except for cosmetic purposes.
Will there ever be a solution for this such as a Glamour Armoire or a Glamour Book where we can "register" cosmetic items without using inventory space?
Will you add some kind of soul crystals to DoL classes similar to DoH?
Even brand new items are still plagued by engine problems that have existed since launch. What are your thoughts on when an overhaul of equipment models will take place? Even new armor like the level 60 paladin chest armor just uses the model of a basic robe for the skirt in the back, for example. And this model has never been properly built for all race/gender combinations (Midlander female feet clip with it when running, for example). I am aware that the answer has historically been that fixing pre-existing equipment is not viewed as important as introducing new equipment, but the issue here is actually framework used by ALL equipment, new and old. And as technology advances and what are today's high-end systems become more commonplace, there is the inevitable advent of a system with optional more robust physics that allow, for instance, a staff on a mage's back to actually interact with her hat and push one aside rather than going through the other.
Could we have a Glamour Catalog or an NPC that would at least save the appearance of the gear we obtain? I think it would be really fun to collect them all. :)
Considering all of the new housing items constantly being added even as event rewards, SE advertising player housing " for everyone" as a big draw for new players, as well as the fact that there are only enough houses per server for only about 1-2% of the server population without counting FC's. Taking away unused houses still only allows for the small 1-2% plus FC's to compete for a house. No matter how many times houses are repossessed, over 95% of your player base will remain homeless with absolutely no way to use the housing items they get or the chocobo stable to help train or dye their chocobos. There's also the PR standpoint. Players who worked hard to gain a house and paid the millions in gil to purchase and build their house will lose it if for whatever reason they are absent from the game for an extended period. There are people who get sick, get injured, have financial crisis, people who deploy for months at a time, have their equipment breakdown and they have to save up for a new computer or gaming system, people who take a break from the game so they can focus on school, or the people who just get burnt out and take a break so they can refresh themselves before diving back into the game. For a player who worked hard for their items and housing, to come back after having an extended time away from the game and they discover that all their hard work has been stripped from them. It will be a PR nightmare with players unsubbing like crazy out of anger for being swindled out of all that work.
Taking all of this into consideration, how on earth does SE possibly hope to fix this so that all players have a realistic ability to gain housing without having to worry about being stripped of their hard work if real life forces them away from the game for a time?
I really like this idea. Kind of like cataloging all of the glamours you've "unlocked". Wildstar has a system kind of like that where you can unlock a costume set either by finding the gear or by paying for it through their ingame store. You get a certain number of costume slots and can buy more slots. You just save an unlocked set to a costume slot and can switch between them with a click of a button. Something like that where the glamour prisms act as reagent for either unlocking the set or for using the set when you want to change glamours would be really awesome.
The "Orchestrion" item that allows players to have a Jukebox-like furniture inside their Free Company / Personal Houses to play music from the game inside one's own personal space. Yoshi-P mentioned working on it before, a few Live Letters back. Is that still in the works?
I have to maintain all four of my Free Company's airships, and it's like pulling teeth to get them to go out on a gathering class and farm up some Dark Matter Clusters just so I can make Airship Repair Materials to fix the ships. All I want to do is fix the Airships with minimal fuss. Will there be an easier way to obtain these other than unspoiled nodes? Like an NPC or something--similar to what was done with the Broom items needed to clean up the Chocobo Stables?
In regards to itemisation, are there any current plans to implement additional secondary stats other than the ones currently in the game? If not, would you consider it in the future?
Grinding out alternate jobs to Lv. 60 from level 50 is extremely grueling and time-consuming with the amount of EXP required. Have you considered making an item similar to the Grand Company's Engineering / Field Manuals for Battle Classes to use to make the grind a little bit less grueling on players with limited time?
In regards to the Au Ra and future playable races:
It seems that the addition of the Au Ra as a playable race was meant to feel as if they have always been known to Eorzea. No one seems put off by your appearance and treat you as they would a Hyur, Elezen, Lala, etc. Now this is understandable given how the main story is presented but will this be the template for any further playable races? Are we to assume that any added race has just always "been there"?
My only other big concern aside from housing are the RMTs. I've played for going on two years now and have had a full blacklist of 200 RMTs that I reported and sent in text logs and even a few screen shot about. I have yet to see a single name from that list be deleted in the entire two years. I have literally reported an RMT who was standing Gridania spamming his ad every 2 minutes, got an auto response saying it would be handled and for the next week I watched and took screenshots of the same RMT staying in the exact same spot spamming. I re-reported it a week later and still nothing happened. In two years not a single RMT that has been reported by me with evidence has been banned form the game. Instead like everyone else, I'm forced to filter out most of the chat channels, turn off tells, and remain /busy in order to avoid the constant harassment of the RMTs.
My question is why has SE been so lenient with the RMTs instead of handling the situation that is crippling the social systems in the game?
Block and Parry are the strengths of Paladin. The change of the parry stat and its augmenting stats (str and dex) have made a number of people feel parry is useless and has caused an air of PLD being sub tier in end game.
Please reconsider adding more parry to gear for PLD, or make the stats again affect the potency and frequency of parry.
The flat 20% mitigation with an unintelligible or imperceptible affect on the rate of parry by the parry stat is suffering. We need a tangible and quantifiable affect on parry. Either removing the cap of 20% or increasing the visibility of parry rate affected by the stat is critical.
You're probably right but it really sucks for the classes that can't use a secondary weapon/tool slot. They don't give you an increase in stats to make up for that loss. It's not extreme with battle classes but it can be painfully obvious when gathering and fishers loose almost 200 points in stats.
Can you consider making new Items (at the Highest Item Level) that involve not only Crafters, but also Rare Drops from End Game Raids? This allows collaboration between Adventurers in Raids and Crafters.
Your older Final Fantasy games did this to great effect, with items like Cursed Gear requiring Abjurations (Rare Drops) from End Game Bosses.
Due to the high DPS requirements in End Game, Tank Accessory Items have consistently been *undesirable* by most Tanks because it contributes very little to increasing their Damage.
Are you considering some change to Tank Accessories to make them more desirable and useful? Perhaps having Tank Damage scale off of Vitality (VIT) instead of Strength? Or to add Strength to Tank Accessories?
We ended the Zodiac weapon quest with a sentient and potentially malicious weapon.
It would be a waste to end a potentially great story for a great weapon here.
- If a NEW weapon is to be created, will there be a parallel quest later on for the current Zodiac weapon? Two separate legendary weapon quests are not without precedent in Final Fantasy.
- If the next Zodiac quest is a continuation of this story, will we forever lose the model of our current Zodiac or will we obtain a new item all together?
Currently, the Accuracy stat feels very 'artificial' in terms of the way it improves our gameplay. It doesn't affect our raw damage, it has almost no relevance outside of raids, and it feels as if we're taking a step backwards when taking accuracy instead of say, Determination. Would you consider improving the accuracy stat so there would be more of an incentive to use it?
Will there ever be an option to "upgrade" or "downsize" your plot of land to a different size.
Example: Free Company "Example" bought a small house in 2.0 and tripled their member count in 3.0. They want to get a bigger house but do not have the gil and do not want to lose all their progress in workshop or rare decorating items. Could they purchase a construction permit to expand the boundaries of their land or just the size of their house to a large or medium?
I understand space in the ward is limited, but a possible work around could be to adjust the space between plots to allow this, or give options to use the space of the lawn, or even a whole new class of building. In NYC space is cramped and we learned to build UP instead of OUT.
