To be fair, most of the questions I have are pretty much irrelevant and just some random curiosities, since I'm sure all the 'important' question will be asked regardless :o
- Are there any plans to increase the usefulness of elemental weakness and resistances? (IE Fire Elementals actually absorbing fire spells instead of taking almost the same damage as any other spell)
- Any plans to revamp Parley?
- Was Gaius' helmet deliberately designed after Grahf's mask was it just coincidence?
- Is there any roughly estimate as to when will we reach the end of the main storyline (3 patches? 4 patches? etc)
- Will we have access to the strongest spells in the series at some point? (Ultima, Holy, Meteor)

- You've talked about chocoback fighting. is there any hope for a Chocobo Knight class?
I'd like to know how this will effect class balance in the long run myself. Or if it even will.

3. Will we be able to change our characters appearance? IE "Barbershop" ,Will you be adding more choices for hairstyles, facial hair and such?.

5. On the ferry ride, can we spice it up at bit with pirate attacks and such?
6. Ships/Airships when can I or a LS own one? When will trade routes be open to sail around the world?
I see all the airship docks around Ezorea not just in the city what will they be used for?

8. You metioned that you will be adding the missing genders IE male Miqo'te/female Roegadyn around PS3 release is this still happening? Can we see some pictures of them?

10 Leves- How do you see them working for solo and group play ? D o plan on adjusting EXP/ rewards for both group and solo with low exp and not the best rewards for completing them like rapor talons?
11 Maps - will the layout of the city-states be changed as well? what will the landmarks be for each areas remaping? can we see pictures?
To Yoshida-san / FF XIV Team:
- When can we expect a comprehensive Mage / Magic revision? Along with the Job System debut in 1.21? (e.g., better Spell FX, more effective Spells, etc.)
- I realize there's a balance for Casual vs. Hardcore content, but are there any plans for Long-Term Goals like Relic Weapons from FF XI? (Note: But I'd vote for it to be ~50% of the amount of time / items it took compared to FF XI given the shift in consumers' time / attention span.) :)
- Will we ever see Summoner Job in FF XIV?

Personally, the only thing I'm still REALLY concerned about are the server issues. The delay bug (cooldowns/buff durations/debuff durations showing incorrect times) is also a HUGE problem.
So I guess my question would be, how is the progress for the server issue fixes coming along?

1. When using a weaponskill/ability/magic we're froze to the ground unable to move until the animation is complete. Will this change where we can freely move?

- To cast spells you need to "confirm" your target that is already targetted. Redundancy is something you're trying to remove, so will casters ever see the removal of the "confirm" spell casting so we can just hit a spell once a target is targetted?
- How far along is player/linkshell housing? What can you tell us about the design and how it will work?
- Will player housing include gardening, storage, or other unique features?
- Has an in-game Final Fantasy type card game been started yet? (Tetra Master/Triple Triad), and if so, what can you tell us about it?
- A lot of people are itching for free server transfers to join their friends, are there any plans for this in the short future?
- Updated linkshell control is desperately desired, how is the progress on this topic?

I have a bad feeling in my gut that these specific issues will be swept under the rug for a long time. I'd rather know if they're willing to open a few NA servers with transfers if the distance seems to be too much to overcome.
Currently my casting bar is useless, buffs randomly flash @0 seconds for up to 20 seconds. Feeling so sluggish takes so much away from the game for me.
On WoW my latency runs in the double digits, I'm on the east coast connected to a west coast server. I have no idea what my latency on XIV is but sometimes I swear its a solid 1 second -.-

If they made just an NA server I'd never join it kills all the FFXI/XIV thought about different cultures playing together, I'm on the official francophone server, and I speak french, perfect opportunity for me to practice language with people who speak it.
Japanese people have the same latency problems that NA people have just ask people who live in Japan and play this game. It has nothing to do with where the server actually is and more to do with just blatantly how crappy the servers are they're using.
I would love to know if they ever have plans on upgrading their servers, since we all know they're crap.
SE allready answered this and it was a "yes, something like Excalibur". A small hint of what we can expect. BUT seriously dont ask for 50% less the effort. If SE would do it that way, they wouldnt deserve the name "Relic Weapons".

Hmm. Just responding to all the questions in this thread should keep Yoshi-P and the team occupied and out of mischief for a couple of hours at least.
The only question I have is how dedicated are they to making FFXIV a success. What I mean by that is there a possibility after another 6 months the game is abandoned due to loss in player amounts?
Only real reason I ask this is because the game even if it has these miracle patches has a really really bad reputation right now. With quite a few new MMOs on the horizon even some of the biggest FF fans will leave to play these. Can FFXIV survive the onslaught of new MMOs and how much time and money is SE willing to put into what could be an MMO that can never recover from such a terrible launch. I really want to know how dedicated SE is to FFXIV.
Will there be chocobo emotes implemented?
For instance, you could type something like /chococheer or something.. and then your chocobo will rear up and make fun, cute noises!! I think something like that would be fun

Maybe it's just that I'm so tired that my eyes have partially glazed over all zombie-like, but I could swear none of you have asked the most important thing of all....
1. Craftmanship vs Magic Craftsmanship, can you give us some pointers on how to tell the difference?

2. are there any plans to make the day/hour/weather element affect in-game outcomes? if so, do you have an approximate time frame?
3. do you have any plans to further increase the monster population, for those of us who crave greater density for our killing fields?
4. are you considering adjusting the difficulty of synthesis so that synthesizing base mats (logically) has a lower level than synthing the final items those mats are made from? do you think making this adjustment might perhaps ease the problem of players not being able to obtain the materials they need to craft with?
5. when I first heard about ffxiv's synthesis system, way back before I started the game a year ago, I had the impression that crafters would be able to mix and match the colors/components of the garmets to make their own individual creations. Of course the synthesis system still requires set recipes, and mix & matching isn't possible. Now, with update 1.19, you've simplified those set recipes still further. Do the devs have a goal of one day (perhaps in a year or two, whenever) perhaps enabling such 'mix and match' capability into the garment synthesis system?
6. It seems weird that DoL have abilities they can apply, only to never have those abilities fire. Or if the abilities do become active, only doing so near the end of the player gathering from a specific node, and the ability then expires when the node has been depleted. Additionally the abilities having no impact on the offhand gathering system at all. Have you considered adjusting the DoL abilities so that either:
(i) they become active as soon as they are applied on the abilities/traits bar; or
(ii) when they become active in game the effect lasts for a specific amount of time, eg 5 to 10 mins, rather than expiring once the current gathering node has been depleted; or
(iii) like DoH abilities they are listed as options for players to choose while gathering, rather than being applied by the game randomly and without player choice?
7. I suppose the introduction of chocobos has to be experienced first to see how it caters for player's travel needs. However I was wondering whether you have had any thought to introducing a similar teleportation option to the 'supplies run' quests of ffxi?
Topic of interest for me:

- Auction house / Market ward revision
- Party search system that's effective
- Map revision
