You guys act like drops are rare in this game. Join whatever the hell you want, don't worry about what other players join.

I highly doubt that you'll only be able to obtain certain gear if say, you have 8 Maelstrom members participating in the fight. Chances are it just affects drop rates or, like others have said, increases chances in getting dark matter.

the use of the wording GC in the title of the thread makes me sad that this thread won't get the attention it should because ppl don't know what GC might stand for "guild company"

I'm fine with this under one condition: The "bonus" item is a vanity drop.

But with SE's track history with FFXIV I have my doubts. :( I really wanted to pick the Gridania Grand Company but now I feel like I'm probably going to be forced to pick Uldah.

But nothing has been said so you could be completly wrong and not get any gear, we NEED to know for certain which we dont and everything is based on speculation atm.

the first thing i thought was, finding a party of all the same GC is gonna be hard. second thing i did was go to me LS website and ask them all to join uldah. i dont think they will though, several have their hearts set on grid.

You know what? Everyone can just pick Ul'dah and Limsa (since those two seem to be the hot spots) I'll pick my Gridania and have all the Caravan Security quests I can imagine all to myself. ^^d

But you'll get sick of that after a week and then want in a GC ifrit group. Only to find out everyone went Ul'dah and you're left out.

well your forgetting the part were they they said it does matter if your all from the same company if you wanna get the best drops/loot.

Yeah basicaly my entire linkshell is gonna pick Uldah GC now. I really wanted to go limsa GC and i still will, but im probably gonna be the only one and i doubt they will want someone from limsa GC in there uldah only ifirt raids.

There's a big difference between 'drops' and 'loot.' I don't believe they did, in fact, detail what the difference is.

Well I don't think EVERYONE is going to be Uldah, and I have a Linkshell so I doubt they will be like "NO NO NO YOU CANT COME TO IFRIT FIGHT GFTO" I see the ratio being U:L:G > 10:4:2 (per person in the 1kCo.) which is fine for me.

they said "greater" not "best" Everyone will be able to obtain ifrit's loot no matter what GC they are from

We still dont know what they meant by that. It might just be extra gil. Also it seems that Limsa and Grid have better company pants...so thats something.

Edit: I'm more concerned about not getting saved skill sets. I vaguely remember them saying that it would be included in 1.19.

well alot of people do care so dont tell them not to care just cause you dont, its rude.

Those who defeat Ifrit in a party formed exclusively of members from their own Grand Company will earn greater rewards.
