Any Idea what time it shuts down at? Midnight I guess?

I hope SE will extend it for those who are unable to get their physical copy yet. Good luck!
Well, if that's the case, it's a very small consolation. Like getting slapped in the face instead of punched. One is just easier to take.
There's still some time left so we'll see but chances are getting thinner as time flies by.
Thanks for the support!
I live in northern canada in a remote town that never gets ANYTHING on time and I just got my copy of Heavensward CE yesterday. Had to pay an extra $30 for customs but I got it. Damn thing was almost $200 after everything was said and done and I didnt even get the nice display case box like was presented at PAX (i think it was PAX?) Happy I got the game, a little disappointed about the box though. Overall, really happy for the CE! Thanks SE!
I live in Canada but thankfully have family in the US so got my CE shipped there and they will be bringing it up to me personally and texted me the code. That being said, I -have- gotten things from the SE sent to me directly only to have them be massively late and HUGE customs fees attached to them. ($80 for the Before Meteor Soundtrack in customs fees?!?!) I wish you all the best in keeping access open with the Pre-order codes for a bit longer so your copies arrive.
Maybe there's just not enough people making noise about it...
Noises are here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...s-on-June-27th.
Well So much for my brandnew static that I won't be a part of anymore... learning these new Ex Primal fights with my group... Thanks a lot Canada Post, SE, very disappointed..
I hope SE/dev team at least tried to do something.
on reddit now https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...g_problem_for/
Seems like they aren't even going to address the issue, like wth...
Locked out ;___;
At least I can still play my two Au Ra characters...
But this is very sad. I also wish they could e-mail the code, since mail system is always a lottery (I never win it myself).
Everybody just get that new email?
For the people confused. If you don't have have the registration key added to your mog station account that means no entering ishgard or any of the 3.0 maps or content. Thats why they want the extension.
Next time, buy digital. They outlined all of this information at the start. You chose to pay for physical, you have to wait. I don't see a problem, here.
Show me where they outlined how we were going to get our stuff a week or more late? Show me where they even suggested the possibility. You're making assumptions because it IS a possiblity. Hell, it's possible to not get it for another month, it's happened to me with other things ordered online. But nobody said anything about that and that there wouldn't be a plan. Would that not be a "problem" as you put it?
I don't remember reading that I might get locked out from the game if I bought the physical CE. Had that been the case, I'd have definitely bought the much cheaper digital version.
I didn't even know that physical CE buyers wouldn't be sent a code online, just like we were sent our early access code by mail. So no, I didn't choose to be locked out and I do see a problem here.
And yes, I'll definitely buy digital version the next time. It'll save money and several headaches.
SE was pretty quick to send out an e-mail about the issue so I'm happy about that. At least they heard everyone and they're trying to fix the problem quick-like.
E-mail? I haven't gotten any. Not in spam either (?).
I'm still able to get into Ishgard despite not having put in the code, interestingly enough...
Welp... I don't have my Collector's edition yet but had EA.... this is really really bad business! So I can't even access my account now.
I guess I dodged a bullet. I didn't get the CE, just the standard one, and got my game on the 23rd. Yeah the code(two actually for different purposes) are in the box.
Didn't get any e-mail either.
The way to fix this would be to extend the early access period and next time ship the game much earlier.
You live outside of the US, shipping for anything outside of the US takes a long time. Especially when Customs is involved. When it comes to physical shipping, always expect delays and holdups. I don't know why anyone even buys physical anymore. Digital has become the ultimate convenience. SE said the Early Access period would be a short time, why would anyone expect them to extend it when they gave the information? Honestly, it's the buyer's fault for choosing the more inconvenient method. Why should they rectify your mistake?
Physical is incredibly unreliable explicitly because of shipping. The only time you should buy physical if you're getting the game at your local retailer. That's the only time it should be a feasible choice. Otherwise, buy digital. And from what I'm hearing about the physical CE, it wasn't even worth shelling out the extra money for. I'm honestly glad that I bought Digital.
No, it doesn't. I run an eBay store and ship things internationally on a fairly regular basis, and even with just First Class mail, I can't remember the last package I sent anywhere that took more than 7-10 days to arrive. I just shipped something to Sweden the other day and it was there in about a week.
Going from the US to Canada takes a week or less, customs included. It's perfectly reasonable for them to expect to receive their package in time because nine times out of ten, they will.
And Early Access ran for more than a week. Which is plenty of time for people to get their packages. SE held up their end, why should they be expected to continue the service for a minority? Is my job entitled to give me more hours because I showed up late one day? No, they're not. It's my mistake, I suffer for it. Same rule applies. Shipping a physical item is a tricky situation. There are so many variables involved that it's not even possible to know when something will arrive. For all they know, their package may not even come at all. What then? That's not SE's fault.
The times I have pre-ordered physical I've always received the product in good time before launch. Heck, I'm in Europe and haven't received mine either which was shipped from the UK and should've taken a week tops. Most likely SE screwed up their paper work. It wouldn't have been a problem had they only shipped a week earlier on than they did like any sane company would. Instead they ship on the basis of estimated time of arrival which is almost never correct. The very least they could prolong the early access period for confirmed purchases.
I also like to have games in my shelf, is that a problem?
I'm suspecting SE screwed up on declaring the correct value for the customs forms. As I said, I ship things internationally on a regular basis as well as purchase things from abroad, and never once have I had a package get held up in customs. The only times I've ever heard of it happening were when the sender did not declare things properly on the customs form. There should be no issue if you're honest about the contents of a package and their value.
It's to be expected that a few packages will end up held up in transit for whatever reason. But when it happens to a large number of people, the company who shipped the items did something wrong.
It's not a problem. I used to be all about physical copies. The problem is when you expect a handout for a courtesy service. SE didn't even have to give an Early Access period.
On the subject of SE not delivering ahead of time like 'any sane company,' if you read the OP, it was said that their particular Customs was withholding their package for 6 business days that would end on the 29th, logically concluding that the package arrived at Customs on the 22nd, before the official release of Heavensward. Which means that SE shipped the copies out well before that, unless the person chose some expedited shipping option. Again, it's not SE's fault for Customs and unexpected delays.
he gave us A free character change Fantastia because...uhh IDK...because we couldn't play it but im like I don't need that. I'd been happy with Aethryte tickets but a fantasia...yeah....cool I guess...
Indeed. I use Ebay frequently myself and never had something held up in customs like this if declared correctly, and even then this is truly abnormal. Heck, letters from China arrive in a week lol.
It's entirely their fault. Abroad shipping can run into delays so they should've taken that into consideration. I really don't understand why you disagree with that. It's not just one person, it's for a lot of people, even people with just the standard edition which should've slipped right through customs and into people's mailboxes.
Even people with the digital version havne't received their codes and SE is off for the weekend. I've also discussed this on the French forum, so it's clearly not just Canadians either.
I've shipped five things internationally in the past month, including one to an APO address. That one took the longest to get there: ten days. Everything else was a week or less.
Items should not get held up in customs, period. If it happens, it means the person who shipped them didn't declare them properly.
Didnt receive mine too. They didnt answer my email yet . I hope to get it tomorrow before my vacation start.
Shameless bump. When are you going to fix this? People with digital downloads are also waiting for their codes.
