I think so.
I don't follow the lore but Fluid Aura isn't a healing spell and uses water.
Personally, having a neat hurricane like spell would of been pretty cool too.
Also don't know how MANY skills we all get, but the WHM showed 5 new skills.
You just gotta cross your fingers at this point.
I wanna drown a sahagin in a holy water bubble. :(
I do agree with the other poster though, from the info they gave us it seems most of the healers are losing their identities in favor of balance. I hope that isn't the case, but it seems to be. I don't see what's wrong with the current system. =/
If you follow the quest line you find that she doesnt draw on the elementals at all, she draws the power from within herself, like her mother did which inevitably led to her mothers death, you are trying to show her the truth of borrowing power from the elementals to save her life.
How about summon slimy eel?
Gross and watery.

This could be a real thing for WHMs. Summon this eel, it kills everything.
I want to point out that while, yes, Fluid Aura and Esuna are water based, the rest are debatable. They have a general 'buff' aura, which is blue coloured; all buff abilities have it, not just WHM. I see the aura for buffs as just a 'support' aura, one that bestows a buff.
The current spells which are Water-based are:
Fluid Aura
Esuna
Leeches
Raise
Embrace (both faeries)
Whispering Dawn
Resurrection is oddly enough wind-based.
However, it does seem that Astrologian pulls on the water element for their healing spells; their aura is definitely blue in both the PAX teaser and the Job Actions video when they cast the shown healing spells. Maybe its to highlight their significance as their heal capabilities being based on their respective stance i.e. more supportive based heals.
fluid aura II maybe?
it could be a root instead of a knockback with either slightly more damage on cast or adds a dot?
just a random idea
i do like the thought of more water spells irregardless of how they work
To those wondering where cure being water based comes from, in 1.x there was an NPC who specifically stated cures were water based, however if you looked in the spells description it was considered elementally neutral. The old cure animation and sound effect made it quite clear it was water based too, the new one isn't quite as obvious.
I feel as though each healer is gaining balance without losing flavor. They are all retaining their powerful bases, but gaining abilities that cover their shortcomings. They are all going to be better than each other at certain things, but you'll find yourself at less of a disadvantage when classes are stacked.
That said, a water bubble sounds like fun, something like the second boss of Brayflox NM uses, that could bind, DoT, and maybe lower magic resistance for the duration.
This game is still a baby. I don't want to see super powerful spells just yet. So spells like flood, burst, etc can still come in future Xpansions. I for one am stoked of the new spells WHM/SCH are getting.
