Bye, I don't think this game and community will miss anyone who can't even provide a valuable feedback.
Why does derplander have more emotes than my character? -_-

could some one explain to me what makes this new specialization so different from how it is now? is it a bad thing?
Bayohne has translated some of the live letter here.
Specialization seems to be intended as an alternative to Omnicrafting. (i.e. you do not need all the cross class skills to craft all the recipes in your specializations)Quote:

Now you can level up desynthesis on good level only with 3 crafters too. I don't think that specialization will heavily broke the craft system, but people are afraid of that and I can understand it. Desynthesis doesn't affect craft as much as the specialization will, I guess.
The impression I got was that you can level ALL of the crafts to 60 but your specialization choices unlock extra skills for those classes. Effectively you will be able to craft basic stuff with every craft but you will only be able to craft the particularly difficult stuff with three of them. As much as some people will bemoan this we needed it desperately to stimulate the economy a bit. As it stands at the moment there is far too much supply for everything and prices plummet far too quickly.
As a crafter myself, I find it extremely difficult and expensive to keep up with crafters who can craft all of the things. This will allow me to pick a few key specializations and still be competitive in the market.
So long as crafted materials don't fall under these specialties like how Wootz Ingots, Ebony Lumber, Platinum Ingots, etc. are all 4-star crafts and pretty much require Lucis tools AND second master recipe books to craft, I'm fine with the specialty system. Specialty crafts should be finished items like weapons, armor, consumables, etc.
Why didn't they do a Q&A?
I have Q's and they need some A's!
So what was the video they showed in the warm up then? The one with a Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist and Ninja in a dungeon?
You can change "specialization" with paying those special tomes...
If we can buy BiS gear with those special tomes just like fighting classes, well... it may becomes fun...
But really? More currency AGAIN ?!
At beginning i thought, crap grinding shit with weekly cap...
But at secund thought and with looking how it works fine for fighting classes i begin to think it could be a good idea - still all depends on pricing!
If you need one week just to change specializing, then how you should buy the gear? and so on... We dont have YEARS to master a class, next patch improves and adds more...
Same with that special skill you get as specialist: does it simple add chances to not fail - fighting RNG or is it needed to finish high level crafts? We just dont know enough yet to say if its good or bad, but somehow i become a bad feeling thinking about it...
I feel a little disappointed from Live Letter, they announced they would do Q and A at the beginning but cut it short.
I do like hearing that if you want to become a fisher for your life, you have tomes now for DoL. Supaaa Seriousu-ness ^^
Airship FC please look forward to it.
Also the Loot master - All greed mode finally for farm runs. No ninja need hookers anymore. ;p
As you no doubt saw, the show turned out to be a lot more packed than we anticipated with the Heavensward presentation taking up quite a bit of time.
That said, don't worry! We still have all the questions we gathered for this round that we can use in an upcoming Letter from the Producer LIVE. :)
I don't even know why they teased us and bothered for us to post questions. Informative LL but no Q&A. Very disappointed. Wouldn't have been if they wouldn't make the Q threads... but this was lame. So annoyed.
This is what happens if you don't rehearse!
Logistics is a pain. Even if you rehearse, there may be things you forgot to cover in the rehearsal. Also, it takes away the genuine feeling of a Live letter to just read a script through.
Things like this happen, calm yer jets people. I do wonder if we can get a release date for the Benchmark out of the community team, seeming it was likely one of the Q&A questions.
How disappointing and ill prepared. You can't even do a non-live Q & A? There are a lot of issues this game has we would like a legitimate update on and once again, you all hold it off and shrug it to the side. Good job team. Always something new to disappoint us with.
PSN release date yet?
This live letter got me very excited for 3.0! The opening cinematic made me mad and sad all over again!
Did you even see how tired Yoshi was? That man needs sleep, yet instead he's working his ass off to keep things moving along. I believe everyone can survive a missed Q&A. The most important thing is for the expansion to hit on schedule with minimal issues, and, even though we are paying customers, we must also exercise a degree of consideration for the team of developers that service us instead of acting like a complete tool.
Lack of QA is disappointing but not surprising. "Answers" isn't the theme song anymore, after all.
But if Yoshi wanted to take the time and answer a chunk of the questions asked without calling for a video crew, it would be both easier on him and tide us over until the live QA a month from now.
I seem to remember this thing he used to write, he called it a "Letter from the--" Something. It feels like it's been ages since we got one. Maybe I'm misremembering...
Please do the Q & A very soon instead (much sooner than the next Live Letter).
Logistics are tough & it's hard to plan for such a crowd but it's really important to everyone who spent a lot of their time & efforts into those questions you asked for to be responded to at this Live Letter XX.
It doesn't have to be live, just write Q/A responses... you guys already have done that sort of summary in the past anyway.
Please create time for it & I ask humbly that you please do not put it off until the next Live Letter.
We will have a whole laundry list of new questions we want answered for that one.
Not only that, we don't want these old questions crowding out the new ones, ultimately creating a scenario where fewer questions are answered over all & we must wait much longer.
Please give us the answers to our Live Letter XX Questions far before the next Live Letter in May.
Sometime in this coming week would be great!
Thank you for considering this SE, awesome work on LLXX!!!
Looks like the au ra males will have more of the typical "cool" anime hairstyles. One even looked like Sora's, lol

Since it's SquareEnix these days, I've got this tiny little hope that the new DRG LB will be the Nibelung Valesti attack from Valkyrie Profile.

Yeah, listen to Plumpy. I'm not surprised you guys didn't do a Q&A with the Live Letter being over 2 and a half hours long with just the new info, but there is no reason why you should wait for another live letter. We don't need flashy photos or live footage ofYoshie-P trying to stay awake to appreciate getting some answers to the many questions plaguing the community. A simple forum post would suffice.
Specialist system aw man we can only choose three:(
Will dol classes also have this specialty system?
Master looter system? So if party leader doesn't want me to get a loot I need for my main class it's his call? Can someone please explain this?
So we are only getting level 5 material I thought we would get 5 and 6 at least:(
(This isn't the Q&A thread, dude.)
I enjoyed the discussion. Most of my Heavensward questions were answered by the slides. My only wish would have been them showing more of the benchmark footage that leaked while setting up. All in all, I'm even more excited for Heavensward and if all the zones are like the one they showed off, I am really going to enjoy myself.
I think the party loot is only available with full premades, hopefully. if not this can be pretty easy to abuse.
So an all greed premade party can leave a slot available and then the person who joins (via DF) and qualifies for the need is effectively blocked out and must need?
Disappointing that it is only 50 hours for all quests in 3.0. Means everyone will have all level 60 jobs within 3 months again..... It disappoints!
