So were getting Au Ra soon, but what other races do you want to see in the future?

Viera is the only natural choice as the next race. Not only that, it would bring in the most people to the game out of any suggestions period. Give us Viera!

I know this has been suggested many times before but Ronso! not only are they badass, but there is already so much concept art on these guys. So fleshing them out and creating character models wouldn't be hard as creating some other race outside of the currently existing list of final fantasy races.

Honestly? Something BEASTLY!!! I want to like the Au Ra, I really do, but they still look "skinny" to me. I want something thick and muscular, without being a complete oaf like the Roegadyn. Something that looks like it could really hurt you with its bare hands, yet athletic enough to run you down if you try to escape. Something truly intimidating!

In contrast, I would also *LOVE* to see FF12's Moogles. Give them a different name if need be, and maybe a little cleaner-looking fur, but I just love their design.

Genomes could be the next small races (if anyone hasn't played FFIX, Zidane is a genome)

This would be a good idea for the next race. We only have one short stature race right now so they are not as represented as taller races are. After they add Au Ra it is like 1/6 races that are short by nature.

Ivalice Moogles.

Another short race that isn't human would be nice. Plus Ivalice Moogles are just overall amazing and cute. Seeing them running around would brighten up any day.

Something that either doesn't have a tail, or proper modifications on armor to accommodate the tail. While I'm interested to play Au Ra, I'm worried about how the thick tails will clip through 90% of armor. I have a shorter than average miqo'te at the moment, so even armor that HAS a tail slot looks bad because my tail doesn't line up with the armor properly. It's unfortunate that the more unique you make a species look, the more clipping problems will occur. I already forsee the Au Ra horns sticking through every weapon in 3.0.

If nothing else, I hope that whatever race comes next will have very androgynous males. With the exception of Lalafell, this has has nothing but buffed, wide-shouldered males that really annoy me. I want to play a male whose gender isn't immediately obvious, much like boys in anime.

I like the idea of an Aegyl race, but they would need to drop ps3 support and add hi-res textures for fur/feathers. I am tired of them adding fur/feathers and looking worse than TERA when this game should be superior graphically.

Man you really do take offense easily. I wasn't talking down to you and I wasn't acting all high and mighty like I was better than you. I wasn't trying to walk all over you either. I was making a statement that you took offense to like I was trying to make you feel bad or something and I responded to it the way I usually do when I deal with people thinking that I'm trying to tear them down.

I mean my last part of my first post talked about a possible race and you could have just ignored what I initially posted or responded to it differently and this whole ordeal would have never happened.

What I would really like (and will never happen because it's impractical) are truly non-humanoid species/races.

OTOH FFXI lets people play as monsters, maybe someday FFXIV will have something like that too!

Personally I would like to see completely new races, although they could be named after or be a nod to an existing race in the FF series.

While Viera is a popular choice, I feel that Miq's already fill that niche for now. If they do add them to the game, they should be tall with long limbs, somewhere between Hyur and Elezen.

The only things that I can really think of is maybe an avian inspired race, no wings though as that would be a clipping nightmare, and maybe a mechanical race, maybe created ages ago with Allagan technology and something story/lore related has caused them to awaken.

I actually did try to talk to you about the race, you just focused on the part where I said laughingly you don't need to bold and capitalize to get my attention. I would really like a Red XIII race too, I always used him in my party in FFVII. If not him then maybe a shape shifting race or job. I know WoW is a touchy subject around here sometimes but I played it for awhile and I miss my Druid a lot sometimes. It was the only game I played where you could shape shift and I really enjoyed it.

There were two types of Gnolls actually, but they were still the same race. Just certain few Gnolls had the ability to stand on their hind legs under certain circumstances.

When it was originally thought that Fenrir would be a primal, I had speculated that the Gnolls would be the beastmen tied to him.

In FFXI, Gnolls were called Wolfmen instead of beasts, so they are a sentient being and would most likely be a good race choice if SE's next race were to be a Mammalian Beastmen like race.

Considering this is a Japanese game, I'm quite surprised we don't have this yet. The only lucky character to get this treatment is Alphinaud... :(

Now if only they could allow different builds for the existing races... That would be awesome!

I will never not be a Miqo'te. That said, I would love to see a large variety of races, particularly something new and uncommon. I'm a huge fan of customization, and I think it would be great to have like, a dozen races at least to choose from.

Got tired all the half-human half-animal people. Too many tails and furries around. Maybe in the future we could play as Garleans. They have their own style and a creepy third eye. I can guess a Garlean group opposing the Emperor and fight alongside with Eorzeans. Sooner or later we will visit the Empire lands after all to stop them. Sooner or alter this will happen but I think that's kinda too far from now.

We would probably have to keep within the spec of humanoid due to armour design. They are working within the design constraints of Playstation system. Its not like pc games where they just go to bad get a new one.

With that said a plant race cousins of the sylph maybe. Is there a full world map not just the current area but a whole over view that might give ideas for future area/races?
