I believe the new 2.5 dungeon drops are desynth/tradable for the same reason the 2.4 i90 drops were ; Soldiery, CT2, and CT3 all drop either comparable(i100) or higher gear. If you are actually wearing the i100 dungeon drops, its because you've been out for 7 months and didn't upgrade your weathered gear/ T1-5 gear, which is easily done now by grinding out a few runs of CT2

While I agree, SE reps have stated their policy to have them not be desynthable when just released, and cited that as the reason certain crafting equipment is not desynthable. So, it's just inconsistent.

The 2.4 drops were items that were already in the game before the 2.4 dungeons were released, so it seemed to me that those were desynthable since they were not new items and plenty of people already had them all already.

good point on the consistency policy, very true. Btw, loved your desynth guide. Helped me power level BSM when I probably wouldn't have and been happy with GSM. Now onto ARM and I'm all set for 3.0 dungeon drop desynths.

Check my alt; Jillia Blight. 1-40 (plus other class leveled to unlock whm) in less than 8 hours total play time on the character (and up to date on all storyline quests), still even have the sprout next to the name. Will probably take another 3-4 hours to get to 50 (being generous, since DD speed runs are fast). Can EASILY farm full sets of soldiery gear in less than a day just doing primals (especially shiva hm since you'll get sold bonus almost every time in DF). Prae runs in DF only take about 20 minutes (12 in pre made), and if you DF you're guaranteed the new person soldiery bonus. Just from doing storyline quests from 1-50 you end up with almost 2 million gil if you were thrifty. You can even fill out the blanks in your gear with i110 crafted to save some grinding time. Totally plausible to do in 2-4 days... but I digress.

Also, dungeons are a horribly inefficient way of gearing up due to RNG. Just the other day I ran three dungeons on my low-level ARC and saw a grand total of one piece of gear that was of any use to me. Everything else that dropped was either caster, healer, or tank gear. You're much better off taking the gil you get from the dungeon and buying something from the MB or an NPC if you're in that much need of gear.

This is not another mere need/greed looting problem, because we already have other threads discussing about this.

This is about looting in JP servers. If you're only playing in NA/EU server and never ever been to JP servers, then please stop commenting, because you all are clearly didn't understand the problem we english speaker are dealing IN JP server.

Again for all NA/EU players who never been to JP server, please just shut it. These 5 pages clearly tells that all of you still think this as just another "general" need/greed loot discussion.

I think BobbinT is a prejudice against NA/EU players.

This problem isn't unique to JP servers.
Unfortunately even i130 wearing players have a need to grab the gear to hand in for GC seals.

You really can't blame the players for that. At most you can ask politely at the dungeon start that you are looking for certain gear.
Even asking people to "pass" is probably asking for too much. I think it's more fair if you only ask them to roll Greed against you if you're both looking to grab it.

Seriously I'm up to the part of the relic quest myself that requires a crap ton of Grand Company Seals (80,000 to be exact). Bombard Cores aren't cheap. When you get up to this part you will be looking to get seals any way you can.

I originally came from Sargatanas, a US server (was originally Lindblum before server merge in 1.0). I HAD to move to JP server because the latency were so bad compared with 1.0 days. What I didn't realize later on is how hard english speaker trying to reach out JP players in JP servers. Had latency not being issues, I rather go back to Sargatanas rather than stuck in this server which is so hard to converse unless you can speak/type japanese. Even I have more enjoyable time playing Final Fantasy XI since servers aren't so divided regionally, unlike XIV.

And I ask this for NA/EU server: Do you ever see shouts/yells/pf or anything that says "EN ONLY / EU ONLY". And how many "JP ONRY" you find in JP servers? This has been a huge dilemma since FF XI days which is more than a decade away.

So I tell you this again: if you never felt how you're being treated in JP servers, then you have totally no idea what we english speaker been dealing with. And I can see posters here came from US/EU servers.

But the loot "problem" happens just as much on English servers than Japanese. He only spent a FEW WEEKS on a American/English server. That's not very long at all to form a well conceived opinion. I'd say 90% of my runs since 2.0 has everyone needing on everything regardless of ilvl.

Yes, i did read this. In his post though he then does not complain about the language barrier you are talking about, he's complaining about the loot system in general and the fact that players with higher ilvl roll need on stuff they have no use for in terms of gear progression. That is NOT a jp server thing, ppl do this on every datacenter.

You might be correct, assuming OP only stays short while in english server. But me, I stay more than just weeks. I'm one of the legacy players that already lived from 1.0 era, where loot system are much worse than what we have now. But even with all that, I still consider english speaking server are way better than my current one, again... if not for the lame latency problem since Sargatanas decides to be in US territory. In 1.0, my ping was around 150 ms, but last time before I have no choice but to transfer server, I get like 300+ ms. Currently I'm having around 100 ms in this server.

As with 1.0 loot system, if any of you legacies still remembers it, loots just drop randomly to one of party members, but he/she can trade to other person before time runs out. The huge problem is that there's tend to be ppl ninja-ed your loot away, some of them using the "sorry, I forgot to trade". Remember Hamlet Defense where players need to farm 9 beast coins to access the fabled "Relic Reborn" quest? I've been dealing numerous problems where the coins dropped to random person, and that said person immediately exit the instance while it was supposed to be passed to the right person when we agreed before running the instance. But you know what? I still actually have a great time running Hamlet's for like 200 times, while I already finished my coin farms in around 100 runs. You can even check my legacy achievement page, which shows exactly the total run I had there.

Despite the dramas, I had so much fun because I also have fun talking with alot of players there, good and bad. This continues to 2.0 where I still have around 3 months playing on same server.

Too bad I had to move, due to running Titan HM with 300+ ms were just too frustating for me.

And as for now, I still felt a little regret leaving old server because of the new problems I'm facing. With the huge population of JP players I'm dealing with, I had no choice but to use japanese text literally if I'm trying to survive playing here. Well... maybe not so much since there's still quite few amount of english speaker here.

Still, because of this problem, I've already faced many problems such as:
- Kicked from party for trying to talk in english.
- Kicked from party for just using (auto-translation dictionaries).
- Kicked from party without even being given a reason. Only had like 'helloes' in japanese text on beginning of run and that's it.
- Kicked from party for winning a loot, which is why this thread existed anyways.
- Black-listed for just trying to join their party finder and found out that I was a 'gaijin' (translated as outsides or non JP). What are my choices when 99% of PF list filled with JP, even some of them using the "JP-ONRY" sentence? Tried to make an english PF, only cricket sounds remains for hours.
- Alot of them are really notorious for being early-pullers when doing hunts, especially if it's JP prime hours. According to translated sources (unconfirmed though), they did that because they values their time more and don't like to waste time waiting. They still notify their hunt LS/FC, but after that they'll just start pulling right away.
- and many mores...

To summarize, the difference between english server and JP server:
- English server: Despite the end going good or turning sour, at least we can talk to each others, and easily realize which ones are the bad ones.
- JP server: Imagine playing mute sound playing with them the entire time. You'll have almost no idea what happened next. You even have to fool them thinking we're JP too by using japanese text and avoid entirely using auto-trans. Worst is that some of them can detect if you're using weird sentence, especially if those comes from google translate.

If I want to take the extreme for enjoying the game, I have to literally move my living to english speaking territories so that I can have decent latency and not having to deal with unfamiliar language. But that would be too silly. Learning japanese are not as easy as it sounds either, and even if somehow I did, JP players have quite different attitudes than english speakers and we have to try adapting to them. As of now, I have to cope with my current conditions. Doesn't mean I like it though. :p

So, despite ppl trying to generalize this thread as mere looting problems, I felt this case are more unique, especially since I've been living between english and JP server. And so I ask any of you, if you do play on both region servers, then please enlightened me if JP situations aren't as bad as you think.

I've never seen any of this happen. In fact, most of the problematic party are usually english players from *cough*Tonberry*cough* most of the time. Some Japanese are even nice enough to use auto-translate function. Also I joined JP only PF group for T10 and T11 with my client being underlined clearly English, with soldiery bonus once, even. Nobody cares.
