Zodiac Weapon quest. leaving it till RNG update.

The relic quest line is a test of perseverance. That's how it was described to us recently. It relies on a mixture of luck and pure grind, both of which contribute to this and quite effectively, too.

I can see the frustration when you've been at the same dungeon for a while, and this will be worse when it's the last one you need I'm sure. But unless you really need to grind this weapon out for some reason, just take your time at it. It's not important how many runs X person took to complete the same goal. It's just a personal project you can work towards.

I've taken a break from it since the patch update, which helps to just break up the annoyance of not seeing a drop (especially from dungeons I'm not a fan of). If it's bothering you, though, then do the same. Games are meant to be fun and rewarding, and if this particular thing isn't doing that, then stop doing it. It's not as if having the i125 weapon is necessary.

I literally hit 50 runs on WP and have been running for many nights and have yet to get a drop. While the other ones have been between 1-9 this one has been ridiculous I'm starting to wonder if it's bugged.

It's not, that's just the nature of random. Technically you could do it a million times and never see the drop. The chance would just be infinitesimally small. Keep trying and you'll hopefully get it.

I trashed the Relic weapon quest chain time ago, and I still are happy of that decision. Yes at the end the relic is 2nd or 3rd best of the game, but I really cannot care, when I can get the 3rd or 4th best in a fraction of the time, not to mention that will suffice anyway to aim for the best 1st of the game.

I treat Relic weapon as just as a vanity item for braggin'. Kudos to who got it, I recognize their hard time and effort. But I really am not into it.

Some of the poetics weapons have crappy secondaries. Not to mention the relic will upgrade further.

Yes, true, the relic is supposed to be 2nd or 3rd best in game ever.

But the drawback, is when game progresses, the time and effort to get it is more and more, making it a no-go for anyone that starts playing XIV today. I think everyone remembers vanilla XIV RR, you make the three hard primals, some tomes farm, and you had the 2nd best weapon in your hands. Today that is no more. I think devs need to take account that starting from zero today for a relic weapon is much more effort than go aim for best in game directly.

When next steps of relic will be implemented, that wapon will become something for only the veterans that already were on-pair with the relic stages, and a lolwut for anyone that go play FF first day tomorrow, IF the actual steps will be not eased and stay as they are now.

Not entirely. Its just a % Chance. You can easily redesign it by increasing or decreasing the drop rate. And you can make it well designed by estimating the reward to effort ratio. But I will not argue peoples tolerance and reward/effort ratio will be different... but so is everything... they just gotta do what they feel is fair or balanced, or whichever they think will keep people doing it without making it too easy... but not too hard that people give up.

In this case, IDK if they did or not. Not there yet :D - I'm sure i'll experience the joys enough.

But personally, I'd rather grind 12 Atmas at RNG than do another Zodiac book. Idk, thats just me... still think a middle ground is possible, but in an MMO its not so much about middle ground as it is longevity of the event itself. SE wants this to be time consuming so you spend time on it... idk.

The biggest problem with RNG in the relic quest is progress.
You CANNOT continue with the next part of the quest until you have been LUCKY.
You cannot do animus at all until you have been lucky with atma RNG
you cannot finish zodiac (and do whatever the next part is) until you have been lucky.

PROGRESS should not be gated behind RNG luck

coil loot is RNG but progressing through the turns isn't, see the difference?

Other portions of the quest have already been eased (atma drop rates, fate timers reduced, alexandrite drop rates, doubled light rates). There's no reason to believe that the Zodiac portion won't also be eased as time passes.

Game give nice opportunity to have all classes on one character, i got whm, sch and drg lvl 50 and plan to got all classes cause i like to change class i play....and here comes zodiac weapon which i got (let's say) on my drg which is boring to play for me atm and want play another class....and now i dont think i want to do same grind again, dont even mention other classes i want to play :p

they have made some steps way to easy tho i mean the double lights implemented in 2.5 made it way to easy to reach next phase ._.

Do I live? just wha? But delivery cost more so your point?

Relic wise I know it's optional and I wont be quitting the game over it, not sure where people are getting the idea from. I'll just be focusing on something else more then I will do on my relic.

I know the OP in game. He's a good dude, runs a lot of different content. Seen him around the server since I joined this one, haven't seen any big time off while he waits for things to get easier.

There certainly should be a limit on the RNG of some kind. It's silly that people like myself, have to do the same dungeon so many times, while others can just breeze through it. This issue is really going to become much more apparent on 2nd+ go around with the quest. Simply because you can do several steps together now. You'll have all your spring waters, and come upon this quest, and get slapped in the face with RNG. You'll be like WTH man common. I guess on the flip side you'll be able to make some gil on the MB, well if your smart. I think 90% of the player base has no clue about selling soldiery/GC items for enormous gil. I keep hearing all the time people talking about being capped on there stuff for long periods. That's hundreds of thousands of gil in the trash smh. There's getting to the point where there is plenty to do in this game. We don't need such extreme RNGs like this anymore, well imo at least.

They can do it like in the original relic quest from 1.22
100% dopchance if the dungeon get cleared within a super-speedrun.
