Going back to JP servers...

Then there was time on mog ex that i said "<- warrior" with auto translation which would means that i'll take warriors, hence the other tank also took warrior and when let the paladin went to healers, the 2nd time, i said warrior again and he took warrior again.. And i tanked both paladin and warrior.. Another wipe... Vote abandon initiated but rejected, the 3rd times i just let the mog hit healers while waiting for him to pick either which he took paladin and i got clears, and 3 commendations..
And in shiva ex i say "north", "north" "east", "outside", and seeing the other tank took thr same spot, then vote abandon due to "foreign way"..

On p3 shiva always go staff first -> bow -> staff/sword -> bow -> repeat.. When shiva wears staff, she will twirl around and will rise up on sword, that'll happen before the icon actually change, but bow is always a sure think every even stance..

If by what you said, tank swap at bow:
2nd Phase : Staff --> Bow(TANK SWAP) -- > Staff/Sword(tank swap again?) --> Bow --> Repeat

Doesn't that means you just added in an unnecessary step to tank swap twice in every rotation?

You understand it wrong.. In western pop strat along with some people in tonberry who isnt japanese and never actually use DF:
P 3 = staff -> bow (with 1 vulnerebility debuff) -> sword (swap), if staff dont swap -> bow
In jp pop strat
P3 = staff -> bow (swap with 0 debuff) -> staff/sword -> bow (swap again)

And this simple misunderstanding is what causing wipes.. So unnecessary

The real question is what party were you playing in that required the tanks to get the vulnerability debuff? I'm on a "western" server and I have NEVER seen it done that way. Unless something is being lost in translation here. Are you referring to the debuff caused by her AoEs or the debuff applied by each weapon (sword/staff)? Also swapping at every bow, regardless of whether the next weapon is sword or staff, is actually MORE unnecessary because you're always going to have the maximum number of swaps every run. By waiting for each weapon to come, RNG allows you to minimize tank swaps to when they are absolutely needed (and sometimes not needed). My last run RNG had it so Shiva never pulled out sword once in all of the last phase. Because there was no need for a tank swap at all, it not only made life easier on the tanks but made life a TON easier on the healers as well. If tanks were swapping every Bow regardless, it would have just been unnecessary.

I'm not saying RNG will always play out this nicely, but when it does it behooves you not to hinder it.

If you're talking about solo tanking it and finding it more necessary.. By all means go with it.. This topic i brought up simply because there is a difference in strategy and language client which lead to discriminations.. Whether which method proves to be easier, efficient, and all of that would be unnecessary to discuss for as long as winning is guaranteed.. In df setup at chaos DC, it's actually a ton harder for healers to top up tank and i can prove it with my experience and tanks are required to face shiva north while she's changing to bow stance, hence taking the icicle vulnerability debuff. I wouldnt simply blame people who couldnt get behind shiva at glass dance simply because of incapability in knowing the mechanic, but rather difference in strategy being used..

While i wouldnt know why JP use the strategy in your question as long as it leads to winning, it shouldnt matter at least to me.

Over the last 2 days I have been grinding shiva EX with a friend cause he wanted a weapon, I play on tonberry, so I am within the elemental data centre and do the JP method, from what I can see after tanking Shiva EX for 2 days is that when you swap at bow phase, you as the tank pulling her into place will take a vulnerability up, simply because the other tank ( assuming he knows whats up ) will swap with you then so after the insta kill bow attack has gone off, he as a fresh tank with no debuff on him is ready to go, generally with most of his CD's ready to go to and might have a weapon debuff up that will fall off before she finishes bow phase and pulls out another weapon

This thread is kinda like stepping in a pile of shit, but I wanted to add some pieces of info I've learned from playing on a JP server (primarily) as well as on NA servers:

1. If you join a JP PF that has certain requirements without understanding said requirements (and asking if EN is ok to join via tell first), you ARE going to get blisted for being an ass, and rightly so.

2. There are elitist assholes everywhere.

3. There are awesome people everywhere. Key thing... find a good FC. Whenever FC mates complain about a particularly wretched dungeon run, my response will always be, "go with friends."

4. There is a LOT less griefing and trash talking on JP servers in my experience. Most of the time, if JP players don't like something, they will just quietly leave. Saying "oh, an EN player" is definitely a thing (and not in a good way). I have one JP member of my FC who told me "I thought all EN players were assholes." ><;

5. Know the JP strat for stuff, not the NA/EU one. Majority rules.

6. Parties on JP servers are more likely to wait for you in case of DC or wipes. In primal fights, it's usually three wipes before vote abandon. On any server, most people skip cutscenes, so if you want to watch these after a dungeon has been out a while, you'll still need to go with friends.

7. RMT tells aren't a thing. We may see one every 3-5 months. THM bots are everywhere though (not Balmung level of everywhere, but still present.)

I'm assuming it's just added safety to stupid proof Bow/Glass Dance. I'm guessing some tanks just eat the vulnerability to guarantee that Shiva will be facing the opposite direction of the dodge spot after circle icicles before using Glass Dance. It's not necessary though if everyone knows what they are doing but it's kind of like "marked moves" in T6. Lowering the risk.

Nah. When you swap at bow, you ONLY swap at bow. It's easier on the tanks but can be rough on the healers; if she switches weapons in an unfavorable order, you end up with 8 stacks on the current weapon.

Second table indicates people who has x number of mounts. So for example, that makes 10 people across JP datacenters who have all 7 mounts, 0 in NA, and 3 in EU.

Maybe if NA players stopped buying gil and learned to play... I mean I get almost 5 gil seller messages an hour on Behemoth server. They must be making a killing on NA servers to be THIS active. Plus bots that never get banned no matter how much they are reported.

People selling runs in NA is extremely profitable apparently... they also say that their clients are mostly gil buyers. So NA servers are flooded with people who paid to get to end-game and can't even play their characters properly. I'm just basing my information on what I see and have heard. I also can't verify how it is in JA or EU servers. I just know that my main complaint right now is people who suck at the game REALLY bad. I mean even when I try to explain to them and help them and tell them what they need to do it's to no avail... they'll continue being stupid and I'm literally getting tired of it.

I seriously doubt that information is accurate. They're no more "flooded" with gil-buyers than the JP or EU servers. But if you don't like NA for some reason, it might be a good idea to transfer elsewhere.

I was in a shell like that in FFXI and I said no because everyone came together as a team not because of you, he tried to kick me out of shell and I left before that could happen, reason is i was tired of seeing him talk crap about other players when they werent on and acting buddy buddy when they were on.

SOA got like that, people say you need a high end sword to join the run but how are you supposed to get the sword if you cant join the run, which made zero sense and one of the reasons I stopped playing FFXI its like SE said SOA was made for elite players it was very hard to get into partys near the end, I figured out how to gain high weapons by joining a 3 hour boss fights dino, shark but when it came to the 18 people alliance that weapon wasnt good enough.

On a personal level, I refuse to farm for ponies simply because I choose not to. If one drops while I'm farming a for a weapon/accessory I'll roll on it, but having the primal ponies will never be an "incentive" for me. This is mostly because they don't offer any functional advantage over the other mounts, so why subject myself to the RNG when I already play with limited hours (I work 56 hours a week + time spent with girlfriend/friends). If I wanted to gather all 7 mounts I could end up spending 3 months worth of playtime doing it, time that could be spent roleplaying, farming gear, learning coil, hanging with game friends, etc. For someone in my situation, farming primal mounts would be one of the more asinine choices to make in the game. It wouldn\\'t be fair to assess my ability to play this game because of it, I've had my hands on almost every primal weapon at some point, but I have to pick and choose where to spend my time.

In my experience in the eu server, people also can do it but dont want to simply because they dont believe in randoms, calling them incompetence simply because they are a random, while cheering up and defending other players which comes from the same fc/ls wont critique thhem even if they fail.. And if the random makes ever the slightest mistake or things they dont like, they will badmouth em in FC or LS channel.. It'll be a huge badmouthh if the E players happen to find the random to be F.. With duty finder out of the way and less used in farming things, of course it'll be less ponies..

Japanese players in my experience, are a hell of a lot more polite and patient than NA players. You get the odd crowd of asshats in each community. Go where you are comfortable playing. Its your game, you pay for it.

To OP, elitists are everywhere, people are just mostly selfish and immature, these two things you cant change, until those people get hit hard on the head, they will only believe they have the right way to go about.
