And you think that's the only thing up for sale?
Well clearly they will sell power just to give people a reason to say "Told you so"
Put Allegan pieces on the cash shop
Why are you guys asking them to make you pay for things that should already be in the game? What is wrong with you?
No. Paying real money to skip a portion of the game (and, technically, an optional part of the game since there are better weapons than our relics) IS pay to win. This is a game where you have to at least put in some effort, not freaking Farmville. If you want to skip some grindy aspect of the game, then please quit and go back to Farmville where you can throw real money to skip quest objectives.
Because our subscriptions are literally funding the development of the game and future content. It's what we're paying for. If it's developed for the game and isn't part of an expansion, we're entitled to it by paying our subscription. That's literally what a subscription is for, and has been for.
I highlighted the problem. No, you aren't.
Your subscription doesn't mean that Square has to make every ounce of vanity content in the game. You're assuming that that content wouldn't still be unfinished/buried if it wasn't for the cash shop.
No problem with it at all. I'm not sure how someone who ends up being the fantasy version of a hoarder equates with being pay to win.
We haven't received anything extra in the cash shop we wouldn't have received already. Your argument holds water like a sieve. Everything was JUST fine prior to its introduction.
Hell we even have an Odin trial coming that could have easily dropped the horse. A mount that was designed and included in the game's files for months before the cash shop showed up.
and that means that the mount model is available in game for player use? Oh right, it doesn't.
Right, so no actual substantive response. Figured as much.
Or I am a realist that understands how business works and can recognize when I'm seeing knee jerk reactions and hyperbole.
and you accuse me of not understanding development?
I'm going to go on a limb and say that I do understand how development works seeing that I'm a on a development team. I'm not seeing this doing any damage to their fans or their reputation at this point.
I can also only see the massive ammount of work it took to do that could only be justified by the cash shop right?

All the work for the model was complete and implemented in game already, except for making the mount available to players. Even without being on the dev team I think you'd really be hard pressed to say there was any difficulty getting it into the game for players (icons are really fast to make, from what I've seen at least). Hardest part was probably setting up the cash shop page to sell the thing lol.
SE has the right to sell whatever they want*, but Odin mount (imo) should have been in game subscription based content because it was /already/ in game.
*and consumers to stop paying when they feel like it is no longer a value purchase.
I didn't say you did.
I was poking fun at your statement "I'm a on a development team" because it says nothing to me, and for all I know you could just be lying. I'm not saying that you are lying, because you could very well be telling the truth. It's just that throwing that out there like that in no way gave you more credibility than you had beforehand. Based on what you've said so far I'm still convinced that you have no idea what you're talking about.
It most certainly is immoral when we're already paying them for the game itself, and each month following to continue developing the game.
My point was and is adding something like more HP and what not that be paying to win and it affect game play and such. But as is nothing about the cash shop is affecting the game and if you are affected by seeing other players with cash shop goods then as SE to give the game something to block you from seeing cash shop stuff :P
You see, I really don't care about when people beat things, or how they beat them, because it in no way effects me or prevents me from doing them the way that they were intended to be done. I prefer to do the fights how they were originally intended. If other people want to cheat or whatever, let them, that's their choice to spoil the experience.
Do I really want something like that to happen though when it would bother other players? No.
Try to look at it from another person's perspective.
Why is "as long as it ain't pay to win I don't mind!" the go to line in the sand people set on the cash shop subject? the game isn't 100% endgame, just like it's not 100% social/vanity. I think the cash shop should only have fantasia/name-server change. but if it's going to have ingame items, I'd like it to be silly tacky over the top things like the ice skull from blizzard's shop.
The current cash shop is bad because it has things that are part of in game content. Like wedding dresses, and Odin's horse (To me that's like having the Magitech armor in the shop, it just doesn't belong there) These shouldn't be in the cash shop, nor should the events items be there either.
Polar Bear mount, Armored Goobbue, Albino Ahriman <--- these are cash shop items. these make sense.
You seem to have a very skewed perception of the meaning "complete". Here, let me show you what it actually means.
1 com·plete
adjective \kəm-ˈplēt\
: having all necessary parts : not lacking anything
: not limited in any way
: not requiring more work : entirely done or completed
Cash shop aside, the game is actually rushed and needs polish. That's why we have weird out of place things like classes, why leveling gear models are unfinished without their belts like they said they'll fix them before release but didn't. We can even say that rushing the game out the door is why we have 1 battle stance for all races, and why we have hair clipping with gear, and miqote tails just clipping through gear instead of having slits for them.
I'm sure you won't care what i say anyway but how exactly is Odin's horse something that's bad? his fight has yet to be put in the game and are you 100% he was going to drop a mount? how do you know he won't drop i130 odin weps or gear? did i miss a memo by SE saying this mount was in fact coming to this game as a mount other then cash shop? Anyways i love my mount and am very happy with it and as for the wedding stuff lets see if that's actually happening ty
That's a whole other point though, that's not part of a cash shop discussion. I do agree with your point, it's just incredibly off-topic.
There's nothing that the cash shop has that makes the game more complete. Nothing necessary, nothing that "unlimits" one's potential in any significant way, closest would be the 2-person marriage mount but that's not exactly a useful thing. And Yoshi P has specifically said it'll stay that way.
Oh I care very much! and like I said, I believe that it doesn't belong in the cash shop. It's not a quirky cash shop item like the Polar bear mount I mentioned earlier. Odin is part of the game lore, we fight him in a fate that has its own unique weather. The guy is in the opening cinematic for pete's sake!
I firmly believe he plays a bigger role in the story, I'm not sure why they didn't get to him yet. That's why having his mount in the cash shop is like having the Magiteck mount in there. It just does not belong in the cash shop.
