It is not a joke and it is not funny. It is an unhelpful put down for no good reason.

People seem to be struggling with basic sarcasm. Had to edit it for you.
THE FORUMS AND TURN 5 ARE SUPER SERIOUS GUYS.
"I didn't laugh at it, therefore no-one found it funny!"
Please step down off your rickety soap box and lighten up a little.
It's pretty obvious. Unless you're suffering form severe brain-damage or conspicuous social ailments.
There I fixed those for you because your assumptions are not fact and no more right or wrong than theirs. In fact since you took the step to edit that OP for her to make it "obvious" it was sarcasm, couldn't she have done the same if she wanted to? Or a quick reply to someone who was confused saying it was? One could surmise that since they didn't, they were in fact not being sarcastic.
While I assume it is sarcasm just as you did, neither of us have any way of knowing for sure so stop being an ass to people whose opinions differ from ours just because you think you know it all.
After reading what you said though (especially the brain damage part), I did get a chuckle out of the soap box comment. Pot meet kettle.
I've been told I have some mild Asperger's and I do NOT get sarcasm. So you want to insult everyone that is can NOT see your so called implied meanings/feeling in the the text? How about trying to be nice and supportive. Why put some one down about not being world's first? How could that even be remotely funny, sarcasm or not? Why is it so hard to be happy for someone else being happy?
Imagine your friend telling you about how his kid is taking their first steps, and you tell them it is not the worlds first. Or about if his kid grows up and becomes an astronaut and walks on the on the moon, and you tell him it is not the world's first. What does it even mean? Other than making fun of others discounting their progress?
Because this is exactly my point. Over something so small, menial and borderline pointless I've had two angry responses already.
It really really doesn't matter.
Of course they know they're not the world-first group, it's extremely unlike that the OP is going to take offence to that, considering every group since then hasn't been a world first group.
Absolutely no-where in their post does it sate "Lol T5 is old, GG you suck, we hate you, you don't deserve it"
You're making a rather large mountain of a mole-hill.
You've literally just proven my point, in that you were able to brush over it and go "Well that's clearly sarcasm, every group besides BG isn't a world first group".
It's amazing that the forums will always find one thing that they don't like and make a HUGE deal out of it. I baffles me how people could function like that in real life.
I don't feel like sugar-coating it to help the medicine go down better.
Well that wasn't specifically directed at that person in particular, but more so for all swarming angry posts over something so hilariously menial.
I simply pointed out that people were getting overly vicious on something clearly intended as a small joke, taking it as the most offensive, cruel and hurtful thing next to telling Hitler jokes at Oktoberfest.
You can't expect everyone to go; "WELL DONE, YOU DID GOOD", "Time 4 T6!, CONGRATULATIONS xoxoxoxoxo!!!!"
I am frustrated by the lack of empathy and support for the new and newer players. I am not angry at raiders, unless they are busy putting down other players and saying crap like "not the world's first". I am happy they are clearing T12. There is nothing wrong with that.
It is a mountain of bad attitude, and pretending it is mole-hill is just pretending to be blind. Instead of "not the world's first", how about saying "join our T6 runs and lets get a clear"?
Please don't ever move to or visit the United Kingdom, we practically live of Sarcasm.
If something as simple a SINGLE phrase not even directed at you can cause offense, you need to step back and re-assess the situation.
Something like this shouldn't make you angry.
There's an easy solution for that. START A LEARNING PARTY.
There are more people that have cleared and want to farm it, than people who need to learn or are willing to learn.
Therefore, waiting around for a learning party to come up isn't likely. Simply form you own.
Or consult what this person said if you don't believe me;
So the UK people never say anything genuine? Really? There was no sarcasm only a veiled putdown and a lack of empathy.
But you don't need to go rain on other's people parade either.
Why not? We should all be apathetic and indifferent to people being treated badly? Be complicit to this game's community going to the crappers and become totally toxic? I do my best to counter it, even if it is a sisyphean task. BTW I been around the net enough to know better than to get angry, but I am not going to stay silent.
I knew something was fishy about this thread. A seemingly harmless thread about someone clearing turn 5 that had 5 pages worth of responses.
Well OP, congrats on your clear. This thread turned sour so don't be surprised if it gets locked up or deleted. People seem to find it hard that not everyone share their same state of mind.
It is not about me. And once again the insults fly about people being "handcarried". That is such a distortion of the facts, the vast majority of the players just want an opportunity to learn and progress, but they are NOT welcome. Look on the PF, how many learning parties are there vs how many "no newbies wanted", " must have clear", etc.etc. PFs are there. The facts don't lie.
You are most likely a troll, but currently I have some spare time so I will answer to you.
First of all, please remember that EVERYONE is free to start up their own PF group. If new players are interested in learning fights with other new players, they are completely free to put up as many learning parties as required. Same goes for experienced people - if they want to farm content (thus requiring experienced people), they are free to put up as much PF entries as required.
The fact that there are less "learning parties" than "farm parties" means that, apparently, there are less "new players" than "experienced players". That's all.
Sorry your thread turn into this. Grats on your T5 Clear its pretty tough.
You really want everyone to believe that? Clearing T5 is big deal because even now, not the majority of players have cleared T5, and there are even less players that clear Ramuh EX or Shiva EX, or T6 and up. The evidence is overwhelming that there are far more new/newer players than experienced players. Fact of the matter is the one lone learning PF can go unfilled for hours on end, because there is just not enough people that care to help. I've tried to help, and I've sat in those PFs and wait and see nothing happen until the time PF timer expires. Yet I see clear sellers on the same PF, and all sorts of PFs that says "no newbies wanted".
Bingo!
I use to be in an FC that helped newbies get their T5 clear on the daily, some of them not even knowing any of the mechanics and just plain getting carried. It was sort of pathetic really. The truth is, there are a LOT of groups that can help new people through coil. But if they don't need you for their own progression, you are most likely SOL.
Everyone needs help with coil believe it or not, not just newbies. While you are looking to beat T5 and move onto second coil, there are groups of people who are looking to beat T9 and move onto final coil.
happy lalagurls make me happy!
now it's time to cuddle \(^.^)/
Personal Blogs are that way ------------->
Joking, joking, grats D:
Congrats, OP. Sorry about the thread going to hell.
Nyaruko had to set up his soap box in yet another thread derailing it entirely.
I'll say it again since everything is so off topic and complainy now.
CONGRATS OP!
My linkshell which I formed after the conversation in THIS topic is going to form a party tonight to hit Twintania as well.
Good luck for you and wish us luck for laterz! =D
Who cares Nyaraku. Get over it. He made a joke in poor taste and you derailed half the thread to complain about it. Meanwhile the player who finally got a T5 win get's his congratulations drowned out through your complaints and arguments. This thread was never about that guy who made a poor joke. It was about someone triumphing over T5. Your complaints did nothing more than throw the thread completely off topic. You need to learn to deal with things and walk away. You spent so much time arguing because you can that you didn't stop to think if you even should.
There was always such an option as, oh I dunno. Ignoring the post as back round noise, moving on and just saying congrats to the OP and leaving it as that? Strange notion I know huh.
ANYWAY! big big big BIG congratulations to the OP on beating that vile dragon up and good luck in turn 6!!! :D
Awesome for you! I still have yet to beat Turn 5, too many bad tanks, failed like 18 times now total.
Gratz! I hope you have the same beaming satisfaction on your win that I did when I beat it! On of my fondest 14 experiences seeing that giant head floating there :D Hope you have more fun times ahead!
I should probably log onto FFXIV so I can get Twintania over with.
I may or may not have been busy with Queuelords of Draenor. (Not that I've had to deal with queues as much as those who play on the heavily populated servers. Hurray for playing on low-medium population servers.)
Fun thing is, Nyaruko still has not answered my question.
And yes, I am bumping this because I want her to actually answer :P
