SMNs, Contagion, and You

I have still been having an issue with Contagion not always working after I've clicked on it.

Quite frankly I find that I have to click on it sometime halfway after the cooldown of Wind Blade rather than being able to click it right after a Wind Blade and basically put it in que as the next attack I want her to preform. Using it too soon just doesn't work, I don't know why, it just doesn't. What ends up happening is that Garuda will just continue to use Wind Blade over and over like she always does (on Obey) and then I have to click on Contagion again. Usually I have to spam the button 3-4 times right before Wind Blade's cooldown is up just to make sure Contagion goes off when I want it to.

This can be extremely frustrating. Pre 2.3 I never had this issue.

Though, I can say that I have never had a problem with Enkindle.

I see. I still do not entirely believe that the Enkindle issue has been resolved however. I still frequently experience a significant delay in the cast for it from my pet. It often takes Garuda 5 seconds or more to cast it and if I use any action while it is going off, it just doesn't go off at all. I shouldn't be expected to wait and waste precious GCDs...

I also still have issues with Contagion and I always have, to be honest. It seemed to me that, even though the action was registered in the queue, it was not ever first in queue or the action with highest priority in Garuda-Egi's queue, so she would always cast Wind Blade instead. Only way to resolve it was to spam it a million times.

Why can't they just simply make pet skills interrupt whatever the pet is currently doing, and use the skill immediately?

As of last night (~11:00 EDT), Enkindle and Contagion still requires multiple inputs to register on my end.

When they fix something, they break something else. It always happens and I always expect it to. I wonder when it will be working like it's supposed to... Hmmm...

I notice that sometimes my pet will not switch to my current target after the target they are attacking dies unless I specifically press obey/sic again on my current target. Is this the way it is supposed to be? I only switched to SMN rather recently, and I see this sometimes happening and sometimes not.

Egis shouldn't , should auto attack when aggroed on normal. Choco companions don't though I think.

Your answer isn't clear to me. Please explain.

Here is a specific example I can recall. Ramuh ex. After the add phase my pet often (but not always) WILL NOT start attacking Ramuh again after the adds are dead unless I manually command it to. It'll just sit there as if I had put it on steady.

Not a huge deal... Just seems odd to me.

Egis should be auto attacking anything that aggros you by default, unless you change their stance. Unless mines glitched this whole time? XD and For some reason Chocobo companions won't do this until u actually do an action on the monster.

Well, I guess mine is glitched sometimes. Because I've noticed it on other encounters too. That was just the most recent specific example I could think of. Sometimes it just won't attack while on 'obey' unless I command it to again. Not entirely sure why. Sometimes it appears to be after phase changes? Maybe?

I recall this happening once or twice during t9 golems too... Maybe sometimes it's after I command it to attack a specific target, and I switch targets while leaving my pet on the previous target. After that previous target dies perhaps it fails to switch targets on its own sometimes. And then just sits there like it is on steady even though it is 100% on obey. If that makes sense.

I have seen this happen myself and I usually notice it after I tell it to attack something else. Such as bee or bulb during T6. Sometimes it goes back to raffie other times I have to tell her to or she just sits there doing nothing.

I can confirm that Enkindle is a little buggy. It takes quite a while for the Egi to finally use it and sometimes it'll just use up the timer and and not even go off. It's pretty craycray.

Contagion is working for me, but Enkindle is till using up the ability and not doing anything from time to time, even if no other command has been given for more than 5 seconds. Has anyone tried if straight out using Aerial Blast, for example, instead of going through Enkindle helps? At least when Contagion doesn't register you get to smash it until it finally does. If the egi skips Enkindle there goes your 5 minute cooldown.

Yes, I'm noticing this too. Enkindle is not working consistently.

Actually I am still having problems with contagion. It is still not as consistent as it was before the patch. I used to be able to fire and forget. Now, sometimes this works, but most times I have to spam the contagion button. Enkindle is still iffy also. It may be better but can not be considered fixed.

I'm pretty sure that Enkindle has always been this way. I've had this happen to me if I use Enkindle at the wrong time since 2.0 hit.

I have only ever seen it happen with Garuda so I'm pretty sure it is related to the cast time of Wind Blade (much like all of the issues just after 2.3).

Yes, I agreed

Enkindle been this way since 2.0, nothing change

Its bug when 2.3 mess it and they FIXED it now, I feel its right and 100% confident I will not mess Enkindle anymore
