There always has to be that one negative nancy.

Was hoping they held out on hand outs for little longer but I guess they got tired of all you guys complaining.
Seen the pics for the armor and the caster/healer gear looks pretty good, will probably get that first.
Gonna be saving up for sand.
What a shame elites have a weekly lockout, it's not even about the amount of tokens they award all at once since they could have adjusted it so they give the equivalent in a week of doing them, maybe one day they won't manage to screw up promising content in one way or another.
Just one thing I'd like to point out. First, the picture here from the trailer.
The reward granted by the elite mark bill is gil and allied seals. But looking at the topic, we have the following:
Call me crazy, but what I'm getting from this is that the elite marks, which are powerful enemies randomly wandering the realm, yield allied seals and tomestones. The bill, which we receive once per week, is just icing on the cake.Quote:
Upon defeating elite marks, players will receive rewards including Allied Seals, Allagan tomestones of mythology, and Allagan tomestones of soldiery.
In other words, I don't think there's a once per week restriction on actually finding and defeating these monsters for allied seals.
I read it as everyone gets the same elite mark each week, and it's going to be a rare spawn like a FFXI NM or odin/behemoth fate. You can get the reward once per week.
Daily marks work the same, except you can get a different one from everyone else, and it's a normal mob that's just hanging around almost all the time.
Lets hope Elite's are not solo content and challenging, this can actually be a very welcome addition.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's that far-fetched. By giving everyone the same elite mob, you ensure that no matter the area it is in, it will be hunted and downed without it terrorizing the solo players leveling/killing mobs etc. in the area, which would be an issue if "Giant Powerful Sea Creature" spawned during a week which it is not hunted in an area frequented only by level 29 solo players trying to complete the story.
Most of my BiS gear is Sol gear.
I could have several sets of High Allagan by the time I have enough Sands and Oils from weekly raids, for my 1 set of Sol (2.2 Myth equivalent gear, that was already at the same ilvl as Coil gear).
It's currently Far more effort to get a Full Sol set (upgraded) than it is to get High Allagan set.
That sould just be silly if you can get an oil or sand in a week of doing hunts, I'd say it'll be more like 3 weeks or else it would really diminish the worth of the sands.
Right now only one person out of 8 in coil gets the Sand, 2 if you clear coil regulary.
So with a system like hunting and 1 possible sand for everyone in a weeks efford... I'd say it does not sound like SE at all, they don't just throw the good stuff at us we have to earn it.
My guess is that they'll want to have casual player have a full ilvl 110 gear by the end of 2.3 ( because 2.3 is the casual update, they'll give one extra ilvl 100 armor by week and tomestones in CT2 ) the time between 2 updates being 12-16 weeks, i don't think it will be longer than 2 weeks to get a sand/oil of time through Hunt, that's what i think, I may be totally wrong.
Yoshi said during the previous PLL that the hunts would not be limited so you could farm it to your heart's content. I think basically what it will be is that, we get these 'killnotices' daily/weekly that we can hunt as much as we like. More kills = more rewards?
What item level will the gear be? Will it even be worth wearing?
So this Hunt, does the monster spawn in a same place and people can just kill it? So getting to the spot and camping a mob will be really tough, think of Lightning Return Fates. I'm not a big fan of this, I just hope the Elite One are Instances, because I don't want to fight and compete over 30 people trying to get the kill for their Daily Hunt?
I also hope that if we are good enough we can have a party of two people two chocobos.
Definitely good news and a step in the right direction at making the open world more fun.
