Heavy Thrust sucks the description is false.
the moral of the story: if the description says that it's best to use it from a certain position... use it at that position.
Full Thrust is a bad skill why would I ever want to use that?
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Dragoon job is viewed as derp. And if you are level 50 and don't know positional bonuses, this game may not be for you. Most games might not be for you.
Quit your Dragoon because it is obviously not the class for you. Bard or Blm would be a much better for your kinds.
I was about to say troll spotted.
Troll confirmed.
It's even funnier that his defending his statement
OP, I hope to GOD that you are trolling.
If you're serious, then you're embarassing us Dragoons. :(
Chaos thrust is important for outputting your maximum damage as it leaves a DOT effect. (Damage over time) when used correctly in its combo.
Please...learn your job. You remind me of this dragoon I had in aurum vale who just spammed heavy thrust and piercing talon while circling the mob.
And another dragoon that I know who didn't know what any of his abilities did until I scolded him to learn it.
EDIT: deeper into this thread it seems you've figured it out. So, here's your lesson. Never go into anything without knowing exactly what your abilities do. The biggest mistake I always see with fellow dragoons is they don't know. I will literally say "Why aren't you using heavy thrust" and the answer will be "I don't know what it does" or "it doesn't do anything."
That only tells you that it does more damage from behind target, not that it's the condition for Disembowel. But if you're really into maxing your damage, when you get Disembowel, it should be apparent that by hitting Impulse Drive, Disembowel shows the combo effect. I was just saying there's nothing written in terms of: Disembowel Combo action: Impulse Drive hit from behind. See my point?
Okay, so you read Impulse Drive. it says 180 potency from behind. Then you check Disembowel and it says "combo action" Impulse Drive. I easily figured this out when 2.0 started due to the fact that I knew it was best to do Impulse Drive from behind, and that it started a combo. Easily learned that the combo can only be started from behind.
But I'll give it to you, the tool tips aren't extremely specific about how the combo actually starts.

Good god read one page of replies and I see why the community is seen as a bunch of wasteful excuses for human life.
Like.. one person politely described what he was doing wrong and tried to help him to be better so we have better players in thid game (it's seriously lacking). Everyone else.. all aboard the hate train, frequent stops at "Stop Playing" and "Lean To Play Your Class Loser".
I should feel bad for this

Well, you are not wrong but you are not right either. As far as I have seen, people is not pissed off at the fact that a player does not know how to play the class but rather, his/her attitude when he/she has no idea what he/she is talking about. If you don't know and ask for helps, I am sure there will be more politely help. However, if you don't know and jump straight to the conclusion that "X,Y,Z...are suck", just because you have not yet used it correctly, don't blame people for getting upset with you. No one like an idiot with ego, period...
