Unless the tank purposely blasts you with the fire breath, there's nothing he can really do about it; Swinge aims at a random direction/player. Both you and the healer also have sprint that you can freely use to help avoid the blast. Bards being too stand-offish are usually the only ones I see get hit by that (due probably to the lack of free sprint). No positioning of the boss can help that. The only really reckless behavior possible for that fight is for the tank to try to dodge the fire breath with people standing in your dodge angle (potentially cleaving them when you fail to dodge).

you can actually, i have seen it done in CT. Three times in a row a vote kick in our group was initiated and three times it wasnt let through. The motives were fallacious, they wanted to vote kick a player that didnt say a single word not in alliance or group ever from the start of the dungeon, nobody spoke to that person either, the reason to vote kick that person ?...HARRASSMENT...where on earth was there harrassment I still wonder today..

Vote kick shouldnt exist is a tool for abuse handed out to immature people that believe themselves invested of a superior and divine right.

For the rest, in thatplace, everybody tank that boss whever it is...most move it to the side though...in the end asking a question should never be a motif for kicking

It's hard, sometimes, when strategies differ.

I was in a T5 coil run once. Every strategy I practiced for said to avoid divebombs by staying in the middle of the battlefield and running away, yet another strategy used was to run into a ditch and do the same thing, but with an increased likelihood that the divebomb would mostly hit areas outside the battlefield. I didn't know that, so I got votekicked and blacklisted by every person in that raid.

This sounds like a similar problem here. Because strategies differed, you got votekicked. The tank was definitely wrong to votekick you, but there should have been some kind of dialogue beforehand so it was understood what to do.

Essentially, when I'm running with new players, I just say "Every so often, the boss will run to a wall or, if it's already at a wall, it will face away from me. When it does that, try to stay behind the boss or it'll fry you with a very damaging attack." and, after that, I'll answer any questions folks have.

It seems like your tank was a very zero-tolerance-for-imperfection kind of player, and I don't quite care for players like that because they are usually the ones that make runs quite unenjoyable.

Well.. You shouldn't fight with other players. It's just nonsense... Some people will never understand. In fact, this is online game. Many people are addicted and has life issues. I don't want to spread this message because people call it "bs". But, it's the truth. When you play the game it's just screen and keyboard(controller), but there are people behind it who you don't know. Maybe you are playing with kids. You never know. In a situation like this where you can't predict things. Sometimes, it's a smart idea to just walk away. I know it's stressful, but believe me, reporting them doesn't change anything. It's very rare where they get banned. Remember, not everyone is so bad.. I personally met with awesome players. All hopes are not lost. Good players waiting for you to discover them :p... Clear your mind, be smart and move on :) have a nice day.

Yes, you can. There is no cooldown on an attempted vote kick, that's a vote abandon. And multiple people can vote kick regardless of whether someone has already been dismissed or not.

Please do not post about stuff you don't know anything about.

Assuming things really went as OP is describing it:
While the method to down the boss is arguable (I've never seen it tanked in the middle either), being kicked simply for questionning the method is abuse.
Unless SE has made a statement on the rules for votekick, or changed their ingame messages when votekicking since I was last online.

If SE can't deal with this kind of things, they are simply paying for the shortcomings of the feature itself, which should have included measures to limit abuse before being implemented.

SE's statement is literally quoted two posts above. And it's not abuse. If you're not getting along with other players in the group and they vote to kick you just move on. DF isn't some prison where you're forced to run with people you're disagreeing with.

For what it's worth, I have never, ever seen anyone attempt to tank it in the middle.

AS much as I hate vote kick for no reason, if no one knows the particular mechanics of every boss fight, they can open chat and type it there, specially before we begin the run.

"the middle fight" example: I always tank him on the sides. BUT! Even if I know for some I don't need to mention it, I will type it that: Be ready to follow him when he moves to stay behind him at all times.

So far, never had a problem.

Now if you encounter people you don't like as you mentionned.. Press U, then Leave. Suck on the penalty: it's better than to play with people you can't stand.

The higher you'll get , the worse it will become; they will be asking god-like reflexe skills and knowing your character so well that you will know in advance your lvl 60 skills to put into your rotation ;)

It's quite simple.. You just need to walk away.

Not only SE, but in any game as well as real life.. If majority of people vote, they win.
Assuming that majority is not very smart... They still going to win. That's why we need friends who
we can trust. It doesn't matter where he pulls the boss. In middle or near the entrance, there are always strategy.
Some strategies are better than other ofc. If the person you are playing with has some attitude.. Get ready.
This is what I don't understand personally... Why do we defend those who never respect us. It seems like many of us

The player has a cooldown on them. Something like they cant initiate another vote kick for a few hours after they last did. Other people cant still vote kick right away, and if there was a cooldown in general it must have been changed because just recently I did a CT where we had to vote kick two tanks that were trolling

I thought you had to have a majority vote for "Vote Kick" shouldn't it be two other people in the party agree?

You only need 2 yes votes to kick someone.

also, can you not read the OP? he was KICK FROM THE PARTY, ergo, the kick was successful and went into cooldown and also, no one here isn't the question, why would the other dps initiate vote kick on the healer? from all the times is seen vote kick since august 2013, people would either just wait for a replacement or just leave outright. i never seen players initiate ANOTHER vote kick to remove another player as

1.getting healers and tanks in stone vigil? yeah good luck on your wait time. in all these months i played, it was nigh improbable to get a healer or tank as no one queues for S.V unless they have too and duty roulette doesnt guarantee you another replacement. hell i once waited 30 mins for a healer to come and went "forget this, im gonna jump on my sch and queue join in progress to see we can finish this". lo and behold i got back in the same dungeon with the same two guys from before.

2.since there is no penalty from leaving after someone being V.K.and they were clearly on the first room boss, there is no reason to stay and hope for another healer and dps to show up.people would have left and just requeue for a full party.no need to go the extra mile to kick the friend buddy (and how would they know that the healer was the op friend?smell pretty suspicious to me like we arent getting the full story).

Sounds to me like you complained to the tank about how he wanted to tank and play.
He decided to not put up with you complaining about his tactics and they decided to kick you rather than continue on playing with someone they didn't like and have to put up with drama for the rest of the zone. Sounds like it is working as intended.

Any time you complain to a tank about how they are doing their job you are running a real chance of being kicked.
Especially when you die to a fight mechanic and blame it on how the tank is not doing the encounter like you want it done.
