Haha. That's really up to you. I do join them if somehow they have hard time finding member or queued for long time. Can't really compare new players to babies though, since tutorial in this game are quite abundant. Those dungeon level does have their own purposes.
They should not lock the skills so if there is a guy who is new to the game and he sees a high level guy using the skills, he will be intrigued and motivated to level his to max to get these skills for himself!
How about a compromise only cross class abilities remain unlocked other classes can use them anyway base class should be able to aswell

Yes. I actually enjoy the level cap and restrictions in lower level dungeons, it gives me the chance to go back to basics with jobs and reminds me of a much "simpler" time. Admittedly it's a bit annoying levelling up and not being able to use your new skills all the time, and it's annoying when you have to sync to 49 for certain FATE's, but beyond that I'm not bothered by it.Quote:

The truth is, you don't need all your skills for those dungeons, they're not designed with that in mind. The addition of all the level 50 skills would likely make them even more trivial than they are already.

It's like going through all that foreplay without the sweet release of butchers block.
While it would be awesome to be able use Regen, Medica II, Shield Oath, Circle of Scorn, Bard Songs, Rain of Death, Perfect Balance, and other skills in early dungeons; I'm very against the idea of being able to use top end skills in those dungeons. They're easy enough as is, no need to make it easier.
Getting combos down in fighting games is waaaaaaay different than learning rotations for monk.
We're doing bootshine (wait 1-2 seconds) -> true strike (wait again) -> snap punch (among other combo sets)! No plinking, juggling, super jump canceling, FADC, or anything.
Having Sako combo level inputs in the game would be awesome though ;D

I would love to have access to my skills when doing lower level content. All my classes have the macro bars setup so that it's easy to go through any combos or quickly access trigger skills like thundercloud for BLM, or Shield Swipe for PLD. When I got lower level content your rotations you're used to using are no longer usable and tanking the way your used to isn't feasible. Without access to the rage of halone combo I'm just spaming flash to keep hate, in uncapped content I flahs once and Rage of Halone combo though all the mobs to keep hate and it's more interactive and fun this way. This is also one of the reasons I almost never help my LS with level content under 40-45 and it's infuriating because I would love to help but every time I do, it's like learning a new class for the fist 5-10 minute of the dungeon. I'm all for this all skill access especially if it's a preformed group.
I would do lower lvl dungeons more if I could keep all my lvl 50 skills :D
For those saying that a lowbie tank couldnt hold hate from a synced level 50 obviously don't do enough synced content..... syncing down from 34 to 18 I half tanked the bosses and every mob I primaried ..... they just dont have the tools. But that is a very different topic.
If all skill were unlocked, we will witness an horde of bored 50s facerolling new people on duties, situation is already bad with synced i100 taking aggro from new tanks at the sole scope to lol at him, no need to make situation worse.
If you want use all your skills, you can do endgame content, there is plenty and 100 times more rewarding.
Even with out having all of my skills, its still extremely easy to pull aggro off of a new tank. 3 rotations deep with the most minimal setup of skills, and I'm already at the no.1 spot. I know others have had the same problem, and it causes a lot of frustration in low level dungeons.
I disagree, while it will be fun the first times overkilling become boring veryfast
not really one shoting 1mob but flare is 2.6 the potency of Fire2, SC flare convert flare (520potency would just clear all trash between each zone and every low dungeon will turn into brayfloxHM (and i do low roulette because brayfloxSR spam is boring)

I said it would require 'much more severely' reducing a person's stats in exchange.
In other words, making it so it wouldn't be overkill.
Also, every lowbie dungeon already is like Brayflox HM with a SCH+Cleric+Eos tanking.
Im with this all the way. The 1st reason is good enough: more fun!! I have no problem doing a low lvl on whatever job if I can use it all.. Now it really holds me back because of this. They can have it scale accordingly to not make it over powered.
I just don't buy it that people think its fun going PLD in tamtara with 3 abilities. Doing it because its not that bad isnt the same as fun.
SCH going into Sastasha... boring as hell. Still got Eos and Selene though with all abilities unlocked so wiping is never an issue, it's just boring as hell. I'd like for some more abilities to be unlocked, but not all.
I know they could never give us all our abilities, but how about this - give us all abilities that are CROSS CLASS. Seriously. Every other class can use them. I can use Stoneskin as a Scholar in Sastasha. With my fairy. Why can't a WHM going to Sastasha use Stoneskin? That just seems a little unfair. By being cross class, these abilities were designed to be allowed in any low level dungeon.
And to be completely honest, they need to swap the level that Gladiator gets Shield and Sword Oath. Because Sword Oath has literally NO USE outside level 50 or soloing. Pre-level 50 there is no instance where you may have two tanks and one needs to DPS. The extra DPS in low level dungeons is barely going to affect enmity. Do they really think a Gladiator in Sword Oath is going to out DPS an actual DPS class enough for it to matter in any way?
I have tried a low level Gladiator and a low level Marauder. Holding enmity as a Gladiator is 100x harder. Flash barely has any enmity gain on it at all, even going into a fight and using it 3x in a row the healer or a DPS attacking something other than your main target can easily steal it off you. As a Marauder you only have to Overpower twice at the start, weave your combo between enemies as you can, and Overpower like once more in the middle of that fight.
well if you use your skills lvl 50 with the power lvl 50 and you face a mob lvl 15 you with HP lvl 15, you dont believe you will just one shot it more so if you are four with all the strenght lvl 50...see my point? the gap is so huge that, UNLESS your lvl 50 abilities are adjusted to lvl 15, meaning when they hit they lose 90 % of their real power, you just will one shot each mob and by that forbid newby to learn of their own skills that are actually meant for that dungeon...

I don't know about some of you, but when I'm moonlighting in Roulette I have to hold back on my damage output substantially else I'll steal hate at every group of mobs. And that's with just the actions I have available at the capped level ranges. Yes, I can and have pulled hate with just the poison shot and Bloodletter. Toss in my full rotations and the tank will never have hate ever, assuming I'm one of those idiotic Bards that believes you can manage hate in the face of full rotations with just the two hate management actions Bards have (which I thankfully am not). I dare not imagine how much hate a Dragoon or Monk can generate with their full rotations, given they are full DDs versus the Bard's support DD role.

We do not have any plans at the moment to allow the use of higher level abilities when you are level capped.
On a somewhat related note, however, Yoshida mentioned during Letter from the Producer LIVE XIV that we will be looking into making adjustments to actions that are not used very much by each job.
This mean that Awareness and Shield Swipe from GLA/PLD are going to be looked at?
They're about as useful as BLM's Freeze in endgame content.
One Ilm Punch is not very useful either.
You... completely missed the point and didn't understand what dejavutwo just said. I'll use MNK as an example. Dragonkick is it's lvl 50 ability and does 150 potency when done at the flank. Bootshine is the lvl 1 ability and does 150 potency. They'll do the same damage if they were both synced to low levels.
If the person is on a class, they'll be able to use stoneskin at low levels. If they are on their job, only SCH and PLD will be able to slot it for low levels.
Feint could use some serious work then. Ring of Thorns also kind of awkward since it's only really very useful after heavy thrust. Fracture could use a small buff to be useful as a cross class skill. Skull Sunder along with many other cross class skills are utterly useless and makes cross classing extremely boring.
We still haven't fixed One Ilm Punch?

Scale em all down... but please let my button mashing mechanically function the same for all content.
Because even in open world a lv 17 class can use Stoneskin if he have Conjurer on the righ level, while a Conjurer level 17 still can't use it.
Dragon Kick in first rotation and Bootshine in second rotation = more damage than Bootshine in both rotations. You also need to look to the special ability of the skills, not only to the potency.
