Agree, game needs more 8 people dungeons/content indeed. 4 people dungeons now are too easy and VERY short.

Great idea, we need more content for 4+ People, means 8 and 24! Give us something to dooooooo!
You put in mechanics which make speed running it hard unless the group is really skilled. Like back in 1.0's CC the group split two ways and both groups had to kill a mob at the same time or you'd start at the beginning of the dungeon.
You also increase the reward. Put rare low % drops on the final boss which can be used to craft vanity gear and make the soldiery reward worth it.
There is lots of stuff they could do, 4 man is just getting boring and coil locks out 95% of the server until it's nerfed and then it's just boss rush anyway.
I also think they should make new (non coil) 8 man dungeons based on the difficulty they originally planned for crystal tower. I think that would strike a good balance.
So not as hardcore as coil but still challenging and fun.
No thanks. We already have coil if you want to do 8 people in a dungeon.
Actually Prae was hard mode, it is only very easy now because most everyone (except for new players) are way over geared for it. I wouldn't mind a brand new 8 man dungeon, but as someone else mentioned adding open world content (non fate) that is challenging on a constant basses.
It's fine if they don't currently have plans for it, but I really hope they don't simply ignore the suggestion.
oh sweet we only have plans for 1... just 1 8 man dungeon. seriously? this is rediculous. what's next we don't have plans for 8 man dungeons but were adding a bunch more solo Barbie content?!?!
way to put the massive in MMO
I would like to see some larger dungeons. Older FF games most dungeons you are going up/down floors, backtracking, fully exploring, etc. Dungeons in FF14 don't really feel like that, they feel very linear as a poster above mentioned. Haukke normal mode is about as close it comes to old school dungeon style (keys to locked doors, multiple floors, back tracking to newly opened areas). I'd give my lala arms for something akin to the temple of the ancients/gaia's cliff/northern crater from FF7.
Hello,
Thanks for the response.
After checking in with the player base, they mentioned that this type of content would be accepted and be a positive addition to the game overall. We understand that you are only a representative, and that you can't change the minds of the developers and forcibly make changes that we want. However, a little variety into the common formula for your current dungeons would breathe new life into the game, and in no way could be considered negative.
Player base, I plead to you to like and continue bumping this thread if you want to see changes in this manner. Let your voices and thoughts be heard! Just because there are no plans now, doesn't mean there can't ever be plans in the future!
Personally, I would LOVE to see more 8-man dungeons with interesting mechanics. I liked almost every post in this thread that advocated the same sentiments.
Thank you for your time.
We might get a new 8 man dungeon come expansion... we'll see.
OP,
Tomes* not Tombs. Actually took me a moment to catch on to what you meant lol.
And uh,
If anyone wants an extreme dungeon, just do what me and my friends do and pull all the enemies into boss arenas and then kill trash mobs while dealing with boss. "Brayflox Extreme!"
Honestly, I don't see why they even bother making new dungeons. Generally people don't enjoy them and just speed through them, why waste time designing brand new ones when that time can be better spend on Coil and Crystal Tower? I mean, I love the Lost City as a dungeon, but that doesn't change the fact that most people speed run Brayflox ad nauseum.
Tell them to reconsider their plans.
I don't know about this one, its hard to get people in Crystal Tower to play smart or listen to experience players. Too many eggheaded players that havent done the dungeon rushing like its just another 4-man dungeon. I actually stopped doing Crystal Tower because idiocy in that Raid was well above what a normal person could handle.
And I agree we need freshness in the game because I do find myself a bit bored trying to level up another class and I leveled this class on a different character too enjoying every minute of leveling up. Once you have a level 50 stuff starts to get dull it seems.
You know even a normal mode 8 man dungeon would make me happy.
I messaged kotaku and informed them of their decision to not create new 8 man content. wonder how they interpret only having 1 true 8 man dungeon in the whole game and no plans on making more. I'm sure that will draw in the subscribers by the millions. 4 man party's forever.
Well I think the thread was actually designed for harder 8 man content in the style of a dungeon as opposed to super easy casual stuff.
Yes of course everyone outgears Prae and CM now. But I still beat everything with a 7/8 first timer party without a wipe my first ever time when I must have been around ilevel45.
Bump.
8 man dungeons. Harder difficulty than 4 man dungeons. I don't care if the battle team has no plans for this in the future, lets MAKE them have plans for this in the future.
Unless y'all are content with finishing up coil for the night/week, switching to dungeons to finish capping weekly tomes and having to boot half your party to do so.
Lame. :\
