100% Guaranteed High Quality Tool Items: Absolutely NO RNG!

I have tested on what John Mccain said about dropping the Great Strides in Step 10. This lowers the CP requirement by 32 and it's still reaching 100% for me every synth (although, it should be noted, it did not with Alchemy's Spirits of Salt - 99%, how infuriating!) For anyone subsequently reading this and considering how to burn through the Artisan Tools you have two choices:

- Either use a much lower quality food for +9 CP and remove this step, or:
- If you don't have Alchemy to 50 drop the opening Comfort Zone from the rotation, keep the Great Strides in Step 10 (which will now be Step 9) and this removes the need to have Alchemy even at level 1 for this rotation. I can not in good conscience tell people not to level Alchemy though, as Comfort Zone is so amazing! The choice is yours!

Craft 354 Control 346, 357 CPs using HQ frumenty. No step 10 path.

Didn't work as intended.

But I'm miner 50 and can casually HQ the nuggets. so no problem. I know the first thing that goes in the offhand.

In the name of science I have bought some HQ Chilled Potato Soup Craft +12% (max 47) and CP + 5% (max 17)

I am at Craft 354, Control 346, 345 CPs. I know I should be pushing Control but want to see if pushing craft instead could help. should get me to Craft 396 and 362 CPs. But not tonight.

CC IV materia are currently at 160K on my server ....

Edit: CC IV materia came down to 120K. Base stats: Craft 354, Control 350, CPs 345. With the soup: Craft 396, Control 350, CPs 362.

At these specs that rotation works only if I hit a crit on a touch or two. I have MUCH better results riding the RNG and Hasty touch.

Unless you are getting the tools for completion's sake only, you'll need to meld your crafters to make three star synths. With the three star levels required you could use this rotation and HQ every attempt. Why not just meld in preparation for three star and make getting the tools easier? :)

Is there any way this rotation/method could be altered to not include Ingenuity II? Ingenuity II and Piece by Piece (not mentioned in this thread) are the only two cross-class actions I do not have yet. I have been hard grinding trying to get Ingenuity II, but it is becoming very boring , very expensive, and very slow. I may have to just hold off and wait for the leve allowances to build back up :(

I altered the original roation/method myself and got my Artisan's Spectacles finally! Some failed attempts obviously, as altering the original rotation/method did not produce 100% as intendedby your original, but I got it done with: 361craft, 342control, and 382CP (with HQ Bouillabaisse). Oh and this was a messed up melded ALC lol. None of my pieces (except for jewelry and belt) were properly or fully melded. ALC was my first 50 craft way back in the day and I melded it before I knew what I was doing, but I already had the master book on ALC, so I was kind of left with no choice!

I couldn't think of a way. The only way to reclaim an extra step would be to drop a touch, which drastically lowers the finished % of quality thanks to Inner Quiet being weaker. I think my suggestion would be to get Ingenuity II anyway, even if it is a grind, as it's essential to three star crafting.

I replaced some of the basic touches with hasty touches, saving a lot of CP. At the end when I had the item at 100% or close to it, I still had enough CP for another Manipulation and a regular Ingenuity which let me finish the craft!

There is no doubt I will have all my crafters to 50, but I just wanted those artisan's spectacles in a rush for some reason so I had to think outside the box until the leve allowances start building back up. I should actually have enough today to take my BSM to 50, giving me the last piece I need for your one and two-star rotations! :)

It's more use than the LTW lvl50 skill... but not one I'd suggest rushing.

ARM lvl50 on the other hand, I would make my priority if I were Evian.

Piece by Piece I personally would say is Essential for 3 star crafting with a very high HQ rate.

30-60 usually lol.

But I don't bother HQ'ing the myth mats usually (putty/cashmere etc).

May not be the most time effective rotation lol, but it is very reliable, does not use Ing II and is something I've been using since the first week of 2.2.

While three-star crafting is my ultimate goal, my current goal is to obtain my ilvl70 primary tools! There will be no three-star crafting until I get those anyway, so I'm topping off BSM right now so I can use this rotation as it was intended to be used. Once leve allowances build up again, going to top off my ARM for sure so I can three-star craft :)

Ing II is useful for getting the tools, again I'd not say essential, but you'd save a lot of time having it!

I suppose if you don't have Ingenuity 2 it's fine. You can get to three star completion in the five steps though, PbP x2, Careful x3 (with Ingenuity 2 on.) Only 50 durability, which would free up 10 durability on those occasions you're using 60 to finish. Whilst three star HQ isn't 'mega difficult' to HQ, there are times RNG is a swine and having that extra step could be the difference between an NQ worth 200k and an HQ worth double. :D

10 Durability costs 26 2/3CP, using Mend II. (or 29 1/3CP using manipulation)

Your paying 32CP to save 10.

That 32CP would usually prevent me from using a 2nd Mend II, hence costing me 3 touch moves (30 dura).

You can argue that you also use it for your Byregot's, but by needing to fit Byregot's and 3 CS2 into 1 Ing II, then you have less leeway to force a "Good" condition for your Byregot's.

Due to the nerf to Ingenuity, I don't see it as being a great skill for 3 star, thought it can have it's uses.

It looks like the master book item requirement is a two-star, 40dur crafted item. I can not find any rotation to use! I am fully melded and have my Artisan's Spectacles, but every two-star, 40dur crafted item rotation/macro I've seen makes use of the ilvl70 primary tool! Please help!

I don't have a set "rotation" or macro, but just do something like this:

Use ToT on every "Good", use some CP food if you like.

You can use Manipulation or WN to regain durability to save some CP, but with those stat's I personally would just be lazy and use Mend 1 lol.

I'm sure there are macro's out there for this, but if you want to craft 3 star, this will help you practice using the Hasty method.

Be sure you'll have enough CP left for your finisher, you'll soon get used to judging how many dura restoring skills you can use per craft (varies based on ToT proc's).

BTW, just finished making my last DoH tool, which is Alchemy. Sadly, this is where your rotation cannot reach 100% most of the time because having 1 material which only has NQ availability: Vitriol. Note that my body & accessories were all fully melded, with only my off hand still meld free though. Majority only got averagely 92% and failed into 2-3 NQ.

Only way I can get 100% are having like 3+ great status when I landed my touch/BB skills, or landing an excellent.

I'm taking risk not melding control IV to my off-hand since I don't have any atm. lol

That's interesting... It reached 100% for me. Maybe the Control IV makes the difference, but I wouldn't have thought so.

I love this macro and have used it for all of my artisan turn-ins so far! I just want you to be aware that this macro does not reach 100% HQ all of the time for the ALC turn in (HQ Spirits of Salt) if you do indeed drop the Great Strides from Step 10 and go for the cheaper food (Stone Soup). Been getting anywhere from 89%-91% and I am fully melded, including new patch 2.3 crafting accessories.

EDIT: Added back in the Great Strides and popped a hq bou and still not reaching 100% hq 100% of the time. Been getting 96%... works for me, but like I said, just wanted you to be aware!

What was your Control when doing this? With the Control listed in the OP I was getting to 100% with all Normals back when I tested. Whilst 96% is still decent if this is the case, I'll update the OP to reflect that this isn't 100% for Alchemist. :confused:

hmmmm i dont think this work having NQ for master craft 1 stars.... anyone know a better rotation for master craft 2 stars with no HQ items

Although if the synth broke there is one of two causes. You either don't have enough Craftsmanship for four Careful Synthesis 2 to be enough, or you don't have enough CP and Ingenuity 2 isn't going off prior to those four Careful Synthesis. Either way, check you meet the requirements and try again. Let me know if you're still having problems after ensuring you meet the requirements. :)

I can't recall, but I was FULLY melded in all HQ AF gear, new 2.3 HQ accessories, and artisan's spectacles. My Offhand had a Control IV, Craftsmanship III, and CP III -- so whatever that is. I don't think you could do much better, besides melding the offhand a couple more times with more control I guess, but your original thread and rotation did not state that as a necessary requirement.

EDIT: When I get home tomorrow afternoon after work (if I remember), I will equip back on my Paracelsus and give you the exact stats I had while doing the turn-ins using your rotation/macro.

EDIT again: decided to hop on before work, so here's the stats I had when crafting:

367 Craftsmanship
365 Control
355 CP

I can only surmise that at some point during my tests I was getting a good rating then and somehow didn't notice. Our stats are the same bar CP but we're using the same rotation so that doesn't matter.

Probably a dumb question, but is there a non-rng non-food rotation that culinarian can use to make HQ Spicy Tomato Relish with stats: 394 crafts / 378 control / 352 cp?

If not how much success can and RNG one grant on average?

I also want to confirm I've been getting 96% for Alchemist too. Nothing to complain about, but a headsup.

edit: I still do get 100% on some. I don't really have a clue how often, but it will hit 100% every once in a while.

I could meld a control 2 to my offhand and one to my body, but I'm not doing that until more are put on the AH.

Remove the first Great Strides and Innovation from this rotation, replace the sixth Basic Touch with Standard Touch.

That gives you 96% HQ with all normal states.

Is there any way this rotation can be altered to allow for not having ingenuity II ? I've got all the others, but haven't got my blacksmith anywhere near 50 yet and am starting to work on rose gold cogs xD

That method is reasonable IF it is your FC, and you aren't killing anyone else with the crafting buffs.

To get to iL75 tool, you will need to get the artisan spec, which pretty much is saying you will need to be able to craft the 2 star turn ins anyway. So, why not just get the iL70 first, since the process of getting 3 MCs and 10 FC IIIs is going to be a long road.

All I can say is, some are more lucky then I, and I have only gotten 8 FC3s out of 72 specs. Ggranted, 4 out of the last 17 after GSM hit 85 w 76% desyn rate.

Hi Selena! I'm currently spamming out Relishes in the hope to get my GSM desynth leveled up. My stats are 393/383/395 (when using HQ Bouillabaisse) and I'm often left with a lot of NQ Tomatoes etc. which are generally useless to me - so I have tried using this with 100% NQ mats. Not bad - twice I hit around 22% and twice I hit 100% (the other 70%). So considering how many mats I have, it's still useful. However, I can't help but wonder if there is a better way - I don't suppose you have a good rotation for people spamming NQ mats to get the best chance of HQ, while still remaining fairly reliable? Or should I just go for the Hasty Spam method?
