Limit Breaks should remain as they currently are.
HOWEVER!
I would love to see more class specific graphics.
BLM
Keep it as is
MNK can keep final heaven.
- 1 Bar should not be a sword .. replace it with a flurry of punches and kicks
- 2 Bars should be a longer flurry but with large impact flashes.
DRG should have a super jump related animation.
- 1 Bar replace the sword with a polearm
- 2 Bars again replace sword with a polearm
SMN should have a SMN related animation rather then the meteor that is synonymous with BLM.
- 1 Bar Ifrit Eig uses a hellfire blast. a single massive plume of fire
- 2 Bars Titan Egi cause's drops a large volume of bomb boulders that explode on impact on the ground
- 2 Bars Garuda Egi does a giant tornado (like really really big)
These of course should have the same damage as the blm one and cover the same range etc. to prevent classes preferential treatment
BRD Should NOT have a healing limit break. This was the dumbest idea SE has had in regards to Bards... Using the BLM Limit Mechanics.
- 1 Bar a Shower of Arrows (call it Volley)
- 2 Bars A Shower of large Flaming Arrows (call it Flame Call? or something idk)
- 3 Bars A Giant Arrow Falls to the ground and explodes on impact.
WHM Keep it as is, but make the effects more flashy. I hardly notice anything when using it.
SCH Keep the effect as it is, but alter the animation to be Grimore symbols
PLD Keep as is but maybe make it a little holy'er ?
WAR replace the generic walls with something more beastly to go with the Warriors Lore of having an inner Beast.
- 1 Bar make the dome effect more red
- 2 Bar perhaps a Tiger spirit surrounds you
- 3 Bar a Lion Spirit comes out of you and roars loudly creating a wall of earth in front of you.
These are mostly thought up as I am typing this but the concept is there.
Classes can keep the default Limit Breaks but maybe toned down graphically.

The only teamwork that LB usually involves is telling the DD "DD USE LB!!!" because most of them are hesitant in using it.
I wouldn't want to make it entirely personal. However, I don't really like the current system either.
Right now, melee dps use LB almost all the time. What would be better imo if LB is separate for each class type. Healing, Tanking and DPS type LB won't affect each other and is gained differently.
Healing LB builds the more the healers heal. Tanking LB builds the more damage they take and dps LB builds the more the dps.
And give ranged physical dps something else instead of mimicking healers...
I like the team work.
Also I wish some people would learn to just use the current one.
I think there should be job specific limit breaks. Like archers should give a group buffs. Different for each bar

Limit Breaks were brought in to replace Battle Regimens which actually required teamwork and co-ordination: Player X uses skill A because Player Y used skill B and when you follow B with A you do extra damage and place Z debuff on mob.
Battle Regimens weren't deemed flashy or fanservicey enough, so they incorporated limit breaks, which were originally intended to promote skillful play (stuns built it up quickly on Ifrit HM for example). But let's face it, there's no teamwork or co-ordination involved. It gets used once per fight, 99% of the time as a simple damage spike in the final phases of a fight.
I'd rather they scrapped it altogether and brought in something that promoted co-ordination like Battle Regimens, or even better: Skill Chain / Magic Bursts.
Even packs of trash mobs would be more fun if you could set up a Fusion Skillchain and let the Black Mage Magic Burst a raging strikes Flare on a pack of mobs.

i miss skillchains ._.U ,the actual LB system is meh....melee use LB for single ,caster lb for aoe.
Healer lb is used when shit hits the fan and 90% of time is wasted

Skillchain or anything that ask players coordination would be nice in my opinion, the only cooperation between players I see is the Silence rotation.
As for Personal LB ... Why ? It would be like those FFVIII Summoning attacks, it's nice at the beginning at then after the novelty wears off, you don't really care.
If Personal LBs were ever a thing, I would much rather they function similar to Double/Triple Techs from Chrono Trigger than how LBs are currently implemented. For example, if you have 3 DPS (BRD, Melee, Caster) use their personal LBs at the same time, they'd perform a Delta Attack similar to how the moogles do it. Something like that would require positioning and communication between the members to pull off. Could also change it up so that you get different effects depending on which 3 classes or 2 classes (or 8!) perform the personal LB. For those that played CT, you get the idea but I honestly doubt anything like this will ever be implemented, least not in XIV.

"personal LBs", i just wonder why you assume it is a "single" attack?
There is none Final Fantasy, where your LB is always the same one!
Each character chan modify their LB or choose between different LBs...
"Personalize", you know the thing players are wining about since 1.x - not only gear or attributes...

Individual and personalized Limit Breaks bring way more diversity and possibilities than the current restriction of the "shared" Limit Break system that's widely used only as a viable "DPS" mechanism you save to clear current content faster. This was a downside I foresaw in this system since the beginning because of the min-max nature it brings forth and above all it's restricted to 1 person per party.
The 3 bar system can stay the same. Yet without focus on individuality and diversity all we are left with is that "really long cool down ability" that may not even be used at all.
It isn't really even a "one really long cool down ability" since groups have been able to pull off 2 major limit breaks on primal fights and on usual alliance party content some parties have done a level 3 and a level 2/1 during some fight other raids. So instead of seeing it as some negative we can instead view in a more positive light in which these strong ability are used in the heat of battle when powerful foes push us to our limits?
Since the overall positive here is that parties get individual limit breaks that aren't restricted to one person with a universal focus on damage but individual limit breaks that make jobs stand out and get players focused into wanting to play those other roles. Alliances however will get that focus on personalized limit breaks that combo into each other like it's has been suggested.
