In my experience it's mostly dps that has a problem with tunnel vision. Too busy keeping their 'perfect rotation' going and not paying attention to anything but pouring as much damage as possible on to the boss so they can brag about big numbers.

I've seen this both ways, but can be remedied by common sense and using the tools at your disposal.
Tanks: Mark it, truly makes life easier for all, especially for thoes big pulls you see in speed runs. Keep in mind tanks that if you pull five, six or any abscene amount of enemies lets us know which is priority.
Keep in formation! If you are the tank most likley you will be defaulted as "leader" so make sure your squishy comardes are near when you engage.
Let your healer know if your ganna pull half the dungeon so they can be aware and prepare the big heals. Good healers tend to be economical with their heals and might get surprised.
DPS: look at your aggro bar, if it turns yellow, be careful, if it turns amber and flashes stop. If it's a big red circle, the enemy is thinking how it's about to knock your teeth in.
Don't jump the gun! Tank engages unless otherwise stated. Again formation is key and if you pull an enemy which the tank has to reclaim, the formation breaks and positional based dps (ala MNK and DRG) lose their rotations and lose DPS = Bad
i HATE being a tank i just like swords
So does this guy: http://v.cdn.nuklearpower.com/comics...ter/010412.jpg
Low level dungeons, sure. If a tank marks mobs in a level 50 dungeon, sorry, but I don't care. I'm still Holy spamming if it's safe for me (SOS ready etc).
If it's a speed run, there's very rarely a priority, it's just AOE them all asap. Only exceptions I can think of are before the first bosses of WP and Brayflox HM.Quote:

I would offer, as most of you know, the single biggest thing you can do to help your Tank, is to wait. Wait until the Tank has locked in aggro before you start any ranged attacks. The extra 5 or 8 or 10 seconds is golden, to the Tank. If PLD, if you give them time to FoF, SL, Flash, Flash, CoS and start up the RoH combos... just read a magazine for a few seconds, then go ahead, bombs away. We're good.
One of the worst sights and sounds to a charging Tank, is that dreaded Zing! sound and watching an aggro line pass over our head, because someone behind us unloaded with an aggro-generator skill, before we could get within Lob, Flash, 'Hawk and O'erpower range.
Why wait for tanks to mark lol, as a whm i usually just asess the group on 1st mob pull/ fight and see if they r aoe spammy, can they follow markers cuz more than half time even with aura fluid -> repose; the dps/ tank will always acidentally still hit the chained target and it will wake up lol....
So i rather just spam holy etc, don't really care if i'm grabbing hate as i'm well over geared for dungeons and have 6k+ hp now. No point in limiting potential dps output just because of tunnel visioned tanks.
Dunno how tunnel vision dps work except for titan ex lol....
I got into an AK run for my monk relic a few days ago, queued up with a ilvl 84 BLM I know who wanted to help me out. The tank we got had zenith curtana/shield and other ilvl 90 gear (allagan body as well as a couple other allagan pieces). Would run in flash, circle of scorn, and do RoH combo on one mob.
Now, the BLM does his AoE rotation as per usual for the trash in AK and immediately rips hate from the tank with his first or second fire 2. This happened on most pulls. He was getting pissed off that the tank wasn't holding hate, and the tank was getting pissed off that the BLM was "flaring so quickly". To be clear, he was casting after the tank would pull the groups: i.e. after a flash and circle of scorn. Fire III the mob the tank targets and fire 2 the rest. I don't think he ever Flared because he would easily pull hate with Fire 2 and was worried the tank wouldn't be able to get hate back at all.
The healer would occasionally pull hate as well, and the tank would have quite a bit of delay before going to rescue AF1 geared WHM with 2800ish HP. I ended up cross classing skull sunder to pull mobs off the healer if he took hate (it was surprisingly effective at pulling the mob to me). The tank said (s)he was "flashing like crazy", but (s)he clearly wasn't. Maybe some tanks are just getting lazy rather than having tunnel vision. I mean AK is a pretty easy dungeon.
That's the bad part. A flash alone isn't gonna hold any candle towards fire 2. The tank needed to rotate Rage of Halone combo on multiple mobs. Even then, all I do as PLD in turn 4 is spamming flash. I think he just lied about spamming it and not keeping aggro from BLM.
