Dyable acolyte, foestriker's, battlemages and infantry?!
SE I love you. Thanks for listening. <3
I think the "same type" just refers to the equipmnt slot ( egs can only glamour legs etc).
Because some boots are cloth type and some are leather type, that'd totally mess up everything. I don't think they will restrict it this heavily (if they do, it's very very very limited)
I honestly doubt(but hope that I'm wrong) that S-E think we're that stupid to not realise that. And if they do, I believe the term "equipment slot" would have made things clearer. Type of armor makes me think of heavy, light and robe.
Heavy: any heavy armor that pld/war/drg wears
Light: leather + cloth armor/clothes (shirts, harness....)
robe: anything mage related
But again, I hope I'm very wrong. Or someone is going to burn in the fires of hell! D:
hmm, no screenshot with Dragoon gear, oh well need to wait for patch go live
It was an example.
I could also take the plundered set from the three early dungeons (Sastasha, TamTara, Copperbell) as a glamour set. In fact, I'd planned to for one of my characters. Don't get stuck up on the fact the EXAMPLE I mentioned involved two level 50 items. I've been planning to use my old AF set as vanity since I heard of the system, thus why I used it as an example.
The problem is that why SHOULD it be locked behind 50? Every level range would want to make use of this, there is literally no reason to lock it behind 50 when it's something like VANITY. Vanity systems in other games are available as soon as you get to the first major city. What SE's doing is ridiculous and makes no sense.
The French page gets more specific:
According to Google Translate:Quote:
L’objet de base et celui d’apparence doivent être du même type (tête, torse, etc.).
Doesn't completely rule out needing things to be leather/leather etc., but it seems more likely it's just talking about slot.Quote:
The base object and the appearance must be the same type (head, torso, etc..).
Jesus H Christmas people will whine about anything? So what if you have to be lvl.50 to do the quest, were you not planning on getting to max level and just thought you'd stay lvl.30 forever? Grow up, I don't know why you think you need vanity gear at lvl.38 anyways.
I'm pretty certain that SE said in the past that you won't be able to make it appear that your WHM cloth wearer is wearing plate armor (since they can't do that), but I'm not sure if it'll restrict your PLD plate wearer from looking like they're in cloth (since they can do that, unless it's DoM restricted).
I fully expect there will be restrictions on what you can prism.
so prism's are going to be crafted? sold on shop? or what?
Prisms will be crafted.
call me white knight, very happy about this and very excited for next week
and quest being 50? great! having unmatched colours will give you more incentives to get to 50 quickly and you will enjoy it even more ^^
So, those weapons we get with soldier tomes. I'm now getting the feeling that those AREN'T the zodiac/relic upgrades?
Anyone else noticed that darklight gear is still non-convertible for materia? That sucks, it means we may have to craft i70+ gear for materia V's.
what do you think?

Roe DoL gear?

Lallafell DoH gear?
What is wearing masked Masked miquote?
or it is just some vanity crafted gears?
just wondering
From Left to Right
Acolyte Set (15/Sastasha-Copperbell, TamTara), Heavy Darksteel set with detachable helmet (concept art/new?), Cavalry Set dyed Black (34/Brayflox), Infantry Set dyed Red (34/Brayflox), Foestriker's Set dyed blue (15/Sastasha, Copperbell, TamTara), Battlemage Set (34/Brayflox)
The upper picture has 2 variations of the speculated Whitemage AF2 gear but dyed Blue/White, so it's just a new set. (Shown as Concept Art at a Liveletter)

Make it 1 slot - adjust the stats and make hands + legs + feet invisible or break up into components please <3 <3 <3
What I would like to know is if I can turn off this piece of crap system so I don't have to look at your ridiculous vanity sets and simply see what you're actually wearing without inspecting you? How does it work in WoW for example, is it possible to turn off?
I believe you'll be able to use it as in the last blog update they said you can "cast the glamour of a robe on a hooded cowl, as the body and head slot of the hooded cowl include the body slot of the robe ( In this case, you will not appear to be wearing headwear). Original blog post: here
Mages of Eorzea, be happy! The day when we can say goodbye to those horrible cowls has come!
Every time i see bard gear i think of aladdin.
ARAAABIAN NIIIIIIGHTS LIKE A ARABIAN DAAAAAAYS
I understand that it might be difficult to check someone's iLVL and maybe they could add this information next to our names, but as far as your tastes are concerned I think should just accept that some people like wearing gears you don't, just like IRL. I think DoM Roegadyns are ridiculous but what can I do?
I hope Gerolt gets an updated cutscene when forging these weapons/armor in 2.2. In his current cutscenes he's just hammering a piece of black plate or something (doesn't matter which relic). Kinda ruined the immersion a bit.
I should have done less ranting and more explaining, I see. To be honest I don't care if you look ridiculous, hell alot of the gear sets in MMOs do look ridiculous even if they're BiS. However I simply don't like the idea of vanity sets, and thus I'd like to turn it off. By all means use it but it just doesn't appeal to me in any way or form.
I am REALLY peeved about the level 50 requirement to use glamours. Hell, my whole leveling group was excited about this. We're new to the game and in our mid 20s and were rather disappointed by how a lot of low level gear looks alike. Even gear dropped in dungeons looks recycled. I'd so hoped the glamour system would help with that. Guess not.
The game doesn't differentiate between "cloth" "plate" or "leather" armour. I'm pretty sure what they mean by type is that you can't glamour a DoM equip onto DoW or vice-versa. For example, if you're trying to glamour MNK AF onto PLD, it won't work because PLDs can't equip MNK gear.
