Thanks for translating for us. Maybe SE should hire you to teach them english.

All sides has those "bad apples", just got to ignore them.
btw those special classes are made to use in a party play where a role is needed, that does not mean old classes we have now is going to be useless.
I thank you for your kindness but they said "They hopes FFXIV can be widely accepted world-wide" then they told Famitsu everything they never told us on the lodestone or IGN or E3 or anywhere else and their translator suppose to do their job if they want to be widely accepted world-wide
If you mean "SQEX should post this interview on Lodestone with EN/FR/DE version", I must clarify this is not the case.
The original interview is posted on a paper magazine, so the copyright is belong to Famitsu, not SQEX.
Basically I will be sued for this translation if they really want to.
What I am done is no different from anime-fansub.
It's very easy to understand:
1. SE is a Japanese company first and foremost.
2. English based companies by large doesn't give Japanese or Chinese outlets info till after they give their home outlets info, e.g E3 info is usually reported by bilingual individuals, it never comes directly from the company themselves.
It's very common in the business world. Best part is, you guys get info when it matters and then continually complain about it. The producer letters get translated which comes directly from the guy in charge himself. If you guys truly were "ignored" you wouldn't even get those.
This is all wonderful news!!
Nothing to complain about from what they said. The fact that the new UI is coming makes me ultra happy!
But I am really... really torn that I still have no idea what Conj or Thm will become =(
I don't get why people are complaining. Sure they gave famitsu the info first, but we already know that there will be a letter this week. I am just thankful we have nice players like Reinheart, Renta and Kristina who translate this stuff for us.
It really takes a lot of work. While I do follow the JP boards as well, translating all the posts is just too much of a hurdle for me, hence why my respect goes out to those who do translate it for us. I know I don't have the energy to do it. ^^
Thank you very much for the translation Kristina, feel free to ignore the few trolls rolling around.
Sigh.
Yes, because there's no such thing as an "exclusive", right? By your reasoning, any interview the New York Times runs should be simulcast WORLDWIDE to every single major publication at the same time. Otherwise, they're not "widely accepted." TIME Magazine should never have an exclusive interview with any of its luminaries since, by your reasoning, that's unfair.
This is a great interview that Square happened to grant to Connect! On Magazine.
We're getting regular Letters from the Producer every ~2 - 3 weeks, with far more detailed release tables than what the magazines get (and these Letters are translated and posted on Lodestone immediately).
Let's try and stay positive here.
Yup, lots of reasons to be positive now. I am really excited. *Can't wait to be a little Lalafell Bard* >:3
That was more solid information than we've had in the last 6 months...
Can you elaborate if the entire crafting system will be redone, or only a few crafting aspects/recipes tweaked? This translation is a bit unclear.Quote:
Materia crafting will go live on patch 1.19, which is also a major patch. The crafting recipe will be totally changed, and the status (abilities) of crafted items will be reconsidered (means: renewed).
Please :)
Please don't let archer be thief.
HA! I understood that without Google! I feel so proud T_T
Back on topic...thanks a lot Kristina. Really nice information. But something came to my attention, seems that we'll have to wait a lot more for Chocobos/mounts. Other than that, everything seems nice.
I'm guessing the XI letter was the first one?
My guesses are:
Gladiator > Paladin
Pugilist > Monk
Lancer > Dragon Knight
Marauder > ?
Archer > ?
Conjurer/Thumaturge > WHM/BLM/BRD
what about the "combined classes"? maybe Thief possibly be from combined jobs, idk MRD+ARC = THF :P!!
BARD ! Hope is tied to magic classes
i love how everyone believes that archer will get bard with no evidence. For those of you lets say over the age of 16 (i'm 21) if you remember the first Big Brother U.S.A. "expect the unexpected" thats xiv right now lol.
Archanist could turn into bard.
wait... were they saying the evil armor will be artifact for one of the combined class jobs or was that current finalized jobs?
I R CONFUSED.
They didn't say which specific Job will get Evil Armor as Artifact.
To we Japanese players it looks definitely for Dark Knights (at least for previous FFXI players).... But which is the corresponding class, and where is the scythe and two-handed sword.... left for questions.
I think the job system is a fantastic way to go. It seems like the classes will be the broader roles to play in levelling and being more all-rounders so great for those who want to SP solo or in small parties. Then the challenging content has you take on a job rather than class for specialisation - allowing more challenging content tailored to tactics that involve the jobs' roles better!
Not sure if you are a European player, but if you are, you would be used to it by now with every MMO owned by an American company. Don't take it personally, it isn't as if they hate you, if anything for being 'second grade citizen' we get far more information and developer contact than I'm used to in my general EU MMO playing.
As to the interview, really good to read, and it gives me hope that the game will be good - not what I bought, but it might still turn out to be enjoyable in the end. With this:
probably being the most useful piece of information, even though they have stated it many times at least they keep us informed that it really is causing issues rather than just using it as an overarching excuse. Also, I definitely want to be a Bard!Quote:
After the overhaul is done, most of issues that make you feel "why can't they do this?" will be addressed.
Thanks a lot for the translations Kristina, but please allow me to re-translate the quoted information above, as it seems giftforce has misunderstood the system.
In the quoted portion, it says:
"The Materia system will allow you to make the best gear, and for those interested in the best gear; the materia system is balanced in a way where attaching/adding materia to crafted gear will have better results then attaching them to NM dropped gear."
I apologize if my translation is not 100% correct, but it does literally say that Materia enhanced crafted gear will show better results then Materia enhanced NM dropped gear. Kristina also included this information " [materia buffed gear] > [NM dropped gear]" just not a word to word translation. So thank you again Kristina for the translations and the new information.
Guessin NM gear will have some unique effects crafted gear wont have.
It just means NM gear will be less stronger than a fully grinded materia gear.
It's the same concept with NQ and HQ gear, u can spot an NQ gear or you can strive for HQ gear, however with materia the option is open for everyone, not only for crafter with high ranks or rich players.
its all about 'option', since community here bitch about everything and anything, so they need an aggro off and on icon to please both sides.
Yoshi-p spy us ! /wave Yoshi-p ^^
I don't consider my initial post as trolling or bitching, as i was trying to clear up what i assumed was a misunderstanding. I now realize the situation is similar to flipping a coin where the person complains whether its heads or tails. I apologies if you took my post to be provoking, i'll remove it. Next time you don't have to go to the trouble of logging into a different account to post, i'm pretty sure everyone who reads these forums already know which user names belong to the same person, having said that i also should of known better then to reply to you so i'll end my conversation with you here.
Thank you very much for the translation! Such good information.
My two cents is, though they said only one job per class WHM and BLM is actually both for CON and bard is THM with all those absorb spells and the fact you can transfer buffs to other players.
Don't forget, the class abilities are going to be redistributed I'm pretty sure. So what we see as con and thm now, may not be the case after the update.
No, my original translation is not word-to-word, and you clarified one thing:
The weapons and armors coming from crafting, with FULLY FUSED MATERIA, will perform better than those looted from NM.
But it doesn't say what if equipment looted from NM are fully fused (as rep commented before, some equipment cannot be fused).
BTW, allow me to point out one more thing: it is known to be hard to get a fully fused equipment because the ability to fuse 2nd materia is described as "very risky" by reps.
So, as a result, the crafted equipment, fully fused with materia, will somewhat as rare as similar one looted from NM.
It sounds reasonable from the view of balancer, to keep both fighters and crafters busy. :p
I heard they wanted to follow a tactics route which I would really enjoy. Though I guess most people have most classes ranked fairly high now, with all the spare time they had. I would really like to have different jobs per class as I really want to be both DD and tank with my GLD.
