Omni has it right with "entitlement." That's all I gotta say... coming into lv50 pvp in AF1 and lv30/40 items is stupid, and your team has little-to-no chance of winning against decently intelligent opponents.

I don't know how many times I'm gonna have to point it out for you to realize that saying they deserve it/raging at people for really any reason (like wearing bad gear), makes you as bad, if not worse than them.
In the meantime, it's funny to see you justify being a jerk at least. :3
I think you also need to realize that most players (especially casual ones) make choices based on what they want to do, and that you and the rest of your team don't really matter to them.
Not that that makes it okay to be a jerk to them either, but heyyyyyyy, you know ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
And how many times do we need to point that before that "rage" comes out, these people are told very nicely and considerately their gear is not appropriate for Lv50 pvp, and that they should go try 30s and 40s instead to farm up enough points for some i70 gear... I don't appreciate that someone's response to me was "Right, because I'm sure you did that LOLOL," and when I explain to them that actually, I did do that for a great deal of the points farming, they call me a liar.
It's not fair to those of us that did it the "hard way" and got gear and learned to play in 40s before moving up to 50s to be stuck on a team with people who couldn't care less. They just want their 20 exp and then they can move onto the next one.
On the same note, I just ran into a i90 PVE WHM who does NOT suck and can actually stay alive long enough for the team to do some serious damage. Kudos to him. If everyone was like that, this wouldn't be an issue.
Mmkay, so they're told multiple times, and that suddenly makes it okay to berate them.
Gotcha.
Thanks for clearing this up.
If this really bothers people enough to start getting legitimately angry, I don't know how they deal with people intentionally trolling or anything like that.
Like doesn't your blood pressure explode eventually? :3
Just remember, anything you do now to rank up will be easier to do later. The end
They still raging on people in 50s? Guess what which ever yields you the fastest queue, go for it, because it's just a grind, win or loose you still get the same rewards. Fastest queues are the most optimal, there is no ladder which these people seem to think they are competing for.
The ToS states clearly you can't harass other players, under no circumstances, you are breaking the rules you agreed to. But the players you harass do have the right to report you for harassing them. You get a warning that doesn't ever come off, for your duration of playtime in ffxiv, you get reported twice you get a suspension, third time your account is done, trust me se has a very serious policy in regards to harassment. My suggestion is to make a 3 man or 4 man, and pug as little as possible. So people that are grinding can continue to do so in peace, we want to have fun in unranked pvp. On the bright side SE don't do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WssU9IvLLRI any more.
I would ask a GM to go into 50 cap in ilvl 55 pvp gear and see it for themselves.
I got your back too buddy <3
I'm not gonna sit here and report people for anything, I don't think anybody on the internet could really get me offended, at least not in this game.
But it still makes you look like a jerk, and I'm pretty sure I would start screwing around in matches a lot more when I got the chance. :3
I got full i70 but when i'm consistently Q'd against rank 30's I switch to rank 40 PvP (see what I did there) so I can actually have a shot at winning and not farmed for an hr by rank 30 squad
if you really want to go in lvl 50 pvp with terrible gear or full PvE just saying you will get rocked every time
Eventually people will get to know who you are and insults will start flying and i'm talking about every PvP person that goes in there consistently
Don't be surprised if it starts happening
At this point I am done with pvp. As a white mage it is a severe beating.
With 30 ish losses and maybe 5 wins. It is absolutely not fun to try to get better.
If you enter lvl 50 pvp, with ilvl 70 pvp gear you will still be facerolled by rank 30s, there is no competition between rank 30 vs any ilvl gear, ilvl caps are a necessity.
I had seen it for myself, queued up as ilvl 55, the other 3 were ilvl 70. The door opened I ran around the wall, just before I got around the wall all three of my group members were finished, there was absolutely no competition, the opposing team were rank 30s. Unless you are r30, you are not competitive, hence my stance on it being a grind and nothing more, fast queues are only optimal at this point, competition certainly isn't, because there is none.
This thread is a waste of space. If you've grinded for 15hrs a day straight for 5 days, you'd probably have your whole left side geared.
HI FUZZY! Thanks for keeping me alive on a regular basis (when I don't LoS you!)
In other non-news, the system is flawed.
I'm pretty sure all you have to do is farm lv 30/40 bracket to rank 11/12~ and if you're decent enough you can hang in the 50 bracket without dying too fast. I've done it and it wasn't too bad. Even beat some r30 healer in my i70 gear but it's definitely harder. Maybe WHM has it a bit easier? I'm not sure.
What rank 30 is queuing in 30/40s brackets....
You would be surprised.
You can queue as 4 in them.
For a couple days there was a group on Primal queueing as 3/4 in the lower level brackets.
R30s, or at least a few of them were.
Why? Who knows.
Was kind of sucky to fight them over and over and over though.
This but mainly because do not have all the fancy skills, that let us be honest SE should have a balance system that separates us by rank, not by level. Another thing I have started to notice is those that lag in PvP have a huge advantages because they warp, such a great system that someone is beside me and then on the other side of the wall. What SE really needs to do is remove the win/loss record and just call it wins or not even have it at all and instead just judge the system by PvP rank.
So don't? I wouldn't.
Gear treadmills in games that are supposed to be about strategy are lame. That and, honestly, I spent about 5 minutes playing the PvP for this game and it looks like a live alpha. Everyone speeding around like speedy gonzalez, you can never tell whether or not a target is actually in range of a melee attack, camera too close to the character to be able to even see what's going on around you and there are CC effects that can last 30 seconds.
I mean, I am glad that at least some players enjoy it, but from my point of view it's a very disappointing feature that was released without being polished.
All it would take to improve the PvP grind is to put people into ranked brackets. I'm a reasonably experienced PvP healer from other games who is by no means an expert and hasn't grinded to 30. I've started and I'm going to spam 30's and 40's. Let people's first experience of PvP be with other people in the same boat and it would be a lot more fun and fair for all. Rank 30s won't get bored/frustrated and everyone else gets to learn with their peers.
Boo..accidently cleared 1st message. Anyway..if negative comments are bothering ya enough to report em, can just switch chat log over from General to Battle lol..problem solved immediately. As Omniwaink was kindly stating though, don't exactly expect people (in 50s) to throw backflips in your honor if, in simple truth your a liability. Ya might be the nicest guy in the world and its nothing against ya personally but no one likes to get raped for someone else. Sucky part is that even i70 armor doesnt make much a difference in most matches @_@; On side note...keep a list of all the meanies >:D Gets fun at 30~
Ilvl 70 armor gets you around 180 morale, it's a nice difference and with that a full team of i70's has chance even against r30's ilvl90 gear, I've seen it happen. And honestly it's more how the player plays than the gear itself. I've seen i70's do insane damage and fight really well and know which targets to hit and leave alone, that makes the game. Those of you who say oh just get r30 and you're invincible is a joke. There are some r30's you can just steam over, their gear doesn't make much difference. There are premade r30's that are experienced players and you won't win in ilvl 70 gear, but this is rarer, you usually get one or 2 on each side. I think though, they should simply make lv 50 for only people who are rank 25 and plus, that way you have skills and ilvl 70 armor to compete with. Anything lower than r25 will be 30 and 40 bracket.
With people rightfully whining about long queue times, seperating people into brackets doesnt sound like such a great idea right now. People should be made more aware of lvl40, doing that would ofcourse get more lvl40 queues to pop. We already have brackets if you think about it. 0 morale and with morale enabled. Problem is people dont know this, get farmed in 50, feel they cant outplay the gear difference, probably get whined at when being a healer, then give up.
Guy above: I will toast to that post. I agree with you, but i feel 25 is a bit too high, and dont forget r40 doesnt give you full access to all your skills. I would be getting more bored if i hád to play as a lvl40 for such a long time. As you said, (near) full i70 has a fighting chance against more than most r30.
