think of the pstch server as a popular irish pub, and EVERYONE from a stadium goes to this pub some people will get in fast some won't. It isn't that patcher or your pc. It is just the fact that too many people are trying to download the patch. with ffxi etc i never waited till i started to get the error.
Just because your unlucky don't mean it is that patcher fault. -

A bunch of kids crying over something they can't control. I used to do the same stuff, them I grew up.
You guys cry the game is SOOOO BAD yet you cry when you can't play. Or of your download is slow due to congestion. Wait till tomarrow. I stopped dowloading stuff on patch day for this reason. I never did a ffxiv the day of the patch, where as with my other games I did. -

The fact of the matter is that many people here have played many online games, and FFXIV is far and away the single worst patching experience many of us have ever seen.
I've not experienced an hours-long download issue since I forwarded the appropriate ports back in October, but I can say that today, Rift released a hotfix with approximately the same amount of content as this "patch" and it was downloaded and installed within two minutes.
Feel free to draw your own conclusions. -

Just want to add, I share my updater port config with my torrent config (and nope, not at the same time). I am 100% sure that I am not firewalled and still don't get remote connections. I have no problem getting remotes for torrent downloads, I can even FTP my PC on the same port from a different ISP...
SE, whatever retarded filtering schema you are using for letting people get remote connections please drop it, you are screwing people into either waiting 6 hours for a small patch or obtaining it by unofficial means. -
