Considering they accounted the economy (basically current gil in circulation) and non-legacy worlds is fairly low..that's not saying much because Diabolo's Large is still fairly low in price compared to Legacy. So you're telling me you have a few people floating around with 625+ million in your FC?
Diabolo's Large:
Large 100,000,000 106,250,000 112,500,000 118,750,000 125,000,000
Legacy 1 Large:
Large 250,000,000 265,625,000 281,250,000 296,875,000 312,500,00
Legacy 2 Large:
Large 500,000,000 531,250,000 562,500,000 593,750,000 625,000,000
So yeah, "gil isn't hard to make", that's true..but I'm sure a handful of people in a FC on certain clusters don't have that much gil laying around, or then again...when SE did RMT sweeps and got rid of billions of gil, some that complained were from non-legacy worlds...it makes more sense now...:D
The very worst plot of land on Gilgamesh (and it's attached servers) costs 8,000,000gil... Which, while not the most expensive is far out of the range of the FC's that would want a small house (the 6-10 region); I'm sorry, but the average player does not have millions of Gil to donate and shouldn't be expected to have that much. The cost should be in building the house up, not getting the land.
I'm fine with having to put in effort for housing, but when you compare XIV's housing system to others.. one of Square's "Big things" of XIV falls flat.
i think so too !
houses are expensive to live in.
is it mission impossible?
It becomes the uproar in Japan.
from japan
Exactly, he told us all about the houses, and omitted the obscene barrier to entry with plots....misled is the appropriate word. He made it seem cheaper than it is.
There are two parts to owning house. The expensive part and the cheap part. He only mentioned the cheap part, to make it sound more appealing.
Besides, he also said after that you'll be buying up more land. Who is going to be doing that exactly?
First off that quote is so old, it doesnt apply anymore. They could not have known how gil seller would ravage the economy and how easy people would make gil. Second, it states HOUSE in the quote not LAND but HOUSE and a house cost 60k.
This is true. I know some players that can each buy large lots on their own. There is a reason why prices are so high and it literally says it in the patch notes.
I feel like if some of the players on these forums should spend less time complaining and more time in the game they might be able to make some more gil.
Each server has its own markets up and downs. Spend some time and find what you can do to make some gil on your server.
Yoshi also said that we will have more ways to make money in 2.1. I'd say we need a couple weeks with dailies/roulette and the added gil from dungeon kills to get a better feel for how mad we should be getting about FC house prices.
Oh the hypocrisy! You want to talk about chilling out over things that don't effect you? How about critical forum posts?
You dare patronize to us about complaining about trivial things? Unlike your issue, the prices actually effect us. Your complaint? That critics are bruising your fragile ego, by "attacking" a game company that makes a product you enjoy.
The insane thing is, that this problem will prevent you from enjoying the content too, but chances are you're either too apathetic to the content, or you're too concerned with appearing supportive to the company, out of misplaced affection.
So you sit here and wage a pointless war against other players, even it goes against your best interest. It boggles the mind how counterproductive people like you are to communities. You want to know why developers don't post on forums? Because they don't have to. They have people like you to defend them unconditionally.
This. It is time for people to wake up and start to realize that he isn't quite the ambassador for gamers that just want a fun final fantasy MMO that he originally advertised himself to be. With constant lockouts on all the content making this game a 1 day a week thing, the servers still being terribly optimized, our gil being reduced by 9/10 with the promise the markets would even out and it wouldn't effect us(decent food is still 2k a piece on my server), and now the housing prices which make the gil reduction even more detrimental, plus a plethora of other bad decisions it makes you wonder where yoshi is really going with the game. It is still passable, but if there isn't something huge in 2.2 then I foresee many people jumping ship. What was once considered to be a highly successful relaunch compared to 1.0 standards may end up becoming a floundering game if they keep using design policies that are more anti player than anything. I remember in 1.0 I was excited about what every patch ended up bringing to the table because it some how improved the game, most of the improvements were fairly substantial, but here we have virtually no improvements and some fodder content that is more or less dead on arrival to people to anyone that can even clear turn 1-4 of coil every week.
i don't get you people, u complain about the game being easy and now one thing that will not be easy of getting you still complain, suck it up. i mean i got 3 relics in a month it is easy , finally something hard to obtain,, finally
Housing is a great money sink for the legacy or hardcore players which will only benefit everyone else in the long run given the implications on inflations.
I agree with you. Its not as easy to make gil as it was at relaunch but I still managed to pull in a good 10mil this month. I am glad the plots are 312mil and slowly drop down over time makes something hard to get, provides some status among fc's and players and gives a reason to use gil. this will hopefully allow for prices of current items to remain stable and or incrase a bit as ppl hopefully will want to obtain as much gil as they can for items and not undercut by hundreds of K on certain items. Anyone who says making money is hard isn't doing what they need to in order to make gil imo. So stop whining and being lazy get off your backside and make some money.
Time invested means you have something to play for. If your playing an Mmo you don't have much else to do anyway. And if you do, then choose what you want to do more. every final fantasy game since the dawn of time has always been prized on hours of gameplay. console and PC alike.
Misleading us is Yoshi's specialty, ever since that mock up screenshot of ARR using 1.23 skills and implied combat system.
Edit: Even before that, ever since the first players poll.
No matter how sugar coat it is still misleading, and yes people are gonna be mad about it. Hell legacy are gonna be furious. Have every right to be. True legacy players have stuck by through everything. The terrible launch, crappy lag, constant changes, etc etc. So why is it seem to get shaft at every turn. Many of us have been forced to abandoned our characters just to play with friends. I can also say all these people saying they got XXmil gil without buying and only doing so and so are full of it. My main played since day one 1.0. I was lucky be in good ls at start didn't spend a lot of gil, didn't do any exploits i ended game with 32mil at server shutdown and came back to a mere fraction of that. new character hell can spend a day farming and be lucky to hit 20k for a FULL day at prices now. True FF fans aren't against work, hell some of us took more than a year to level first job. We do however ask that it be reasonable and enjoyable.
Can you prove without any doubt that they weren't?
Players have the right to feel a bit mislead. Yoshi knew what question was really being asked even if the exact wording wasn't used in asking. Playing "dumb" to hide information from players at that time was just a way to sidestep the upcoming anger from players around the world, not just NA players. Yoshi is not stupid, far from it. But he needs to choose which questions he answers in a way to postpone potential backlash from the community.
people are way to quick to complain and light up torches......
Prices are high FOR NOW, it will remove lots of gil from the game from the ones that want it right now. Then it will be lowered and it will be affordable for most FCs. After all that we will get personal housing, and the rest of us can get a house. Same goes for many of these other changes people are getting all pissy over. A lot of changes like this have to be at least tried out, if they don't work, then they are changed.
Big issue is you can't just upgrade size at a later time
Nope :3 though, I am absolutely certain that they were still conceptualizing the prices, maybe it's a combination of fan-boyism and optimism, or it may be that I'm studying to be a game developer and understand the things are never really 'final' in a video game until it goes gold, they may have had the information finalized they may not have, to cry foul and declare it misleading would mean you have proof thereof. I'm honestly just sick of people criminalizing others because things that were never actually the main topic of conversation are not the way they pictured them to be, and have no way of actually proving that there was foul play involved.
That is true.
[QUOTE=OldFFXIPlayer;1673781]I am what you would call an "older" player. I'm not sure what the median age is but I am fairly certain I am quite a bit above it. I played FFXI for 5 years; finally quit out of frustration, (killing the same NM over 50 times and never getting the drop is just stupid.) It was also frustrating because it became too much like real life; players that were the "haves" and players that were the "have nots." I work for a living and really only get to play on weekends, I'm pretty sure I will be shut out of this housing that is planned for FFXIV.
I am also an older player, played ffxi for 8+ years, these prices and the grind associated with them only contradict the casual leveling gamestyle SE seems to want to carry in ffxiv. This will strip subs from SE's game, the prices are simple fantasy and will simply promote more RMT sales.
The past tense of "to mislead" is "misled".
