I'm sure that really warms their heart...

He also said patches were going to occur twice a month, in reality it's more like once a month. Perhaps it's the way things that are worded that causes these issues. Instead of telling us the earliest possible date, then being late (causing grief), tell us the latest expected date and then deliver early (causing excitement and renewed faith).
If when they turn the game around and all the current freeloaders start paying (lol) the game will fail and close if that is it's playerbase, the game does not have enough players to sustain itself. Especially how much it cost to develop, it needs a huge boost in numbers to even break even.Quote:
Freeloaders? Aren't we all freeloaders by your analogy? After all, none of us are paying for this game. However, us "freeloaders" are people who have stuck with this game for a long time, and will become long-term paying customers if SE can deliver on their promises.
The game will only be a success if they can bring lots of new players in, if they can't do that the ones that have stuck with the game while you didn't pay a dime will make no difference at all, also really? sticking by a product that's free is in no way a sign of support at all.. they are doing you a favor not the other way around. It will still crash and burn, so yeah we/you are all freeloaders and don't really matter very much in the grand scheme of things.
The current playerbase are beta testers for a bigger audience they hope to bring into the game.
I agree that it would be nice to have a little communication offered to us. I think this may be the longest we have gone without any updates on the Lodestone since the game came out. Two weeks tomorrow, I think?
I don't mind the patch taking time, that's expected. It's not difficult to type up a letter, though, or to provide a glimpse of what is to come.
I like reading the letters. I can't explain why but its exciting lol
Letters are great, but implementation is better.
Just all talk at the moment :( Rather, it has been just all talk since Yoshida has come on board, but I get it, it takes time to pretty much redo the entire game lol. Still, I'm sadfaced.
I don't know about any letter from the producer, but Microsoft's currently ongoing E3 Press Conference is terrible.
(Tomb Raider looked pretty sweet, though)
How is it not support when you utilize their product and provide feedback? While we may not be paying our support in coin, we are paying it with time. Time is very valuable, and I can think of many things (or other games for that matter) that I could spend time on over FFXIV (which would be very detrimental, as once players leave, the chances of them returning are low). So yeah... This "freeloader" has provided ample support and they should respect that, along with every other player who has done the same.
Ontop of the Earthquake and Tsunami that delayed things which the typical cynics are now saying did nothing to the Japanese business world and it's being used as an excuse. >.>
Tomb raider is about lara croft sorta like a female indiana jones. The games are very fun and very challenging. You gotta watch out for animals attacking you, traps, and human enemies. A bit of trivia. The look of lara croft was designed by an 18 year old intern. Its an action adventer game. If you got a ps3 they got tomb raider 2 and 3 on the market grpahics are crap but game is fun :) (its been around since the early 90s)
They probably wont release 1.18 patch until after E3.. They'll give all the E3 goers the first chance to play FFxiv with the new combat system before anyone else..
It isn't. Unless they didn't bother putting it on the press release.

You wish, although his last letter did say that he try to get a video in, but with the update supposedly this same month what would be the point?
lmao anyone wanna bet its gonna be on the very last day of june the 30th? or even an anouncement on the last day saying that it will be further delayed even! =/
Hey Wakfu is a really fun game. I stopped playing FFXIV (for now) to play that game.
Oh thats totally right, I didnt shell out 75 bucks when the game first dropped, I found in the gutter outside of gamestop and wiped it off with my shirt and installed it not knowing what it was. IF you don't think a JAPANESE company like SE doesn't take the loyalty of their consumer base seriously (both because of income AND face value), then you sir are my dumbass of the week. (pins a shiny medal in the shape of a zit covered ass on Rainfish.) There you are sir, now go read a book.
MMn nevermind.
Someone must be streaming info already, because someone in my shell today kept going on and on about how the job unlocked by THM is going to be Time Mage. Either that or he was pulling my leg, since he mentioned Fencer and Arcanist were also confirmed as new classes.
Did you know gullible is not in the dictionary?
no news since 20 may ;_; (lodestone, letter, ...)
not that they are fast.... another year passing and we have the time where other devs bring out a complete offling rpg with a lot of content, or take just 1 year and we have a sequel with content, CS, new areas, etc. etc.
As far as i know Dragon age 2 wasnt the longest rpg but it only took 1 year and it wasnt all failed. I bet it had more content (also voice acting) then ffxiv will have within its first 3 years... its just slow.
Nobody wants rushed content... but people wanna see something before GW3 hits the shelves...
Yeah, that is pretty bad. Eidos has a stronger presence in that lineup than SE. You basically have XIII-2, Heroes of Ruin, an MMO they seem to care about more than XIV, and no Versus. I almost have to ask if they should have even made the trip at all.
It almost feels as if SE is trying to make their fans jump ship
