Im not sure who your talking about. All hard modes and higher have gear checks now, and the main go-to gear (Darklight) is loaded with ACC.

RoD nerf is actually a buff. Now that WAR takes care of the debuff you don't need to spend TP for it anymore. What's there to be angry about?
No some baddie in here said no one needs TP. He is a baddie and I was pointing it out. As for RoD... no one cares except bards.

IF/WHEN a pure DPS Archer job comes you babies better not complain about their dmg. "You are supposed to be a support class" won't work anymore. I would love to see what you babies would complain about.

Well, I guess this will resolve some TP issues at least? Sucks, but I see very few situations where I'd use RoD anymore outside of the free proc.
It's definitely unfortunate. I suppose they saw it was a useful ability, and slapped it onto Warrior so people would finally start asking them to the dance.
10% Evasion Down sure as hell isn't worth 200 TP, however. Perhaps if it was 100 TP, or even 150, it would be a little more balanced. Because at the moment, as long as you are intelligent with your Mythos/Allagan gearing, you'll never worry about Accuracy.
I am just amused at how much people complained about BRD damage being too high and being too mobile and needing a damage nerf so they can "realize their true role as support." Our nerfs to our cross-class abilities can be shrugged off for the most part, but the developers go ahead and nerf one of our best utilities that benefit the entire group and some people have the gall to walk into this thread and say that the RoD nerf was either justified or harmless? Do these people even realize what RoD offered?
I'm a little concerned though, that the person I quoted is also a BRD and could not comprehend the benefits our "old" RoD provided.
I know full well that Rod can be useful however it was never a necessary skill it was never OMG use Rod we need the debuff in any of the turns, it seems pointless to change the skill thats the biggest issue here really of all skills to change why this skill, but the overall impact is minimal really.
Also if you look at all the job changes collectively it seems that they have been made to make warrior more desirable, rather than omg my job has been nerfed look at the bigger picture so many players are really narrow sighted. fyi those that didnt look warrior now has a skill to reduce enemy damage we havent lost the ability to cause the debuff and monk has a damage increase as a party the changes are relatively small and imo have succeeded in balancing the jobs.
i would prefer if they took away ROD and give me another cross skill slot. meheheh at least it'll be something i will be using
Hang on, you run coil and you never use rod on leech bugs on turn 4? Never on muilt stacked snake and never rod on twintania? I find your story hard to believe. War skill only affect 1 target and rod is a aoe. that;s different. It is like SE is FORCE people to use war. Forcing people to change is never a good thing.
I'm happy about the "nerf" personally. It was much less detrimental that I thought it would be considering how powerful BRD is and will continue to be. I was expecting them to remove blood for blood completely, but nope! And now I don't even need to waste TP with RoD (lol).
Nobody brings BRD for RoD, so I don't really see how this is a nerf. BRD+mage combo is the strongest in the game currently. People use BRD for its songs and its extremely high DPS, hence the minor nerf.
That Andy guy claims we miss to see the bigger picture, but besides what you pointed out correctly, WAR's storm debuff is part of their DPS rotation. Not their enmity generating rotation.
So WAR's mitigation will be:
- Single target
- Either used when off tanking or not upkept as much as RoD when tanking
- Impossible to be used in strategies like cadeceus where the tanks are apart

There is NO big picture. The simply fact is that, SE want to FORCE us to use War, but no one in their right mind ever will, , so they nerfed both virus and ROD. This will made turn 4-5 a lot harder than it needed to be with virus and rod nerf. Or they want to made turn 5 harder to prevent the lack of content. People cry about bard overpower on Titan so they nerfed bard and buff other to made other class more desirable. But in the end nothing will change, melee will always be the first one to die. In the end, melee bring it all upon themselves for harder fight, they reap what they sow and i will enjoy their tear when they suddenly wipe in turn 4.
As i Dragoon i agree with the bard nerf, I was doing my rotation perfectly against Titan, and i was getting outdps by a low geared bard... You are supposed to be a support class...
Good Job Square Enix. Hope you dont revert that nerf !

- Internal release reduced from 20% to 10% in cross job.
Yeah its true that the damage reduction was better than the evasion, i mean dps isnt as important as damage reduction for most fight.
I dont understand this change but for all the other changes, I agree with SE.

SE could do some adjustments to base damage and songs to make BRD a more proper support class, but I guess they just don't care.
It's an indirect buff to DPS, since you won't have to spam Rain of Death.
Group still get the affect if they bring a WAR tank.
I can just tell most people who post here have never ever ever ever cleared Turn 5. I'm going to tell you where the BRD debuff for RoD is going to be missed the most.
Surviving that first gigaflare from Twintania with 1-2 people having a couple stacks on them. I want to see a WAR run over to Twintania and put the debuff on her then run back to the neurolink. It was always nice to be able to apply the debuff from within the neurolink, but I guess I can live without seeing as how its the only time I use the ability.
Just one less thing I am expected to do, I'm fine with losing it.
But I don't know why they bothered giving it an evasion debuff as a replacement instead of simply bringing its TP cost down to a reasonable level, its not something that will ever have a use thanks to being able to cap accuracy.
