Sell Gil on the Mog Station

Why not remove gil form the game and make it a pure barter system.

Why not just increase the gil reward in leves?
Why should it buyable with real money?

I for will quit if they sell Gil or go f2p. I've already done so with SWTOR.

$20 for a dye pack that will only affect one piece of armor...EA will never see another dime from me after their money grabbing antics...

I would. I would never pay real life money for gil, so I would then forever be at a disadvantage in game.

Not only that, it's a slippery slope in these situations. If they start selling gil, soon other things will follow. Exclusive mounts, minions, maybe even weapons and armour. It would feel like I was being punished because I'm not willing to fork out extra money on top of my subscription.

You are incorrect a lot of players will not continue to play. Even back in alpha and beta the players who suggested by anything for real life money, got creamed with NO and players said they would not play if they did that.

Then they will just use an intermediate currency which has happened in other games before. The only way to stop RMT is to remove the possibility of the game having an economy, remove trading altogether and have everything vendored. You can't seperate RMT from a free economy.

That's not because someone bought gil unless said person is a moron and doesn't have an authenticator. Only bads play without protection these days. It's like AIDS, only we're talking about a game.

If SE or Any game company ever does this, I boycott their entire product line and never deal with them again, as I have game companies in the past.

To the TC, this is the most idiotic crap I have seen posted for some time. I do not play fucking pay to win trash or f2p games ever, they are the thing ruining the entire gameing market. They need to die a very painful death.

Simple fix, people stop buying gil. RMT, wouldn't be as active if they weren't making money.

I despise gil buyers more than gil sellers, because lets face it, people only sell gil because lazy players buy it.

How did that work out for Diablo 3?

Isn't this the EXACT same thing they did on diablo 3? They had the same line of thinking to. And than found out later that it severely hurt the game way more than RMT ever could and went back and just let ppl RMT?

IDK if someone beat me to it but the thing is even if SE sold GIL it would have to be pretty damn cheap. Because if there's any real life money to be made RMTs are still going to sell gil.

The only way to stop RMT is to remove player trading in all of its forms entirely. That would be,

1. No trades, period
2. No Auction House

No way possible to get something from one person to another.

This would force people to level their own crafts to make stuff, do melds, farm their own stuff, etc etc etc.

GW2 has a system where you can convert real life money for gold in the game, and no, it doesn't combat gil sellers, it just makes people put ridiculous prices on the AH due to a lot of ppl converting gems into gold.

Yup.

The only thing worse than a gil seller is a gil buyer. Gil buyers are responsible for everyone being spammed to death by gil sellers.

Honestly, what the heck are you doing with the money to begin with?
Maybe the crafting community needs money but I really don't know what the adventurers need it for.
Gear = See Dungeons
Consumables = barely used
What's left? Teleport and Repair costs?

Honestly, what the heck are people buying Gil for? For that matter, what is there to spend gil on?
