And yet for all it's ease, you still can't do it and have to pay for people to carry you...

Because of the lockout factor and because of the fact that a lot of the gear pieces are major upgrades you would be hard pressed to find an FC that would do so. Titan runs are sellable because you can repeat often, these are once a week, make 5 mil and that sounds more enticing, but 500k is the price of a Titan win.
Hopefully every FC out there is decent enough to gear out their members secondary jobs with Allagan well before they consider selling any of the drops.
I never understand the arguement of why people shouldn't sell runs because it makes worse players. I completely agree with the statement but how is that YOUR problem? Majority of people run with there FC's anyway. You don't pug anything unless you have to no?
I mean sure the game would have worse players, but lets be honest how often do you trust taking a random to coil in the first place?
I dont understand the logic behind paying to be carried for the best in slot gear, if you dont have the man power or dsire to run endgame what is the point in having it? Everything outside of coil can be facerolled with DL.
now ladies and gentlemen w'eve hit the rock bottom of the evolutionary chain, not only does he want to be carried, he wants to buy allagan for 500,000 which is not even the half price of a rosegold jewlery on legacy servers I don't know whether to cry or laugh at op, but hey at least anyone on his server and blist him and make the game hell for him, and hopefully people like him will leave the game.
Nothing wrong with focusing on craft, i have friends who are simply just racking up gil and crafting all day, their stupidity and arrogance isn't such that they'd ask to buy coil, they simply are contempt with crafting and getting gear when and if they want it, with the effort it took the rest.
The shamelessness of the OP is just appalling.
theres nothing morally or ethically wrong with what OP is trying to do, it's just kind of ghey is all
edit: to expound, I think most of the people who take issue with is request are imagining themselves in his shoes. In say, turn 2. Laying dead on the floor while a group of non-friends that you paid are killing ADS, and you're just feeling kind of like a lame useless bag of gil. But pretty armor!
I don't even understand this, what is the point of getting the allagan gear if you're not even running the dungeon? I mean, what point is there to waste your money if you're not even playing the endgame content, well aside from leeching. Sure you're making your character stronger, but for what? From the sounds of it you don't have an FC to even put said gear to use, nor the motivation to find one to run the content to get actual experience. Not insulting you or anything, as I really don't care what other players do with their time/money but what I am is curious as to the reason when there doesn't seem like much of a point to it. Just would seem silly from my view I see a guy in allagan gear running coil and not have any idea what they're doing. Tbh though, just feels like a flamebait thread, but thought I'd throw my two cents in anyway.
You have a good 4-5 months before that even happens and it's already been said they will nerf the first set of turns with harder content comes out which will be 2.2. Save your gil and just run it after the nerfs when any random will be able to do it, 500k a piece will not cut it even on non legacy servers let alone legacy. I'd literally rather the piece go to an offspec or be thrown away than have to carry a random through that's only willing to spend gil on loot, you aren't getting in without paying upfront for boss kills, no one will carry you when a boss may not even drop a piece you want so they get nothing because you're only willing to pay for gear.
Paying for gear is a good sign that the game is not for you. Quit it and play something else.
OP with all the time spent waiting you could be farming.
ITT: Hypocrisy.

Half or more of ffxiv players already bought their relic runs why ppl are mad about buying allgan armor if ur worried about unskilled players then dont use DF and run with your FC and i dont mind paying 2mil for a piece if thats the price ppl gonna sell it for
I think those players are pathetic too mind you. If you are just going to buy everything whats the point. You may as well go play a true pay to win type game. I'm sorry bro but the fact that people are paying for their titan runs and now trying to buy allagan pieces just baffels me. You are defeating the purpose of an MMO, and its just truely pathetic. Pretty much lets me know you like to go about the easy way of aquiring things without having to work hard for it.
I'm still trying to figure out why you and so many other people here care so much when it has zero impact on you. Yea you might not agree with it and it's not something that you or I would do, but it's his gil and he can spend however he damn well pleases, within acceptable boundaries of the games(not breaking any ToS rules) which he isn't. If he's willing to pay and a FC is willing to carry, why are you getting your panties in such a bunch over it? What I find pathetic is your bitching about his choices which again, have no impact on you or what you do.
But it does impact you. Think about it if he is paying an FC to CARRY him through everything. How in the hell is he ever really ever learning the fight. You learn best by repition and from dying and trying again, but if you get ran through once and got your piece then you never really learned anything. Then this decked out person who had FC's carry him through everything gets in a real group and just continues to screw up, and slow us down since he never really took the time to actually go by the trial and error of learning things. I don't know where people get this notion that ones choices or actions never effect others. Its thoughts like that as to why we have such a screwed up society now.
Not that I endorse people being carried, but who is to say he'll EVER do coil again or even want to? It doesn't seem like he cares to or even wants to do coil for the difficulty or hardness of the battle, he just wants the gear to look pretty. If he never tries an 'extreme' or 'high difficulty' dungeon, how would that effect you?
You're assuming after getting the said gear he'll suddenly start trying to do coil (would would defeat the whole purpose of him buying the gear in the first place).
TLDR: He doesn't need to learn the mechanics of the fight if he never plans on doing it again after buying his gear run.
Another thing as well is the social impact it will have on that server's community. What happens when one group of people start selling Coil runs? Inevitably, more and more Coil run sellers will pop up too. I think it's bad enough that every person in Mor Dhona and their mother on my server are selling Titan runs, or even a full Relic package, simply because they want a quick buck.
People see one group doing a get rich quick scheme, they're most indefinitely going to do it themselves too. As others have said, why bother playing the content when you can just pay for it and get carried through it? Why are you even playing a game, when you're not even going to enjoy its core mechanics?
It's an ethical point of view, but if it doesn't affect you, it doesn't affect you. I personally don't think selling Coil runs will have as much impact as selling Titan runs, in terms of increasing the pool of bad but geared players to pick from, but altogether, it will affect the society.
I will also have to point out that the community's rather elitist requirement for simple dungeons like AK and WP are also a key factor in why people even buy runs. Can't get in a party because no Relic? No problem - go and buy a run, so you can satisfy some randoms on the Internet who demand that dungeons be cleared in 10 minutes or less. What's next? Will they ask you to be decked out in full Allagan for AK/WP too?
That is a totally different problem though. Which I find hilarious. They want at least full DL with Relic for WP/AK...or worse, Relic for Titan/Garuda HM.
OT, I still don't see a problem with it. I wouldn't do it but I think this whole "but it impacts you in the long run!" and this "social" impact you speak of are overly exaggerated and negligible at best. TLDR, it's not that deep or serious, let him blow his money how he wants.(which he clearly has no interest in actually doing the content, he just wants to look badass while doing his crafting, which OK in my book)
If you can't do endgame to get the pieces in the first place why would you buy them when you won't be using them?
I think you are missing the picture here. You see, him getting what he wants using gold will invite others to do the same. The price to be carried in Coil will be the cost of a kidney and half a lung, your average joe would like to have the same privilege as this rich crafter and then go ahead and buy himself nice amount of gold from RMT using his mumy CC. Economy get destroyed because lets face it, there were a lot of players who bought gold just to get HQ crafted gear, what do you think they would do to get Coil drops?
There is also the problem of achievements in this game. Many of us play the game competitively, wither you agree or disagree is not the point but Mr.baddie running around with the same gear as every good player is unacceptable. The content is meant to be challenged and played not skipped. Behemoth server alone have many running around with relics in AF 1 gear. I personally had to test new players whom want to join our FC in Titan just to confirm they actually earned their relic and won't give my FC mates a headache in Coil.
Why dont you just wait till someone sells a character on ebay who got everything in his inventory already? You have to do nothing anymore then, just stand around to show off stuff u bought instead of earning it /sarcasm
Really, why do you need this Gear? Seems like youre unable to beat any content by yourself, so theres no need to be well equipped.
aleast some legacy player don't act way he acting want on silver plate and i argee that player need tested on they skills
And this is why I have not joined an FC in this game: I am tired of people who think a game is a job and guilds who require you to prove themselves with either a resume or some sort of in-game test. It does not matter if their personality sucks as long as they know how to play, right? RIGHT!
Back in the old days, games used to be...games. Now they are JOBs. One mess up and it's out the door you go! FIRED! <insert insults here>
Can you blame people for simply paying ingame currency to avoid that crap entirely? I can't, I can already see the attraction just by the replies.
p.s. I raided hardcore for 9 years, now I think I am done. The drama, the guild implosions, the pure out right change in people's personalities (for the worst) once they get 'geared' makes me ill. :(
it nothing wrong test people who do hardcore raids. to each player group they enjoy something different
You could always find an FC that doesn't require that. To be honest I haven't seen many FCs on my server that have you fill out a resume.
