they can do whatever they want with their relics, in the game they paid subscription fees for, on their computers, in their lives.
these are their stories and you're not part of it.

the endgame community is so degraded at this point it kind of just doesn't matter anymore
to get darklight you need a decent grinding group who won't take you if you don't have relic
to get relic you need a decent titan group who won't take you if you don't have darklight
there are tons of people out there that are just unwilling to learn or gear up for titan and will just outright lie about it ruining the experience for others
a lot of the people who can beat titan are unwilling to risk getting stuck with the aforementioned "bads" so they won't just join groups
the raiding companies all shell up and segregate themselves from the rest of the world making bribery pretty much the only decent way to get a competent group and now that it's a known thing all the bad players are just grinding philo for crafting mats that the raiders buy then take the 10+ hours of money grinding right back for a 10 minute titan making the baddie be like "now i have a purple item so i'm all amazing" yet it doesn't change their standing in the world at all and put them behind almost half a darklight set
Is there going to be a traditional MMORPG structure where a small percentage of the player base has access to endgame content? How accessible is the endgame content?

Because the actions of those who whine the loudest about difficulty are the ones mmo companies listen to because the vast majority of the time they're the ones that pay most of the bills. Any mmo worth mentioning in the past 10 years has been nerfed again and again because more and more people feel entitled to see all the content, to get all the best loot just because they pay a subscription. If someone is not willing to put in the same amount of effort the more hardcore do to see the hardest content then they do not deserve to see said content, your subscription allows you to play the game and anything beyond that is entirely up to the amount of time/effort you're willing to put in.
And so, how does people that pay for a kill effect that at all? They got their relic fast and easy, then move on. Only people that will be complaining is the ones who STILL can't get it done. Anyways, now the thread has devolved into elitists bitching about bs not even related to the thread: good show! Do you need a shoulder to cry on? I am here for ya! Oh the injustice of it all!
people need to learn to dodge.speed dodging &awareness of positioning is the key to victory.
Not sure if lack of skill or patience or the fact giving up easily make many buy Titan fight <.<,which is kind of cheap. In the end the sellers are the own who benefit from the whole crap.
People who say they don't have time for this shouldn't play mmo.Everything is about having this badass gear > exp & road to gear is not relevant anymore ...
Except some people consider it more than just a 3 phase fight. Whether you do or not, some think of each time he jumps before heart phase to be a new phase, making it 5 phases with 3 before heart(he gains a new ability each time he jumps, which in a lot of mmos is the start of a new phase), heart and then after heart.
I think SE should like ban the people selling runs for a week, strip them of nearly all their gil and leave the buyers alone.
It's natural to assume relics are meant to be hard to get when THEY'RE THE BEST WEAPON CURRENTLY IN THE GAME.
I have an idea! Whenever you see "WTS Titan 500k," shout that you'll do it for free. That'll drive them out of business quick! Do enough runs pro-bono and they simply won't have a market -- problem solved.

They're more like AF weapons, than actual relics. The reason being, is the quest-line is actually quite simplistic and can be done in a matter of hours. You can do it in a day.
Don't be fooled; the quests aren't hard. Titan is the only involved fight because he's a boss with more than one gimmick and he can easily wipe your party if people don't understand the procedure of his attacks. The reason more people don't down him, is because the general quality of players in this game is greatly lacking, generally speaking.
They aren't hard to get; anyone can obtain them. The only reason they're the best weapons in the game (which is actually debatable when on the topic of Allagan weapons) is because the content is an EXTREMELY LIMITED pool. With more sources of content and other things added in the future, these easy-to-acquire weapons will eventually be replaced by something more hardcore. Things like Burtgang, or Excalibur - THOSE were difficult to obtain.
I was wondering about this. Early crafters and gatherers were working within the system, being the few able to provide what the thousands rushing to Lv50 wanted to have. They racked up a mighty balance. SE took a look, then cleared them of any violations, but still seized up to 99% of their gil. This enterprise sounds like it will catch SE's attention in the same way. Don't count your virtual money when SE is judge, jury and banker.
Hm, rather than pay for a titan kill, I'd consider paying for people who are competent enough to not stand in shit. I've managed to see a handful in some pre-made parties I've joined that can do it fine. There's always 1-3 that just can't for the life of them not get hit.
It's infuriating. This battle is only hard because you have to rely on 7 other people to not die.
It's really debatable on a case by case basis if allagan is better than relic
the damage and primary stats are exactly the same with secondary shifted around
like would a lancer rather have accuracy and crit or determination and skill speed?
or with paladin and bard you have same stats just shuffled around a little
or the allagan axe is setup like a dd weapon while relic is tank
I would agree with this, if the requirements on some servers weren't so ridiculous. More than half of them say you need to already have a relic on another job as proof that you know what you are doing (which I admit, isn't proof at all). And the stress of putting a party together is much too high for me. As a healer it is even worse. If a DD lags or is too lazy to move away from something that hurts him or her, the healer automatically gets the blame and is told, "You have one more chance. If you cause a wipe again, you are out."
Could join a FC, sure. If you aren't already in one with a small group of friends who you can't just leave.
There was one group I joined. Everyone was nice and understanding. We failed over and over until people ran out of time. No win, but I didn't care. I was happy to just even attempt it with a group of nice people.
On my server, it seems the only way to get Titan win is to either form a static with people who are like-minded, buy the win, or ditch friends to join a more capable FC.
Reading through all of Crica's posts, I have come to the conclusion that he is 12.
"I want to be special in a video game because I'm not special in life. Please stop doing things in the game that don't make me special, or I will make a thread on a forum to tell you how not special you are..."
I kinda feel like the OP got carried through the run. I've put countless groups together, and it always ends the same. 5 to 10% health, party gets excited, then wipe. Been two weeks trying to do this and yet, despite all the necessary requirements and such, haven't had a single group pass this. I can only spend so much time trying to do end game content before I'm turned off at the idea of logging in. Different servers equals different player base. You server might have more exp players, while on mine, it seems like everyone is new to the game.
Titan HM is basically the whole game. Dodge shit. If you can't do this, why even play?
I've seen alot of people not knowing much on how to play the damn game and have their relic already. It's sad.
You do realise when you weed out your tourists you also weed out you income to the game, and i don't mean the paying runners, i mean paying Square Enix...
Why would i make 500k to get a run through a "stupidly hard for the sake of it dungeon"(especially with Delay and my ping time), when i could go play something more fun and less tedious, its a virtual weapon in some mmo its not a brand new Ferrari...
I'll just wait for the nerfs then get it..
Doesn't matter how good each individual is at dodging Titan's attacks. You could execute everything flawlessly while maintaining #1 dps on 100 out of 100 attempts and still never finish Titan. Why? Because you rely on 7 others who know how to play too. You could take the best gamer in the entire world and he may fail Titan 500 times before success. Titan is not an individual skill check, hop down off your high chocobos nerds.
Why should it matter to you, honestly? If people want to spend their own gil to be carried through something, then let them. It's not you being cheated out of the experience, it's them. As long as it's not making a true impact on your gameplay then it really shouldn't matter.
Do I think that people should actually play the game? Yes....but I can't tell people what they should do with their own gil. That's their choice to waste it on something like that instead of learning and playing it for what it is.
Nothing wrong with purchasing Titan kills.
If you don't have an FC, the chances of you getting a Titan kill are next to 0% regardless of how good you are.
I'm posting this because I keep seeing more and more crafters on my server offering to meld materia for people at a cost. Infact, one of them is selling their melds for 10k a meld where the people who are getting materia melded are more often than not even crafters; they are battle classes 50% of the time.
These crafters aren't helping you. You aren't learning to meld. You're just going to need them again the next time you need to meld materia for your next relic because you didn't learn how to craft. Even that aside, it's downright saddening to see players resorting to having to "buy" their melds and even more upsetting to see our player base SELLING these melds. What happened to just wanting to play the game?
My FC is currently on the lookout for a second blacksmith before we start crafting relics and currently we help groups meld their weapons. We've been joining pugs and helping them and "giving away" melds to people who ask. However, in our group (it's 3-4 of us) we don't "carry" you, you are still required to craft your weapon and pull your weight but we will also teach you how to meld so the next time you need a meld you won't need us and you certainly won't need to buy it from someone else.
This, exactly. You can either spend a week spamming Titan PUGs or spend a day farming 500k and buy the opportunity to play with a group of capable characters. Which is a better use of your time? Would you honestly waste a week throwing yourself at the same fight over and over just to say you were lucky enough to find 7 other people who could scrape through the fight by the skin of their teeth? That doesn't sound like fun.
My fc sells titan and i would say around 75% of customers know the fight and dodge everything or at least dodge enough that they "deserve" a win. People who don't get landslided or hit by two weights or two bombs would be able to clear titan legit. If their healers or other dps didn't suck.
I love how there is an elitist PLD saying that those who buy the run dont deserve relic. Well this fight is a joke for a tank. So easy even day 1 tanks can do this fight. You just stand in a spot can even be semi afk not even look at the screen while you do your threat rotation over and over whereas everyone else does all the work, has to dps enough to destroy heart, needing to break rock prisons, dodge instant death , heal aoe and tank damage and actully suffer from the mechanics.
I make anywhere from 30-600k PER craft. My time is valuable and having all crafts leveled i constantly get bothered for melds. Im not gonna do a meld for free when in that same time i could've made gil. If you don't like what we charge for our time, then go level the crafting jobs yourself.
"What happened to just wanting to play the game?"
Douche-bag elitists yelling at folks for it being their first time, people rage-quitting after a loss, overall crappiness of the DF team you get.
Not condoning any of the above at all, but this all leads to the answer to the question, and it is all truth.
I make anywhere from 30-600k PER Titan. My time is valuable and having all jobs leveled i constantly get bothered for help with Titan runs. Im not gonna do a Titan for free when in that same time i could've made gil. If you don't like what we charge for our time, then go level the tanking jobs yourself.
It is so funny how this ridiculous people trying to defend their Titan Boughts and Sells. Fact is that you are bad players who cant manage to find people and kill a hard boss on your own, you are to lazy to become better in your gameplay skills and you are to lazy to teach other players if you have good skills. Fact is that people who sell their Kills are greedy selfish people who dont want to help bad players, they just want to enrich themselves on bad players and by that they ruin the big thought of every game >>> A challenge you have to beat! A challenge from where you can learn and grow. Thats the ground of every THing that can be called Game,SPort, Conflict, etc.
You are all no real gamers, just a bunch of selfish and skillless guys. And it makes people like me sick if you try to defend your bad Attitutes. Btw this is not the first game OFC :) where things like this happen, maybe some people know how awful such things can become in the late.
Ps: Sirry for bad englando, ima no natiFF england.
I think selling titan kills is great.
It really stimulates the gold farming market. Think about it. People with relics but in AF gear really had the time or motivation to grind 500k gil? If they had that kind of time and motivation, they would have darklight or HQ crafter materia binded gear at least. So where is this gil coming from?
Thank you for supporting gold farmers. They have families to feed too.
I dont see any problem with people buying titan runs or selling them. The people selling them are offering a service and getting paid for it. Its called capitalism. It doesn't affect me or my gaming experience in any way. Honestly I am jealous that my FC doesn't sell them. I would love to get in on the gil making opportunity.
I guess I will have to wait for awhile until we can start selling coil clears :-)
