I almost look forward to the next post from the OP, been a shit day at work so far but he's such a funny guy...
lmfao what a tard.
Let me say an honest opinion here. I've been shouting about DRK because yes, that is my preferred job of choice.
However with that said, of course I want to see blue mage, of course I want to see red mage, time mage, thief, ninja, samurai, beastmaster etc. I want to see more utility jobs implemented, I want the game more open towards utility jobs. I want them to have their own LB. This is just the start of the game guys. Who cares if jobs overlap as long as they are fun and distinct in some other way.
I'd say I'd rather see RDM, but honestly they'll probably both be implemented around the same time. I could be wrong though. Time will tell.
Also, despite favoring dps roles, I'm completely fine if it ends up more support oriented so long as it's done well and fun to play. Maybe combos that include a mix of weapon skills and spells. Could be an interesting play style.
No. I don't want blue mage. I want another tank and another healer class. Call them whatever you want but this game lacks in that aspect. Dark knight? WTF are you talking about. MRD covered that base easy. Cross MRD with Virus there is your FN DRK.
You could have 100 tank classes and one dps class and more people would still play dps.
This is the most retarded solution I'm sorry, not only do you want to decide what people are going to play but also you obviously don't understand the appeal of certain jobs.
If all you would aim for is what roles jobs play then everyone would play either brd whm or pld since they are generally deemed best in role.
The best solution is to change party composition. Currently its 25% heal 25% tank 50% dps. But its not reflective of what people actually play. Bring 8 man content designed for 1 heal 1 tank and 6 dps and problem is solved.
Then you add dark knight ;)
I'd like to argue with you on that first line but I can't. I just think if there were more options then the two tanks that already exist or the one and 1/2 healer, it would attract more people to the roles. I never even implied I wanted to decide what people wanted to play but more options would make it more likely for people to play them.
As for your Dark Knight. What's your definition of dark knight. What can DRK do that MRD doesn't do already? Besides cast Bio which not even BLM can do on this game?
Shiva PLEASE no DRKs. As a healer in this game and one from FFXI DRKs no matter if they are pugs or if they are in your Linkshell just want to see big numbers and hit ALL their freakn skills including soul eater and take half their HP out in one swing. PLEASE no DRKs.
I can't see BLU working in this game. RDM would be awesome. But I am more so waiting for Dancer. ^^
BLUE MAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I prefer to have Magic Knight rather than Blue Mage... Let say if we do have Blue's Mage, what next? Black,Red,Green,Pink Mage??? POWER RANGERS MAGES ERA....:P
Blue Mages aren't exactly a new concept being around since FF5 I think, we already have Black Mages (as well as White Mages), Red Mages have been around since FF1, Summoners can technically be called Green Mages since they're usually associated with that color (though not all the time), and Pink Mages?... *Thinks* ... Dancers? Or maybe Mimics? :P We're so close! XD
We seem to be at different ends of the spectrum because I too have my opinions about dancer, however I will not raise them here as the job is not something I would concern myself with anyway. However a DRK playing the way you say in FFXI is pretty much sure to steal aggro and you know what that meant in that game. Yepp, dead DRK.
In this game it's not nearly as bad but still, a good player is a good player and as a DRK aggro management is way more important than you think. Specially since we sacrifice so much hp in addition to gaining a lot of hate leaves us in a very dangerous playfield. But at the same hand that is what makes it so enjoyable, the constant toying with death.
For a healers perspective it should not be too different from all the current DPS constantly fighting about who can steal aggro from tank first just to have healer spam way too much heals. Because you see in the hand of a bad player all classes are a healers worst nightmare.
Nothing more from OP haha.
This thread was gold, kept me hella occupied at work.
I would like to see a variation of Corsair/ Pirate later down the line... but I just want a shiny gun like my Maelstrom Admiral.
I want a Red Mage. Err.. I mean WE want Red Mage, first.
I see no point to chime back in the conversation. I actually posted this to put it out there so it could be discussed but I thought i was dealing with adults. I wanted to have a meaningful discussion about the concepts of how a BLU could be implemented in 14 since it was a very fun and popular job in 11 that a majority of players loved. Also its a job type(vampire/power stealing melee dps mage) that is not in the game yet. Of course everyone has their own opinion but the babies are just throwing insults just because they assume if you have a good discussion that some how it will affect their favorite job from coming out 1st which is just sad lol. I'll probably start a new thread later on for people who want to have a real discussion about the blue mage topic.
Also I found this link that Yoshi says of course there will be a version of BLU in 14 (I'm just hoping its the FF11 version or something close) along with possibly Drk,thf, nin and Sam. Its in the 2nd question asked to Yoshi.

I don't suppose you've given any thought to the fact that we're not going to need as many jobs as there've been in the past, have you? We have cross-class abilities, skill/playstyle consolidation (consider for example the fact that FFXIV Bard is a combination of FFXI's Bard + Ranger). We also are lacking in the ridiculously long spell lists available to casters. Each class has an "almost" unique spell set (why oh why is there cure and physic... ... ...) Move away from the idea that we need the exact same game as we had before, and realize that class/job expansion is only necessary so long as they are unique.
yes...yes..no...no...yess...yes!!
But if Lighting can join FFXIV then Yuna should comes too :x
You have to keep in mind that no one plays classes past lv 30. Its all about the Jobs. Classes are inferior to Jobs. We only have about 7 jobs atm and they aren't that great. We only have 2tank/2heals/3rng/2melee dps the choices are very limited. We need at least need 7 more fun jobs.
I'm tickled at the fact that you only have 1 job and claim that all the current jobs including the 6 you don't have, are not great/not fun. I enjoy being a Bard. "It's the easiest," "It's OP," "bla bla bla." I have fun with the archer based classes. Sure its my only Job currently but its more than enough that I like it.
Well again that's my opinion but I have 50 drg and yeah its fun but i'm not blown away. The positional requirements needed to pull off powerful sustained dps take a lot away from the Job imo. I'm lving BRD also i'm 30 atm Its not the greatest either imo. I had about 4 top lv jobs in FF11 COR and BLU were my favorites I'm hoping to see these soon also in 14.
I was thinking: what if they blended blue mage, ninja, and 'killer' effects in ffix. Basically, while I enjoy learning skills from mobs, that wouldn't be implemented. Instead, take a ninja, and give them skills that have 'killer' affects for specific types of mobs. The 'killer' affects can yield unique beneficial effects or debuffs on the specific enemies. It would be a type of melee hunter in this sort of regard. I wouldn't want this class to have a 'killer' effect for every mob, just some of the popular ones. You can still have your evasive tank the 'killer' affects were standardized into a specific buff/debuff.
In short; make a magi-ninja with 'killer' skills (FFIX) that affect specific mob groups. No BLU for this game. RDM is 'yes'. DRK is 'yes'. IDK about SAM, but it seems reasonable.
This coming from someone that played FFXI because of BLU.
As I'm reading this I realize you missed my point entirely. It's not about the transition from class to job (something that's so obvious why would you even mention this /endflame). My point is regarding the fact that the design of the game is such that we don't need nearly as many Jobs as FF has had traditionally. As I stated, Bard and Ranger have been combined to a single job. Smn/Sch are essentially the same Job mechanics with a different role focus. Also take into account that cross-class mechanics basically hand you what SE believes are the essential abilities of TWO sub-jobs (not the lower-leveled half of 1 job like FFXI).
My point is, there is no need for the RDM of tradition that we know and love, so if they're going to add a RDM, it should be unique among the other mages.
Back to OP topic: I'm not so sure about the viability of a BLU in a game with shortened, level-based spell lists. How many spells should BLU learn? How many would be viable in a given fight? How would those spells differ from what's already available to the 3 mages already active?
No we don't want Blue Mage asap. Let's fix all the issues first. They can screw up the game in 5 years when they add Blue Mage and Dancer.
May you should re-read your OP. I have seen no word discuss nor anywhere in your post or your title that would suggest this is a constructive topic. Rather I see a demanding and you even give them the deadline. Are you their manager? Heck, You don't even say how the class should be implemented or be played. All you ask is demanding like a child demand his toy ASAP, yet you blame others for not having an adult discusss? Be an adult yourself first before criticize others.
And no I am not new to FF series, have been a fan of Squaresoft since ff7. I would rather have a completely NEW class rather than having a mimic class with different name.
No disrespect intended by this. I'm a vet XI player that stopped after the Adoulin expansion and moved onto XIV. I played blue mage on XI, it was quirky and fun, I do not want to see a reheated version of that in XIV at all. If you want a XI bluemage so terribly guess what...XI is still live. Fire up that account you have/had and give it hell. New game, new classes/jobs, {yes please}
1st off they are already mimicking all the 11 classes. Show me one "job" that they have now in 14 that wasn't in 11. Are we playing the same game or you just trolling?
Also in my op what i did was present an idea thats coming anyway and I said how I though it could be easily implemented in the game. The part about we need it it asap was a joke and if you took it literally then shame on u
but I honestly think your smarter than that or at least I hope so lol. Like it or not we are getting Blu in 14 as per Yoshi question is just when. GL trolling
Well you might as well quit 14 also because they already said they are going to incorporate a lot of 11 concepts themes and jobs into 14 just read the link I posted. Also your playing FF11 jobs now SMN BLM WHM DRG ect... so your just contradicting yourself.

Whiz;1375507]Also I found this link that Yoshi says of course there will be a version of BLU in 14
And his response was;Quote:
JPGAMES: We also wanted to know, if there will also be former jobs, which we got to know from Final Fantasy XI. For example, the Blue Mage was quite popular amongst the fans. Will there be more job classes in the future?
So not sure how you came to the conclusion that he said "THERE WILL BE A VERSION OF BLU IN 14". I literally do not see the word blue in that at all, or even the word mage.Quote:
YOSHIDA: Of course not only from FF XI, but from the previous Final Fantasy Series as well. There are a lot of unique jobs in the Final Fantasy Series, so you can expect a lot of interesting classes. From Version 1.0 the new one we are implementing to A Realm Reborn to start with, is the Summoner. But also there could be classes like Dark Knight, Samurai, Thief and Ninja.
lol really? Its in what you posted. The question is will they have FF11 jobs in 14 like "BLUE MAGE" for example. Yoshi says" Of course not only from FF XI, but from the previous Final Fantasy Series as well."
The guys specifically uses BLU as an example and Yoshi says yes and they will probably do DRK,Sam,NIN and thf along with other jobs from other FF.
Oh now the whole thing "We need it ASAP" is a joke. How typical of you!!!And well sorry for people taking it seriously, thought you want an adult discussion, right after you cricticize others for not having an adult discussion with you. And the suggest you give out is so brilliant that in the end, what do you want? I don't know. And since I already being called a troll, might as well troll your post more. Are you ready for the consequences?
Ha ha ha, swing from a troll to 15 yrs old, you make me feel young. For that, I thank you. Oh and I already done my house chores. I want to keep my house and rooms tidy and organised. That is what it take to be an adult, I know. And for the morning, I don't have cereal for breakfast, your post is way more delicious and give me a very refresh aftertaste.
Call me dude? Are you a troll and/or 15 year old kid, same as what you called me? And Who dude whom? I don't recalled to be friend you. Is there a rule saying that how a signature should be? Or someone being jealous because he can not have it? LoL
