Let's just wait for 2.1 to come out first before we start a war between fortune tellers and white knights.
At launch World of Warcraft had little to no end-game content to. Dungeons didn't have multiple difficulty modes and Raids didn't have multiple sizes.
Dungeons included: Lower Blackrock Spire, Blackrock Depths, and debate-ably Stratholme though it didn't go to max level.
Molten Core, Onyxia's Lair both 40-man dungeons at launch. Upper Blackrock Spire was a 10-man raid at launch.
The Raids were horrible and took months to be fixed up to be playable properly so. The flaming on the forums and in-game makes the flak FFXIV is getting look like childs play -- however people still gave it time and look where it got to.
while this is true, that game also launched a decade ago and developers have had time to see the market and what is expected. I also was under the impression that while the game was redone, the groundwork for this content was already laid in 1.0. I personally wish they had put less dungeons in the 1-49 range and used them at 50 instead. 3 dungeons from 15-18 was a bit overkill. There are 16 dungeons and only 4 of them are level 50, 2 of them dont drop items.
Heh, I remember when people said "Wait till ARR comes out before assuming x..." which ended up being true. ARR isn't going to be a "raiding" MMO, he wants it to be casual and accessible to everyone, hardcore and not alike so of course we won't see "real raiding content" until the game gets top heavy.
I'd be happy with server transfers and increasing token drops from primals. So I don't have to run the same dungeon eight times a week and at least have a change of scenery. CT? Meh. 24 man raid through DF sounds like a mess but I'll give it a go. If transfers are implemented I should have a FC by then to do it with.
