So basicly 2.1 gives us a 24man DF raid (LFR/Easymode/PUGable - less time consuming content) that was supposed to ship with 2.0 and be content between Amdapors Keep and Coils of Bahamut. They needed more time to tune it so they posponed it to 2.1.
2.2 gives us 8man Bahamut "hardmode" with more turns.
-In conclusion as "endgame" content we get the "extreme/ultimate" primal fights in 2.1 and thats it. 3 small bossfights (maybe the moogle fight, but guess thats again DF/PUG content). We have to wait atleast 7month till 2.2 comes out.
[Compared to old XxX where u had atleast 7-13Bosses to fight against in two raidsizes 10/25man and 3 difficulties (LFR/NORMAL/HEROIC) for 5-8Month.]
U could argue: 3 primal fights + 4Bosses in Coils are also 7 bosses in total. Yep your math is right - still u got only 1 diffculty, added another one for the primal bosses in 2.1 and u will mostly que for garuda(hard) and titan(hard) one time in the current version for the relic quest. So u are basicly playing endgame raid content against 4 NPC bosses.
Now the great question - enough endgame content for over half a year?. Can´t see myself running with the 10th Character into the same small "endgame" dungeon. Don´t get me wrong - im talking here about endgame "raid" content not the pvp, level other classes, professions, get millionaire, get housing, get a real life, wife, a dog stuff.
TL;DR
- 2.1 easymode 24man crystal tower (content between AK and Coil of Bahamut accessible through DF)
- 2.1 3 extrememode ifirt, garuda, titan fights + DF moogle fight
- No real engame raiding content for over half a year. Only 4 Bosses to "farm" (7 if u count the extreme primal fight of 2.1 in)
- 2.2 more turns for coil of bahamut
// I dont´t hate on it, its my opinion that these days the mmo "makers" focus on "leveling" experience only and just forget everything at the higher levels/endgame raiding of an start of an mmo, last time i saw that was on swtor - and we all now where that game went, had really great leveling but endgame was non existent w/o bugs at release. In ARR they didn´t even mess around to get one of the really good level dungeons into "high" level content for example
