Well if we judge by EXP on FFXI, you're better off talking to a wall than Customer Service. So honestly, I'd have probably posted here as well.

There is a reason you can't transfer game accounts between SE accounts: it makes selling characters more difficult and prevents characters being removed from hacked accounts, for example.

There are more reasons for not allowing to transfer game accounts than there are for allowing it, as the system works just fine when used as intended.

That's true, it could lead people to sell their extra legacy accounts...

Im aware that Yoshi didn't cause this, it's my hopes that the XIV team will see the issue in this and possibly counteract it rather then playing it like XI did

There were benefits back in XI for SE ID linking, they wanted people to do it as it also made it harder to sell your accounts. It was a long time ago.. the only googled benefit I could find in a few moments notice was a POL statement:

Special In-Game Bonus
Users who complete the transfer process prior to August 31, 2011 will be rewarded with a special in-game item for FINAL FANTASY XI. Additional details are available here.

@ other posts I can see why SE wouldnt want to unlink accounts as it was originally intended to help with security tokens and to keep from selling accounts but my hope isn't just to try to break a account, it's trying to find a simple solution.

Ex: If a SE ID had 2 FFXI accounts and/or two XI accounts(Not alts) linked to it, giving the option to allow two submissions onto surveys or online contests, two possible beta invites, two possible lodestone post options.

It doesn't really combat selling of accounts. People who sell accounts would know better than to link 1 with 1. Even I thought of that back when they first started the SE accounts.

Yes I remember this, but I don't understand why you didn't just make two personal SE accounts and link your characters with those, as you were supposed to do.

One token to rule them all.. In fairness I got the token when it was first released in a pretty little box they mailed to me separately, right after my XI boyfriend moved to canada to live with me and we joined up our accounts under SE's advice. As neither of us had no reasoning to try to sell our accounts, we drank the koolaid that was promised to be yummy, we didn't realize we would from then on only be allowed half a drink each. Whats done is done yes, its just my hope that Yoshi might see the flaws not originally stated by SE. Had they said "If you link up you can only apply once to anything we do and any contests", we wouldn't have done it. At the time, they made it sound quite promising.

I understand why you both linked your XI accounts to SE accounts, I just don't understand why you both didn't get your own SE account as you were supposed to do (as the accounts are personal). You would have gotten the same benefits without all this trouble.

We were linked via SE ID(XI and XIV) long before POL XI accounts transferred over to the SE member site that handles our XIV accounts. So this all started back before XIV even came out

Yes I know, I played XI back then and so did my partner. It didn't even pass our minds to do anything but create our own accounts though, so that's what I don't understand.
