Exactly! The slower transportation in XI made the world seem so vast! The first time I made my way from San d'Oria to Windurst felt like an accomplishment! I was younger then, and XI was my first MMO. So I really felt immersed. As if I was truly in a foreign land. Being only Level14 and playing with a real life friend, it felt like a true adventure finding our way to Selbina, discovering the ferry, and finding our way to Windurst with no maps. That was a true adventure. And one of my earliest memories of XI.

When I started XIV, someone teleported me to all three city-states right from the get go. Though the areas were huge, I felt no sense of adventure or exploration. No feeling of accomplishment for getting to the other city-states. Nor did I feel like I was in a foreign place. Besides, the scenery right outside the gate looked just the same as half way across the map. :p

XD lmao YES. I thought you would notice. I'll get rid of it if you like. However, When I saw it I thought it should be something everyone should see. The way people talk down to devs.

On topic: Has a rep ever responded/and or talked to YoshiP about transportation in ARR?

What's to stop me from just switching to WHM to port? Or anyone, really. Most people have all of their jobs levelled, and I doubt it'll be much more difficult. Why put in another hurdle in the game when they already confirmed Anima teleportation will be unlocked via quest?

Or maybe rather than have aetherytes, let people open up portals to their own personal checkpoints like in Archeage, and anyone can jump through them? That way, everyone could trade in teleportation portals as needed...

Oh really?? Quest is neat. Not everyone has all their jobs leveled though - also leveling wasn't important in 1.0 but it will be more so in ARR (as it will be much slower).

The hurdle is just to make it plausible but less over used compared to any transportation system - also the white mage craig spells went to a few locations not almost every main point in the world (like the anima system does - which really makes the world feel compact).
