No i get that, but that is not how many crafters think. And i have been in games with gear destroy and not enough gear around to support it.

You're playing TWO MMOs? Oh yah! I forgot... Eve Online is that crappy game you don't have to sink any hours into because your character advances on it's own while you're offline.
We need more of that in this game then. I'm starting to get tired of paying to play FFXIV, when I could be paying to not play FFXIV instead.
That is exactly how crafters think. I'm a crafter and I know I would be all over it if replacing gear was a viable way to make money.
But hey, I was just throwing an idea out there and nobody has to like it or agree. Not like SE will take my advice anyways.
Probably because at the current state of the game there is no such thing as economy, people just make something then slap a crazy price on it and if it sells they are happy. In XI loooong before the servers died out there was TONS of gear on AH at all times but with the increase of storage and lack of new blood there is no longer a demand for it so they don't supply.
As of now this would not fit into the game, whenever we get some sorta stable economy going I can se it fitting in decently even though I still don't care for it. Having crafters as a playable class and not just a random hobby you pick up when your bored changes things alot so any experience in unrelated games don't count unless the crafters had a class of their own.
I think people forget that the way the game is now is not the way it will always be. Implementing the gear damage/death thing will help create an economy I have no doubt. Just because the game does not have a viable economy now does not mean it never will. This would be one way to help bring that to fruition. One way out of many possible ways, and SE will eventually do something about it, and what they do is up to them.
This is one of those ideas that could work, but at the same time couldn't work depending on if it is implemented. As well as the time period. As mentioned previous, right now, it would just create more chaos into something that isn't quite steady. But if it would be implemented later on, when things are steady, busy, and the prices for gear are settled in a decent range.I think it would be one of the ideas where they should trial run it for around a week to see what the players think of it.
Neutral point of view on the subject, since I've never actually experienced gear breaking in any MMO's played. Thus I cannot really judge the idea besides what I posted. :]
pretty much yuun. Once your gear break its gone forever. You have to rebuy that gear all over again. Imagine say getting kirins osode, (which is still an expesive peice of gear) and it gets destroyed. Say it cost you 1mil to buy it the first time, now you have to buy it again. Thats another 1mil.
Also what would happen to say quested armor like Artifact gear in ffxi? Would we have to re hunt those if they get destroyed?
From my persinal experiemces, this don't add challange, this will just tick everyone off. This will force crafting on people because atm crafters are not willing to craft as a buiness. Just doing it to repair gear or theor friends gear.
If PPl were not like that, I wouldn't mind the idea so much as it does get ppl buying more stuff more often. But I think it also waste too much time.
Even in ffxi before the servers started to die down, there were lost of time where supply never met demand. And infact items would run out.
What the F is it to CEO, your mother, or obama if people are killing themselves to warp or dying for fun. Go away.
