I thought that sounded really neat until I remembered stages like M4 and E3 that can get really narrow while lots of things are going off around you. Getting lost in the sauce and falling off the stage to chase a ball might turn it into the next dragoon.
We have a ton of jobs that use different genres of swords and then there’s SMN and SCH who use the exact same weapons. They may have an out because they share the same base class (for now), but then you have WHM and BLM who both wield staves. Used to be that WHM staves were typically wood while BLM were stone, metal, or bone, but that’s been thrown out the window a long time ago.
My point is that there’s wiggle room for getting “too close” to another job’s weapon. I think throwing and kicking a ball is different enough of an action to differentiate a hypothetical blitzballer from dancer.
