If they were sprouts, they may not have known how to commend. Met plenty who didn't.
Also, did you dip when they were in cutscenes? I try to commend a lot of people who dip before I can.

You know as someone who mains a healer this poste really hits home, I had exactly the same issue when I started with the UI for accepting raises and it was so frustrating since it really is counter-intuitive.
It's good to keep in mind if ever a sprout is slow to accept a raise, once we understand how it works, we forget how many quirks people need to learn.
Aye! This is what I had mentioned, I did not know about them either until I got an achievement for leaving a good impression after getting 10 commendations. I think there may be a prompt that comes up about it, but it is literally grouped with a million other prompts about limit breaking and what a light party is, I was getting so flustered with all of the pop ups I was not going to read those all while the tank was going ham sandwich in sastasha/first dungeon I have ever done in a new game with actual people. I didn't want to let anyone down, so those prompts could wait....and than I promptly forgot all of them existed. I also must state everyone can not give commendations out to people who either poof from the dungeon or rush out without even saying goodbye T_T
you can always ask what happened or why youre KO. people usually no talk in dungeons... so well , maybe someone notice that was some mechanic and there is possibility they will tell you what to do
on to the topic post. well dont expect commendations, not sprouts but overall people not doing it and no matter how youre good or lifesaver :D its kinda loterry. i think best way how to get comm is be a healer o/
Comms for the Comms God! Blacklists for the Idiot Throne! I'm a Scrub Tank/Healer/Deeps, I never expect a comm from anyone and treasure any I may get. I know some people who only comm for the challenge log and others that want to comm everytime but people leave before the OK registers. Others comm when someone's helpful, some when they've been entertained.
tl;dr Getting a comm should be a feel good rush when it happens, but never be expected.
Seems about normal to be honest. I can run a mediocre expert roulette and get 3 comms, then drag a group through Aurum Vale the skin of my teeth and get nothing. Or my favourite, explain a trial, wipe 2 or 3 times, explaining everything along the way and....... nothing.
Just que up for cape westwind and have a macro made saying something like "Congratulations on winning the trials roulette lottery and getting cape westwind i am shamelessly aiming for commendations and would appreciate your continued support"
Because i know whenever i get cape westwind during trials roulette i feel like i won that day, and would happily give a commendation if someone got me that on purpose.
It would be about as boring as watching pain dry, but could honestly get the tank commendations needed in a few days.
We do it for the enjoyment of helping people and playing the game. :)
It's probably half and half. Like half of those sprouts haven't yet realized how to give commendations or why. The other half is the sprouts having their own ideas about who should get their comm. A lot of people who are stuck on getting or giving commendations usually see people being really helpful as, "This guy is just doing it for the comms, but he's not so great. I will comm someone else!"
Weird psychology going on.
Another thing is like, people only comm based on the skill they themself can perceive. Like you might carry a run on tank by being really good and using your heals and group mit to keep people up as the healers die or your invuln to buy just enough time for a healer LB3 or something... but the players just see, oh the healer LB3 saved us all! Everyone comms the healer.
There's only been one time when I got every comm from an 8 man group, and that was on my LP alt when I did Tsukuyomi for story. I clutched out a win with Living Dead, killing her with 4 seconds left on Walking Dead. This was after two wipes, so everyone wanted to be done. There was much rejoicing.
Personally I usually feel pretty good even getting one or two comms, because it means someone noticed me. I play a lot, so it adds up, and I feel like I usually get noticed. Not a lot of runs happen where I get none, even on DPS, so I can't really complain.
I can answer this one! The reason the "Hold to return to start after KO" was implemented is because the Raise button from a healer is instant, and people kept mistaking the Return button for a Raise button, and returning to the start of the dungeon mid boss fight by accident.
If you click once, it was a raise! If you click once and nothing happens, you haven't been raised yet. If the healer is still alive, give them a second, they might have had to dodge mid cast or lag ate their Swiftcast. If the healer is not alive, well, everyone is going back to start.
