Did you perchance miss Final Fantasy XIV 1.0? Marvel's Avengers? The Mankind Divided Augment Your Preorder scam?

I would have thought the hard lessons learned with 1.0 would have stuck. I guess not.
I know little about Avengers but aren't they a separate studio under Square? Due to Square's hiring requirements I know they struggle finding people so I'm not super surprised that didn't get their A team. Shame, I had some interest in that. As a matter of practice I stay away from new MMO's until the studio can demonstrate they know how to deliver a solid experience.
Mankind is completely off my radar.
Don't doubt YoshiP.
This line is very promising as far as hats/helmets for Viera/Hrothgar goes.
So while it might be taking a while just the fact that he wants to fix this problem is good.Quote:
Nevertheless, we are aware of player feedback and we are definitely not the kind of dev team that ignores their players feedback.
There were a few things we said would be impossible to do, but we worked hard on it and made it possible in the end... I hope to have some good news soon.
The hairstyles however, that's something they should fix on the shorter term, in terms of development time and money just giving them 1 or 2 existing hairstyles per patch, at the very least, would be appreciated.
Yeah, nevermind how Au ra horns clip through some hats/helmets in the very same way that Viera ears would clip through. Same with tails, tails can clip through everything but that's fine, the line just has to be drawn when it comes to rabbit ears. Like I've said before, if the clipping on a specific headpiece is really bad they can angle it, resize it, or just don't add it. The majority of the hats/helmets however work fine with the ears from what I've seen from a mod that ticks hats "on" within the game for female Viera.
In a world of hroth / Viera but restrictions or no hroth / Viera I'd choose the first everytime. Of course between both races no restrictions and or with restrictions I'd also choose the first again.
I'm not one to make many alts but I know others love to. I imagine part of it is their data structure issues again though, just like they have troubles making all things mog shop account wide, or think glamour, house, and other issues like that. Would be nice to hear SE investing against that. That said some of the reasons one would have an alt in say WoW don't exist at all for FFXIV due to our job system.
I really hope we see some serious competition where rival MMO's are concerned. I hope at least one between Blue Protocol, Ashes of Creation and Pantheon manages to step up in that regard. With a proper rival, I think FFXIV would quite quickly come to resolve many of the issues that are arguably holding it back.
If Viera and Hrothgar were going to cause so much trouble, I really don't understand why they bothered adding either - especially when enhanced customisation for the existing playable races has been a common request for quite some time. Now we have two playable races who can't use most of the hairstyles present in the game and of the new hairstyles we do get, most are quite clearly designed with female characters in mind first and foremost even if they're technically 'unisex' - with little regard for those of us who play male characters and who wish for masculine hairstyle options.
Well, we have to remember that male Viera was a "not happening unless we can overcome what's making them hard to implement, and it is HARD" and we still got them along with confirmation that female Hrothgar are coming. Hairstyles were actually confirmed to be coming ("Soon") So we can except they're ACTUALLY working on them but either hit a snag or wanted to have both genders out to give them shared hairstyles down the line (I HOPE, gosh I don't want to think Viera would get gender-locked HAIRSTYLES when we've been getting pretty androgynous stuff for all the other races)
