The original system was too inconsistent to work well. There were times when I could fight several mobs in a row and get less than 200 sp, meanwhile others could max out in a few hits on one mob. That doesn't even begin to touch on how broke it was for Thm and Cnj to rack up sp. Random xp is idiotic.
What? In XI if you were in a party and the mob died, you got xp regardless of whether you participated or not. It was never random. Skill Points are not the same as Experience Points.Quote:

Also, that's how it was like in FFXI the only thing would be the tank. Everyone else would still know how to do their job.
Oh, it's you again. You should just make one thread and title it "Dear SE, please make it be 2010 again."
The entire problem with the skill up system was that it was completely unfair. When you hit the mob you had a *chance* to skill up. And certain classes got the shaft when it came to skilling up. Yeah, it was a blast when a group's archers and gladiators would out rank the lancers, thaumaturges and post exploit conjurers.
The more you post, the more I'm convinced you're just trolling. There's no way anyone could possibly want to revert this game back to the pre-Yoshida days.
i forgot to mention that i have gotten 0 xp while soloing mobs back then. Just wanted to point that out. \
You cant give xp based on ability's. It would take so long to even get it remotely balanced. whats the whm doing, oh hes nuking and not healing to get more xp. hey tank you gotta voke, screw that my riot blade gets me more xp.
the current system allows you to earn xp as a team which is the way it should be.
Problem is too many people now have all their classes to 50 and just from my observation it is making it very difficult for new players. I see alot of new people having problems finding parties because 90% of the people are all higher ranking and of course they want in on the action and fun so if someone offer them a PL of course they are going to want to take it.Maybe they could adjust things on next level cap.
From what I have seen it goes the other way as well you have alot of high end people who leave and when that happens they need players so they level up the lowers to have more people for end game stuff it is a vicious cycle, I have seen alot of new people leave over the lack of parties and feeling left out it happens.
