Healer complexity has gone down however... Kiss doing deeps good bye
So you enjoy playing a class that, due to these changes, feels boring? I've seen players like yourself and if healing is all that you want from playing such a role then so be it. It's one thing to play like that in a regular dungeon but to me if the healers can help out in a raid like environment. ergo. primals, 24-mans and the 8-man content. I feel like it's worth feeling like you are pulling your weight on top of healing. Popping off one DoT and maybe spamming one spell like Ruin or Stone isn't enough for me.
I'd like to leave this link here in the forum to show what I'm talking about. This link will show the level of play that has been forfeited by "dumbing" down healer play to only healing.

This singular video shows the level of play and complexity that I as a Final Fantasy XIV player love.
Let’s be real. People are wiping to even the bosses in the first ShB dungeon. Mechanically it still expects people to not be screw ups.
I don't know how for you is boring since i had to literally time my healing perfectly to do dps as well as a Whm, OP. Either we are playing a different game or you in fact haven't touched healer since the expansion has been on.
I don't have down times and no time to yawn at this point and the time passes faster than idling and pressing my 2-3 buttons to dps only like it was before.
My 2 cents.
Yeah, and that's not the kind of complexity you can enforce in a MSQ/casual run of the game.
Keep that stuff in Savage for people that do Savage.
I personally feel the changes to be good.
I picked up Summoner this expansion, and I'm enjoying the class.
I can keep up with other DPS, and I'm above the tank and healers.
Is my rotation perfect? far from it, and I hope to get better at it as I play more.
The first dungeon in ShB was challenging enough, and with a few tweaks here and there, they did a good Job.
I am all for simpler rotations and harder boss fights.

Brian from Work to Game is saying in this video exactly what I'm thinking about. The goal of a healer is to keep the party alive during the encounter whatever that may be. This is not an excuse to be standing around doing absolutely nothing while waiting for the next bit of damage to come out. Anyone as a healer SHOULD be contributing to the overall DPS of the party IF and only IF they are comfortable with that effort.
I look at it like this. You are wherever you are and your trying to save up to buy something special. Great you've given yourself a goal, however, things aren't panning out. Wouldn't it be nice to have the extra little bit of effort to make up that difference that's needed to get your special items? Healers being able to crank out the DPS WHILE healing is nothing but a boon to those the healer is with.
With that being said I still feel like being a healer in Shadowbringers has me doing nothing but healing constantly and that's what I have the biggest gripe with. I'm the kind of person that wants to give everything I've got and more. The devs taking nearly all of our offensive abilities to achieve this "healer always be healing" mentality is a detriment to groups. We've lost some of the utility as it were to make that push where the actual DPS may be lacking. We've all been there we've all seen that some DPS simply do not understand how to play their jobs properly and the entire party suffers for it. You can't sit there and tell me this isn't the case?
Does this mean that I expect the healers to do nothing but DPS. No absolutely not. All I'm saying is that the value of a healer that can DPS and heal while it may be taxing is a great thing. I just had a thought as well... Narrowing this trinity down to where tanks don't necessarily have a hate combo any more, dps are still expected to put out their maximum effort, and the healers only really being able to heal. It also narrows the pool of those bad players who are always saying "welp it's the healers fault for not healing" or "DPS standing in fire DPS higher". This is already an awesome community. We've all seen that and together, should the devs do something to give us even some of what was taken back. We can help those who are struggling to understand. That is what I believe in.
I'm going to keep pushing this, because this is what I believe is right. Not because I want to see the skill gap between players grow. It's because it's for the better of all of us.
I love the fact that you generalize all the healers in the same group, yes there are some that don't enjoy dpsing and will only heal , but we those the rare bread are always trying to top our best by doing both and in some instances solo heal if the ot heal is dead or just playing bad.
At this point it just throwing gasoline on fire on the old subject of healers not dpsing.
