That you're really trying to find consistency in how I post is really funny, when nothing is consistent about me.

And, well, I'm actually quite confused. What does my consistency have to do with your opinion on Dancer, or did I miss something?

Trying to take a dig at my character is a pretty dick move... all because I like Dancer? Okay I guess. I still say you should nap.

Some people like RNG proc-based jobs. Others don’t. Just because you don’t find it fun doesn’t mean others don’t as well. Personally, I find it incredibly enjoyable. I always feel like I’m busy pressing buttons, and it reminds me of how busy BRD could be sometimes last expansion when they had procs coming out the whazoo. The procs honestly aren’t that bad once you get it going, what with the procs on the base combo skills, the feathers, and eventually Esprit, I hear nothing but good things about its gameplay. Plus, Quadruple Technical Finish is one satisfying skill to land.

My only issue is that the actual dance concept seems woefully oversold and that's a bit of a shame to me. The dances are basically 1-minute upkeep buffs for you and another person that require a little DDR minigame to get maximum value from. I was hoping they'd be a more integral part of the job but I'm still having fun leveling it ATM.

As others have already said, having enjoyed 2.x BRD and 4.x BRD with Bloodletter/Mage's procs I also enjoy DNC's less static rotation. The ability animations flow together beautifully while not looking overly feminine IMO, and honestly if the dances were a bit more than just a slightly interactive maintenance buff it would be my main for sure. Right now I'm having a blast leveling it but not sure it's "main" material for me. Can definitely see why it has tons of appeal though, which is where I suppose I and the OP differ.

Standard finish hits really really hard and I've been told you use it every 30s. Not sure of the math but I'll gladly believe it to play ddr twice as often.

Using every 30s is not a great idea, but let me explain why:

Standard finish needs 4 GCD, your regular single target (x2) combo is 900 potency vs 1000 potency from the standard finish. Sounds good, right? Sure, but there is a catch: dance moves can't generate flourish procs, and you want to generate as many procs as you can. After all, a dancer has 3 layers of RNG: Flourish-> Feather-> Fan III.

You are the first one that is giving a proper answer to the OP, Kudos to you.

The rest of the answers is a bunch of ad hominem attacks towards the OP for no reason. Instead of clarifying why dancer is great, you just attack her and tell her to f..ck off, that nobody cares about her opinion. It really hurt in several ways to read trough this topic and I can see where the "Terrible Community" vibe is coming from when the average is: "Man, GTFO, STFU, nobody cares" towards a personal opinion.

It is very obvious that all the hate comes from Dancer players, but for some reason, there is barely any reason mentioned as why to play Dancer. The few aggressive responses get more upvotes than individual participants are posting in this thread, so the others do not even bother to explain why they think Dancer is cool. They rather just "Like" this nonsense pile of bashing towards the OP.

I mean, if you bark in my face how trash Red Mage is in your eyes, I will not bark back but explain why I do love it. Hence my huge signature.. This is how a discussion forum work.

For my part, when I saw dancer, I also made fun of it the entire day, and I also asked what's the deal with it. Let that sink in: "Dancer". This really leaves a lot of room for questions.

Standard finish does not need 4 GCD's. Each step move takes 1 second. GCD is 2.5 seconds.

Standard finish is 1000 potency. Cascade is 200, Fountain is 250, using these 2 skills takes 5 seconds. Standard finish takes less time to cast than this and hits almost twice as hard.
