I miscounted the # of servers, though it still remains that there are only 4,320 plots per server. On places like Greg or Balmung competition will still be fierce. I'm in favor of letting those who own multiple houses pick 1 personal and 1 FC if they own an FC and the rest are force relinquished with compensation of Gil equal to the value of the house and plot, +25% or so to compensate for unrecoverable furnishings. Maybe un-bind the 'bind when placed' items so they can sell them.

Realistically, the PR would likely be just as bad if they just left it be.

They make the change and grandfather people in but then once all the plots sell out, the complaints start up again about those who got grandfathered in particularly because at this point those people have a benefit that no one else can replicate.

They make the change and don't grandfather people in, you have those people get the pick of their current houses. They feel bad but with the limitations noted, at a minimum for every individual impacted, four people are happier cause their fc now has a house and those are four unique accounts per world. For those that have like 16 houses, that's potentially 56 people.

It's literally a group being unhappy and a larger group being happy given the combination of new and freed up plots. Maybe the smaller group is more vocal, but it's not unrealistic to expect that the good pr from the larger group will overwhelm the negative from the smaller.

That the rest of the slide talked about purchasing is what made it really pop out to me that the line about 1 private and 1 fc house specified that it's a limitation on ownership. It has implications such as not being able to join an FC that has a house if you already have one for example.

And again, it seems to me that literally the first thing that will happen the moment plots fill up again is that people will go straight for those who are outside the, then, current rules.


EDIT: Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't just make it so if you're outside the 1/1 rule all your houses start ticking for inactivity and won't stop until you bring yourself into line. That seems the simplest way realistically.

Indeed, on my main i hold a medium house fully decorated, and on my first alt a mansion which had even more effort put into decorating. So now i have a choice give up the mansion or leave my main character homeless....... That is if i even get to choose

I sincerely hope so that they wont touch existing house owners and just impliment them for new to buy housing

And the 4 man limitation is a joke, people would just park 4 unused alts in there, and what will they do if one person leaves the fc and there is only 3 left. Take away there house?

It's not on the slide, but they said that the fc limit is for all members of the fc, not just the owner. Which implies that those alts will prevent their mains from being in an fc that has a house. It also, unfortunately, likely means that you might not be able to have legit alts in two separate active guilds on the one world.

They can't do that without creating 'super users' who are now immune to the rules that the rest of the population are bound to and they can never own multiple houses like those users. It would be a PR nightmare. All they need to do is let alts TP to your main's house and use the facilities.

As someone who owns just one personal and just one FC house, I would find it extremely unfair to take ppls houses away which they have owned before the rulechanges. Especially on alts.
And no, I'm not talking about the ones who buy like ten houses to sell them off again. I'm talking about normal people who just love decorating and housing and have worked hard for their houses and spend time working on them.

I dunno, just taking them away would feel so...wrong. :/

Sairys, i believe you but that sounds stupid from SE.
So quickly creating a rank 6 fc wouldnt help if i leave my main in my fc. I hadnt thought of that yet.
Also it would mean leaving the fc one of my alts is in. It would also affect a few of my friends who have alts in other house owning fc's
I would understand if they impliment that for characters newly joining an fc but SE should leave existing ones alone

Until the # of plots exceeds the # of personal players needing housing and the # of FC's needing housing it's literally barring a direct in game amount of power from what could be considered 2nd class characters. Gardening can only be done with a property and provides a means to make gil unavailable to the average player. FCs require a house to do airship missions, which have become increasingly important and directly linked to being able to engage on the harder difficulties of the expedition missions. What's unfair is people owning more than one house in these circumstances. Pay the owners gil worth the plot and unrecoverable assets and let them pick which house they want to keep.
