Yes, they do. Options like direct monthly payments from a card to SE without the use of Crysta or Click and Buy.
Isn't that the point of the second poster in the thread?
I don't recall SE forcing me to buy Crysta to pay to play the game -- I clearly recall willingly choosing to pay with Crysta because I find it the better option, I had the option of C&B, Paypal and Playspan gamer cards as well, I chose which option I wanted to use that was available to me.
The issue people having with being forced to use anything is being forced to used Click&Buy if other options aren't available to them yet.
No. Click & Buy is how they handle CC payments if you don't choose Crysta. The whole point was saying that Crysta is basically a 1:1 meaning there's is a way to basically do direct CC payments in the US because you can choose to add 999 Crystal through paypal/ultimate pay which = $9.99 USD, aka the monthly price of FFXIV currently.
You can use C&B to buy Crysta I believe, but you don't have to.
Damn my edit wasn't quick enough, fair enough I still stand by my edit.
So are you required to sign in ever month and buy 999 crysta or does it atuomatically renew (like a CC ) ?
In all honestly SE should accept direct payment and just eat the administration, customer support,, CC fees / international transaction fees and associated fees themselves . Just like any other game company that has an international MMO. Its ok to have 3rd party payment company like paypal, click and buy, ultimate pay, ect as an option but still give players the choice to pay you directly
If they can't accept direct payment they should work that out as soon as possible. They probably wanted to try and get rid of some overhead by not handling credit cards themselves but you can see how that back fired.
They ARE working on it... people just don't read.
Thats part the issue, its like the XBL points I meantioned above if you say buy 3000 then you could end up with currency you don't use.
As you say though you can calaculate the amount 1:1 but then you would be better of selecting 3 months or something.
People just want an easy option to renew your payment direct from the CC, I shouldn't have to explain it, you played FF11 so you are aware of how they did it in that game.
Most of us are aware of this but it should have been sorted out prior to billing went live they have had since September to sort this out.
People have been complaining about click and buy and crysta since launch so it not something new that they didn't know about either.
I will try directpay, thank you for the info! I figured it just was yet another register and verify process with another middle man company like click and buy.
