Is Dissipation really that bad?

Not true. rouse whispering dawn fey ilum/covenant with largessed dissipated deployed adlo will save you more MP than healing the raid with succor.

and you get 3 extra aether stacks too instead of spending one on the following indom if you hadn't used dissipated largessed adlo.

Again what are you spending mana on? Of course you wouldn't summon the fairy while your tank is getting mauled but when put into perspective your fairy is indeed more mana-efficient than anything we can pull off undissipated. For myself I'm contemplating just reserving Swiftcast usage around Dissipation when I foresee complications and saying "sucks to suck" to dps that dick around and get killed during mechanics. Plus rezzing with fairy out is optimal.

Wow owner of truth. Never i said i ran out of mans frequently lol but it happens on progression of raids.
And is so something i dont think its usefull (at least before) i have cleared all raids and prob use it some 20 times at most.


Now with the new trait i can see people using it morw but still, it isnt our needed skill and still havent use on omega savage

Like the others have been saying, the problem with Disappointment is that it's challenging to make up for the lost aid of the faerie, and having to re summon her takes time and MP (Something that SCHs have a harder time with in Stormblood).

I have an interesting suggestion that might turn Disappointment into a better skill. Rather than the way it currently works, I'd like to see it swap your faerie and provide a buff to you and to her.

SE is definitely never gonna change LOL "Dissapointment's" function at least I don't see it as so. They don't have enough incentive to. SCH is meant to be played with planning and responses to mechanics rather than reactions which lead to mistakes because we have finite resources. The only thing I see the fairy good for is additional dps time, sure while she's away I'm healing like a chicken cut my head off but physick heals more than embrace, and if you use Largesse you'll actually find that you have down-time (which for me is definitely very awkward.) The only thing we essentially lack is aoe healing capability, which we only get 2 to use at a time.

Dissipation is an emergency button, but so many scholars are afraid or so averse to using it when it's usage is indeed viable.

I think it will be more usable because its a 15 less seconds for aetherflow.
Personally I beat V1S without any need of it, and I hope I dont have to use it on the future lol I dont like the skill.

I don't think Dissipation is bad, the main problem with it is that you'll very rarely run into situations that warrant using it.
I understand that this is part of the 'strategic and situational' identity of Scholar, having abilities that can only realise their full potential when used as part of a specific strategy. The problem with this is that it's difficult to get a decent payoff from using it, even in situations where it could be warranted

So what's the point of this thread if you're just going to outright dismiss the opinions of SCHs that disagree with your own?

Where in this thread did I say "I don't like that I'm not listening to what you have to say?" A conversation works by taking turns issuing dialogue. Also of note is the use of inquiry in my post to ascertain why people think the way they do. you can answer the questions I have or not of your own volition but I'm not denying what anyone has to say. I asked a question and am expanding on it with the helpful dialogue of other players. if you don't like you can go. >.>

In this thread I've seen SCHs saying they don't use it cause the cost (frequently MP) is not worth the gain. To which I've watched you effectively respond 'LOL wrong idiots". You initial post seemed to be aimed at learning why people don't like the skill, maybe try listening?
