They tried in all sorts of ways, but frankly it just got worse every patch. At least you ran a caster for A2 in 3.0 and MNK was kind of useful. Like, was 2 years ago that the last time an entire archetype of jobs (mDPS) had a reason for even existing?

And they bent over backwards to make STR down useless. Like A4S they introduced an entire new form of damage to make sure that Virus/Eye/STR down/INT down were all worthless.

Depends on what they do to it. Holy Spirit is like 28% of my skill/ability damage without MP assistance (cards, bards, etc), and I've gotten it as high as 36% with lots of MP assistance. On a dummy (with melded vit accs) the DPS difference between using it and not using it is like ~900 so messing around with it can be pretty significant. I don't think they'll fuck it up too badly (probably down to 400 potency) because that'd break the rotation, but I'd rather they nerf the physical side of the rotation just because maximizing the magic side by seeing how many nukes you can fire off while still making the Requiescat timer is more fun.

You...do know that "nerfed" does not mean "made completely inviable", right? This sky-is-falling mentality whenever you see your class nerfed in an MMO is going to give you an ulcer.

There, I gave WAR and DRK utility while still letting PLD keep their slight edge on group mitigation (between Passage of Arms and Divine Veil). SE doesn't do this because they're still trying to cling to niche design, when you can't really focus so much on niche design as much as how gameplay distinguishes classes from each other.

I felt bad for us until I saw their response to DRG mains which was pretty much "Your job is weak and hard because we want it to be weak and hard, deal with it LOL"

Honestly, they way they responded to DRG and SMN was so dismissive I was offended and I don't even play DRG. The question was about DRG DPS when there isn't a BRD/MCN in the party, not about how often you can halve your hate. The response was so irrelevant I was actually confused.

Based on their wording, I suspect what they might do with regard to it is make it so its cast time increases to match the GCD time. It may slow things down with regard to weaving but chances are you'll still be able to fit 4 casts in easily enough (or still 5 like you currently can, if you continue to use it as fast as you possibly can)

I imagine if they were going to nerf the potency of it, they would have explicitly stated so.

In short, I doubt it's going to be affected all that much.

Dunno about kicking PLD out of meta but WAR definitely going to have guaranteed spot again and this is bad design. Just as bad as having them kicked out.
