PvP Rewards Now Tied to Win/Loss: Will There Be Endemic Cheating?

I doubt it will get as crazy as the op states; but Have you pvp'd in any other mmo? I have done so in about a dozen other mmos over the years, and if I've learned one thing it's this:

Incentivizing winning in pvp has no correlation with the improvement of skill. Like zero.

Literally, the only thing that will happen is queue times will be longer (how much remains to be seen)

IF anything (as I've learned from dozens of other mmo's) this will just enable people to lose faster to maximize exp grinding, it WILL NOT make them change their gameplay. They're terrible for a reason, and it ain't because of lack of effort.

I actually wonder if this will be the case. With the Garo event still on-going, and with an influx in new players, queues might remain relatively low as they start trying for their mounts/titles/dyable gear sets before the event comes to an end.

If that started happening and SE took notice of it then they could very likely choose to remove all XP.

That's doesn't change my point. Winners get more. Losers get less. That's the nature of competition. Don't like it? Complain to Webster's.

I can already smell all the toxicity this will bring on alliance chat.

No doubt. But, contrary to the nay sayers, I think there will be positives. More people (not all) will begin to care about doing the match mechanics. Or non-pvp'ers who are just there to leech experience will go back to potd. A positive in either case.

I'm not complaining at all, I've been a fairly high level pvper in many a game, and though I'm new to ffxiv I can tell that a) frontlines isn't "competitive" and b) the reason i quoted you and the previous person wasn't about should there be a higher reward for the winners over losers (I'm all for this in fact) but rather to debunk the debate that this would force people to become better//play the mechanics of this pvp game mode.

I'll put a fiver on it that says it has the adverse effect! People will try even less to lose faster and queue up again. I could be wrong, but as I said, I've seen it happen in about a dozen other mmos.
